You better remove your mind from the application for now before you give yourself hypertension. You start with checking hourly for updates, then twice a day, then once daily, then once in a week...till you give up and tell yourself if they dont mail you, no more checking....but you still end up checking everytime you read a PPR story grin

grin lol

"You have to report your world income (income from all sources both inside and outside Canada) earned after becoming a resident of Canada for income tax purposes on your Canadian tax return."

Hello Fam. Please I'm still waiting for a response to my question. I want to know if the Canadian government taxes any of the cash income that is taken to Canada from Nigeria after landing as a PR. Any feedback would be appreciated.

You can sit in those seats if they are available but be ready to give them up if a pregnant woman, elderly etc come on the bus.

Sitting and getting up if someone who needs it comes up does not lead to embarrassment.

The sign clearly says you must give it up if one of such people come on it doesn’t say do not sit on it even if no disabled or elderly is on the bus.

amdman:
Bus Etiquettes
Avoid sitting in the reserved seats for pregnant women or people with babies, the elderly or physically challenged people. It is better to stand when other seats are occupied than to sit in those reserved seats, as you show your consideration for those the seats are reserved for. It is not acceptable to sit there with the intention of standing up when the appropriate person gets in… it can lead to an embarrassing moment. The fact that many people flout this rule doesn’t make it right. I attended a TTC training and this was a major part of it.

You're not taxed on the income you bring from Nigeria... You just report it so as to calculate your benefits... Like GST.... It does not form part of taxable income.

Truth is, some, if not many, people are doing this by faith. We do not have it all figured out as per financials. Yet, we are moving ahead and trusting God to meet our needs and provide. You can do same too, if you believe in God. Even if you do not, where there's a will there can always be a way.

Cheers.
So true, I'm doing this with faith. There's no money but miraculously, we're moving forward. Will soon share my testimony too by the Grace of God. Amen

Kindly clarify. I definitely want to learn.

The OP stated that it was foreign income after he became a PR. So factual and deemed residents are not taxed?

LOL. Don't mind some of our people who are just experiencing Western life in their adult life, still in awe I suppose, formulating their own rules to show how knowledgeable they are.

He mentioned that he learned that tidbit at a TTC training, I wonder where formulation now comes in. You can live somewhere forever and make assumptions or just be doing the wrong thing with everyone thinking it's correct.

Western life experiences varies by country. You see when I moved here from the UK, there were lots of things I had to unlearn and also lots of new things I had to learn.

The poster is kind of right. One thing you need to realize is not all disabilities are visible. Canadians are also not confrontational so someone might actually need the seat and not want to ask you to get up. You also would not realize they need the seat because their disability is not visible. In general I'd avoid seating on those priority/reserved spots.

It is even politely stated on the buses to always move to the back end.

Hi Claire. Sorry im just catching up.

So, Hubby is the Architect and he has decided to go the project management route. He and a friend who will be landing a few days before us.

So they’ve been studying here and are almost set to take the exam.

We can talk privately (e mail) to see how we can learn from each other or any other useful information needed to pass across. So we can hit the ground running (by Gods grace)

Hi Demi007,

I am interested in the project management route. I will like to share in your husband's experience, so far. Do you mind if I email you. Thank you.
