Abeg I forgot to add my secondary school in the education section of DS-160. I am going for a masters program. Please would that be an issue? I have already submitted my Ds-160 form

Hi everyone, please does being not employed at the moment affect my visa chances. If I resigned my employment 3 months before the submission of day-160, will that be a challenge for an F1 visa. Can I feel “not employed” in primary occupation. A bit of a background, I am going to the US for a Masters program

Do you mean, " who is paying for the trip"?
If Yes, you can use "personal fund" in this instance.

Thank you for your response. Yes, that is response to the quest who is paying for your trip. What if the loan accounts for majority of the funds. Will I still select self funding.
Travel / Re: General USA Student Visa Enquiries-part 16 by PabloTrinity: 8:57pm On Jun 05, 2022
Please I ask again, please help a brother. if you have 3 sources of fund based on your 1-20 (I.e personal fund, scholarship and education loan). Which should enter into the Ds-160?. Do-160 has only one slot for source of funding.

Please I have a question. In the DS-160, we are asked who is paying for trip and your are required to provide only one answer. My question is what if you have 3 sources of funding as seen on 1-20 such as Personal fund (5k), school scholarship(10k) and education loan (40k). How do you reflect this on ds-160 since you are only allowed one answer space.

Hi Claire. Sorry im just catching up.

So, Hubby is the Architect and he has decided to go the project management route. He and a friend who will be landing a few days before us.

So they’ve been studying here and are almost set to take the exam.

We can talk privately (e mail) to see how we can learn from each other or any other useful information needed to pass across. So we can hit the ground running (by Gods grace)

Hi Demi007,

I am interested in the project management route. I will like to share in your husband's experience, so far. Do you mind if I email you. Thank you.

Let's not encourage laziness, the thread is full because people won't read but ask same questions over and over.

The fact that he's new should be why he should start reading from page 1.

I was a newbie that read from the very first thread and caught up on the third, and I have been following till now.

You are embarking on a journey, and going in blind, what's to encourage about that?

Maybe as countrymen we need to encourage each other to develop some form of reading culture.

How do you jump on a thread this long and start commenting without finding out what's its about? In finding out, his/her question would have been answered.

The validity of your post is not in question but the tone. We can encourage them politely to go to thread 1. I mean the use of "don't be lazy" in your response to him was most inappropriate. All the same, it is well. Remember we are all in this together, thus the forum.

Reading page 1 at least, will clear your confusion, this have been addressed a million times on this thread and past ones.

The earlier you read up, the better for you.
Information you get might just save you money, don't be lazy.

You didn't need to be that harsh to him. You could as well pass your advice, politely. He is apparently new here and I am sure you were also once a newbie to this thread. Let's encourage people. Thank you.

Admiralty way, Lekki Branch. The customer service team already have samples in CIC format. They just edit your details. It could take a day or two to get the necessary approvals.

Thank you so much @clock89

Dear Seniors, please I am filling my EE profile at the moment. I have my WES for the Master's Degree which happen to be a Canadian Equivalent. Whilst filling the profile, I was requested to put "secondary and post-secondary periods of study for eligibility for Express Entry", please advise if this would include my Master's degree (for which I have an ECA) and Bachelors degree (for which I have no ECA) OR just the Master's degree alone, which is the highest, for which I am claiming points and have an ECA. Thank you.

OK as earlier promised, please find below my interview script:

VO: Good morning.

Me: Good morning, how was your night?

VO: Great (sipping his coffee)

VO: Tell me about the School you will be attending.

Me: The name of the school is Vanderbilt University, one of the top 15 universities in the US commonly referred to as the Southern Ivy.

VO: O yea (he nods and smiles whilst typing)

VO: What course would you be offering?

Me: Master of laws (LLM)

VO: Oh I understand it's mostly for foreign trained lawyers.

Me: Yea

VO: Do you have an LL.B

Me: Yes

VO: What school

Me: XXXX University

VO: Tell me about the course because am quite interested.

Me: The LL.M program at Vanderbilt is divided into 3 categories 1.The Course Track 2. The Thesis Track and 3.The Law and Business Track. I am particularly interested in the Law and Business Track because it affords me the opportunity to learn courses such as introduction to accounting, corporate finance, securities regulations, corporate taxation etc (VO keeps nodding and typing)

VO: Who is paying for your trip.

Me: I am on scholarship while the rest will be taken care of by XXXX Enterprise. (Mums business name)

VO: Your visa is approved, pick it up at ....Enjoy your stay in America.

That was God in action. Thanks to everyone for their useful contribution on this thread, particularly also to my queries in the past. God bless.

I guess the fulcrum is for applicants to be quite genuine (if you are not, look it), firm and confident. Know about your school and course. Then pray to God and the rest for HIM. I was interviewed by the slim handsome VO, sitting next to the Chinese man.

Don't be scared and if payment quickly clear on Monday then receipt will be online.

Why don't you use WU if I may ask and why MO ?

Thanks alot, this is very useful. With respect to your query, the person who paid for me used MO, out of his volition.

You're safe. So far the fee was delivered. Send an email to fmjfee.sevis@ice.dhs.gov stressing the date of your interview, and how things might pan out.

If you cancel, you'll only get the next available date.

Your call.

Thanks a lot, this is very useful.

Dear all, please I have a challenge, someone in the US paid for my SEVIS fee on Wednesday via mail (money order). I have been tracking it and recently got notification (yesterday) that it has been delivered. I understand Saturday is a non working day for SEVP, however my interview is for Wednesday ( i.e 3 days time). I am a bit scared that the processing of the SEVIS fee might take long and may not be out by Tuesday. As such, I will like to know how long it will take (the money order having been delivered), before I am able to go online to check status and print confirmation. Will it be online on or before Tuesday? Assuming it is not, how flexible is the cancellation and rescheduling process? Can I cancel and still reschedule for this week or will only a longer date be made available to me?

I will appreciate your feedback.

Thank you.

You forgot that when sending financial statement to bank you sent company account and that was why sponsoer was stated as business

My question is does it belong to your parent ?

Yes it belongs to my mum and there is a sponsorship letter to that effect on the business name letter head, I also have the bank statement. Walspring I am not in any way surprised that the business name is on the 1-20. I submitted a corporate account. But someone had an argument with me today that corporate accounts are not acceptable, thus my enquiries.

There is a previous transcript when the i20 stated a business like yours but the DS160 was filled as parent and at the interview he said it was his parent . The Vo made an issue saying well its a business on the i20 not parent

So its good that you are consistent and just be ready to answer it ..... i think you should be fine but i am not a VO so not sure. you have to clearly explain the relationship between business and your mum.....

Thanks for your response, I have tried to maintain consistency in the I-20 and DS-160. But will like to enquire whether being sponsored by a business name rather than an individual has any negative impact on your visa application (interview inclusive)
Travel / Re: General U.s.a (student) Visa Enquiries-part 11 by PabloTrinity: 8:29pm On Jun 09, 2017
Please I will like to make an enquiry- I noted my sponsor to be a business name whilst filing the form for my 1-20, as such the 1-20 bears XYZ Enterprises as my sponsor. XYZ Enterprises is my mum's business name.

Please will this be an issue or is my mum's personal bank statement required.I have filled my DS-160 and noted my sponsor XYZ Enterprises, I also explained the relationship with the sponsor. My interview is scheduled for next week.

I will appreciate your contributions.

Thank you.
