....The USA is cool likewise, but I do not have my 2+ years experience in a 100+ bedded hospital so I felt may be if I apply for my CES, write my Nclex and pass solely just may be Avant would consider me ,and help with getting an employment offer, but then again auschris said it took him like 8months to have that done, n errr... Cgfns evaluation taking about 1yr I really don't plan spending that long in Naija, I don tire for here Walai grin....

bro WellEndowed, please, is it more advisable for me to come in as a student or do registration with AHPRA. My thought is all about the registration procedure, bridging program etc, av tried gathering documents but some documents are practically not available in some schools where I had my training, and I'm so afraid of what the outcome of the registration might be without sending those documents.

Dear VO
My immigrant interview is coming up soon and I want to know if it's OK to attend it with an expired police report. Got it in Dec. Last year and it just expired 2 days ago as per the Nigerian 3months validity. Someone said its still OK to attend the interview with it but I want to know your take on this since you are an authority in this area.
Your response will be highly appreciated. Thank you

hello VO
A friend of mine went for her visa interview today and was denied. Reason being that the officer said he has never heard of the NCLEX examination for nurses as she stated this as her reason for travelling. she has this exam scheduled for 29th of April. Despite her explanations, she was denied and given a yellow paper.
she said she was asked 2 questions, what she does for a living and her reason for traveling but the officer said he has not heard of this exam before. please,
kindly advise on what she should do at this point as she has already registered and paid for this exam and how soon she can reapply.
thank you.

Hello P406. This is not a gambling parlor--we don't speak of "chances" for visa qualification. The standards for qualification have not changed.

Thank you so much for your prompt response.

A friend of mine who is a nurse wants to travel to the US to write the NCLEX examination for nurses but is anxious about whether the visa would be approved due to the recent happening s in America concerning visa and travel.
she has her approval from the intended state board of nursing and have registered and paid for the exam with pearsonvue. what are her chances of getting a visa, any advice for her towards a successful interview would be appreciated please.
Her friends in America are telling her that she would not be issued a visa as the tension is so high. Pls advise.

So you mean i can immediately apply for work visa? or still need an employment offer
you cannot apply for work visa on your own.
An employer has to act as a sponsor and do that on your behalf. it is called EB3 visa. equivalent to a green card. Technically speaking, after you pass your exams and have all the necessary qualifications like the visa screen, you will need to get an employer to sponsor your EB3 petition. [visa]

Please can someone explain to me the usefulness of visa screen certificate
visa screen enables you to get a working visa /green approved.
without it as an alien worker, you can not be allowed to process your EB3 petition.
it's what seals ur green card as a foreign nurse.Expires after 5 years.

@P406,pls what's the criteria to join passportusa,a colleague once told me that without cgfns or nclex, one can't b recruited into their programme. Pls kindly revert
Thanks and sorry for any trouble/disturbance
I am told the requirements to sign up with passport USA is either a pass in Nclex or cgfns with an experience in at least a 100beds + hospital.
in my case, I had already passed nclex before I approached them, had an interview with them and then given a contract to sign.

I'm a silent observer. I have to say this concerning paying for NCLEX from Nigeria.
If you are encountering problems paying, it's not a network issue.
Simply have someone pay for you using a card that is not a Nigerian card. All you have to do is to change your address on Pearson website while registering to be the same as the address on the person's card paying for you. It's not a same name thing as someone commented above but a same address thing.
Had similar experience, had to change my address to my uncle's address and it's worked. Pearson vue will tell you that Nigerian card is not acceptable cos the addresses on it are not traceable.
I'm on my way to the states more tips on employer issues. I signed with passport USA .

Justwise,
I need your advice on something . my wife is a nurse trained here in Nigeria and now we decided
she should do a BSc program in the UK. we got this program at the University of Worcester that is
called a top up program for BSc Nursing that is one year. Now I thought we would go through UCAS but apparently we are
just to pay fees then the application for visa.
I am set to make the payment but I thought it may help to get some other peoples opinion.
I hope this is for real. Your help is much appreciated.
thanks

If your course is found to be the type you can write the exam in your home country, you may not be granted study permit, sorry to discourage you but that is the truth, your course seems to be online course.

Gbamm over n out

Collinsfbi thank you for your input.
The course is an online course but it requires contact periods at the beginning of each semester. This contact time is 2weeks
at the beginning of the semester. I have a good job in Nigeria and have no intention of living in SA. What counsel would you
give me. will it be easier to get the permit in SA at my next visit via visitors visa?

Everyone, your input will be appreciated.

Hello Again,

Its easy when you pick up your phone and call your sch to ask questions like the least number of months for the health insurance. I forwarded the documents to Momentum myself after the individual paid for me, check some of the previous pages on this thread, a NLNDR once gave me the number for their account section which i called to speed up the confirmation when i noticed it was taking more days. Then i forwarded the docs directly to her. I later received the first and second confirmation.

Thanks man I will search here for the number and call.

Zzzalexzzz:

It depends on How many months your sch stated, I paid for 9Months and had the money sent to someone who paid the equivalent in Rand. Learnt from Nairaland that u can also pay with you ATM MasterCard...If you paid with your ATM, you wait for some days for the confirmation...You only submit the confirmation which bears your member's No, Doctors Name etc

Thanks for your response . I thought about doing that but I saw they required some documents to be presented by the person making payment in SA and I am in Naija right now. how long did it take for confirmation after the person made payments. My school did not indicate the number of months to pay for so I want to pay for 6months.i may pay by master card today . Collinsfbi I would appreciate your imput. my program is actually one that I go to SA twice a year for two weeks each, its a 2yr masters course. I was there in January on a visitors visa cos there was no time to apply for study permit.i spent about 18dys and returned.

but I am thinking if I should get another visiting visa in june and apply for study permit in SA on my next trip or get it here now.i have registered for course and have a letter from the faculty to the embassy also student i.d.

Zzzalexzzz: Friends, please i will also want to know if i can use my Study permit to register a Business Name in South Africa since i am a Student entrepreneur with no Work Permit. I'm only planning on devoting a little percentage of my study time to my Biz.

Or what other documents do i need to legitimately register a company business name in South Africa?

I would like to know how you went about payment to momentum and how much you paid because I want to apply for a study permit soon and want to get the health insurance. How many months did you pay for? Thanks for your response.

Anyone that knows is free to make comments. Thanks.

Don't try getting your police report from abuja...They don't accept it except from CID Alagbon in Lagos.

that is some serious expense there(the cost of going to and from Lagos and hotel accommodation).
but may I know why that from Abuja is not accepted?
