I'm really not bothered about guys siphoning aviation fuel from a plane. What I'm curious to know is who they sell these jerrycans to.

Does it mean some airlines could actually just buy off jet fuel from any tout at the airport and use a funnel to pour it into a plane?

I would have expected a very stringent procurement procedure for things like jet fuel considering the dangers of running an aircraft with poor quality or adulterated fuel.

1. It's not possible to sell the fuel to an airline because of the many safety on fuel contamination. Checks are been carried on every fuel used by airplanes from the source and to the end users(airline operators) and these are documented for further reference.

2. Jet A1 fuel could also be used as a kerosene. I remember back in the years, these fuel is been shared among lower staff.. mind you, the fuel shared is usually gotten from the drained fuel used for checks and since you can't return it back to the aircraft, you just share it among lower staffs.

3. I'm not partisan, But I tell you the truth, for people to stay awake untill 2:55 am(Midnight) just to siphon a couple of jerry cans of kerosene(Jet A1), I really think poverty is the drive here.

If the subsidy on kerosene is been gotten by all, no one will b a Jet A1 fuel in place of normal Kerosene..

In any case, the story is a big and blatant LIE. Same story was posted on Linda Ikeji's blog on the 4th Feb 2015 with photos of same lady. It was alleged that the woman who was identified as Yejide was beaten with a belt for infidelity by her husband.
