Properties / Re: How I Want To Build My 4 Mini Flats On A Piece Of Land. by oyinmio: 9:27am On Dec 16, 2013
ayanfeeledumare: The land measures 68ft by 50ft and it is situated in Oko-Afo, Badagry. Presently I am moulding blocks instead of sourcing from the block sellers. It is better to mould it if you have the time, security and bore hole or well water to do the wetting. I ask the moulders to mould 45 blocks out of a bag of cement. See the break down and analysis of the cost of block.
4 trucks of sand. =N= 25,000 * 4 = 100,000.
Moulders. =N= 700 * 76 bags = 53,200
Packing of blocks. = 3,000
Cement. =N=1,650 * 76bags=125, 400
Miscellaneous. = 1,500
Total. =283,100
These expenses was able to give me approximately
3,400 blocks.

Now if I have to buy the blocks I will buy each @ 120 depending on your area and it will not be of standard. So do the calculations yourself and see d difference.

However, I have bought another truck and cement which will be use for moulding additional blocks. I will let you know how many blocks I will get from that. But am projecting about 800 to 850 blocks.

....to be continued.
I have a land of 30 x 120 in Ikorodu can it also build 4 mini flats? Also for how many days will they have to wet the blocks?
Properties / Re: Material And Cost Of Plastering 100' X 50' Fence by oyinmio: 5:06pm On Nov 08, 2013
Civory: Ok. It's now clear.
You will need upto 2 full load of plaster sand. A load is about 15k to 17k, depends.
About 20bags of cement but minus the outside. Just the interior. You can find out how much cement costs in your location. It's around N1,800 here.
And labour which varies from area to area. But on the average the labour would be around 60k tp 70k. Don't do per day labour just give it as a contract to the bricklayer. Ask him how much he will collect to finish the job. Then pay him partly. Mind you the bricklayer is the one to provide his own laborers from the fee charged.
Mind everything I wrote here is just a rough estimate as am not on ground to see for myself.
is per day job bad?I intend to put a structure on my halo plot and was thinking of per day job since I don't have money to finish d building now
.

Lagos School Being Used As A Brothel
05/07/2013 10:56:00 // Headline | Lagos School Being Used As A Brothel
// Font size:

Ilupeju Senior Grammar School in Ilupeju, Lagos
A school that was turned into a brothel where hoodlums pay guards to allow them have sex with their female companions at night has been raided by Taskforce on Environmental and Special Offences (Enforcement) Unit, in Lagos State, southwest Nigeria.
During the raid, two guards at the school, Ilupeju Grammar School, located at Ilupeju in Oshodi, were arrested and charged to court in connection with their alleged despicable roles in the matter.
P.M.NEWS investigations revealed that the two guards, 60-year old Mr. Julius Okenla, and 45-year old Mr. Adebowale Adeloye, were accused of allowing hoodlums to sleep with their female friends in the school after they had allegedly been paid.
It was gathered that hoodlums who want to sleep in the school pay between N200 and N300 to the guards, while those with female companions pay N700 to be allowed to sleep in the school to have sex.
At the Special Court in Alausa where the guards were arraigned, they pleaded not guilty to the charge brought against them and were granted bail in the sum of N50,000 each, plus two sureties each who must have evidence of three years tax payment.
They were sent to Ikoyi Prison pending when they will meet the bail conditions.
Taskforce Chairman, Bayo Sulaiman, a Chief Superintendent of Police, said some of the hoodlums not only paid money to the security guards to be allowed to sleep inside the school but also vandalized the school’s property.
He said school authorities had been complaining that hoodlums messed up their schools and excrete on students’ lockers, adding that such things might be happening in other schools where touts pay money to sleep in them and carry out their nefarious activities.
Speaking with P.M NEWS in his office Thursday, the Principal of Ilupeju Grammar School, Odi-Olowo Local Council Development Area, Lagos, Otunba Y.O. Bashorun, said he cannot say categorically that the guards were collecting money from miscreants to sleep within the school premises since he did not catch them red-handed.
“Could you believe that we have just two security men as big as this school is? One for morning and another one for night duty. What can one person do in the midst of multitude? In fact, we usually pay the good ones among the touts to help assist them while on duty.
“What we want now is for the government to come to our aid. This environment is not conducive for learning. We are surrounded by motor parks and touts. Opposite us is Ilupeju park, behind us is Ibadan park. They always disturb us with their blaring loud speakers while soliciting for passengers..
“If you go round the school, you will see what I am talking about. Touts usually scale the fence to gain entrance into the premises. Some parts of the wall have even been broken by these people. If you wait till about 6-7.p.m., you will see them coming in.”
According to him, “weekend is the worst. You will see them washing their clothes by the school tap and they will dry it on the school wall. Sometimes if I come to do some work here on Saturdays, I  have to lock myself up in this office because I don’t want anybody to come and attack me.
“By Monday morning, the classrooms would have been littered with faeces, urine an all sorts of dirt. Some danfo (commuter bus) drivers even park their vehicles in this compound without the consent of the school authorities. What they do is that they park the buses late in the night and remove them early in the morning.”
Bashorun further said: “I so much like what happened. It will send a signal to the miscreants that it is not going to be business as usual in this school premises. The era of coming here to pass the night and wash their clothes in the school premises has gone. In fact, some of them have even fled.
“What we want now is that the state government should come to our rescue and make this environment conducive for learning. All the students see everyday are different forms of social vices which is not okay for their learning experience. We need tough, well trained security personnel and not old men like we used to have before.” http://news2.onlinenigeria.com/headline/302638-lagos-school-being-used-as-a-brothel.html
