“Making Ogun a Mega State”

I believe Nigeria's youths deserve a bigger vision.

There is nothing wrong with frying akara, roasting corn, or making kulikuli. Honest work should always be respected. But our national goal should be much bigger than that.

Our young people need opportunities to do research, build industries, create technology, and solve Nigeria's problems.

Many countries where people roast corn or run small businesses also invest in their citizens. They work to provide stable electricity, good roads, better housing, quality education, security, and support for businesses Those basic services help people and businesses grow.

Nigeria should do the same. Give our youths good education, research funding, reliable electricity, security, and an environment where businesses can succeed. I strongly believe they will create jobs, build companies, invent new technologies, and compete with the best in the world.

Let us stop thinking only about survival. Let us build a Nigeria where every young person has the opportunity to innovate, create, and prosper.

If Nigeria truly embraces space technology, it can become a powerful tool in tackling the growing insecurity across the country. A nation cannot achieve meaningful development without security. Rather than spending hundreds of billions of naira on excessive government luxuries and unnecessary extravagance, a portion of those resources should be invested in strengthening our space technology capabilities.

With advanced satellites, aerial surveillance systems, geographic intelligence, and real-time monitoring, security agencies can track criminal movements, identify threats early, and respond faster. This would greatly reduce the activities of bandits, kidnappers, terrorists, and other criminal groups.

Nigeria is blessed with brilliant technology experts and innovators. We have talented minds capable of building solutions that can transform our security architecture if given the necessary support and funding. The challenge is not the absence of talent; the challenge is leadership priorities.

Looking at situations where criminals move freely while security forces struggle to respond effectively, it becomes clear that we need a more innovative approach. The solution lies in visionary leadership that embraces modern technology and invests in long-term security infrastructure.

The future of Nigeria will not be secured by rhetoric alone. It will be secured by innovation, technology, intelligence gathering, and leaders who are willing to think ahead. The earlier we adopt these solutions, the safer and stronger our nation will become.

Former Minister of Sports and Youth Development, Solomon Dalung, has lashed out at the All Progressives Congress-led Federal Government over the country’s security situation.

He argued that the Federal Government do not seem to have a solution to the insurgency situation plaguing the nation.

Naija News reports that Dalung shared his reservations during an appearance on Arise Television’s ‘Morning Show’ on Friday.

He questioned the government’s failure to track bandits in the forest, but to successfully arrest anyone who criticises them.

Dalung said, “They have all the gadgets to track anybody who criticizes the government. They can pick him up in the next five minutes, but they don’t have equipment to track terrorists who display huge funds in the forest.

“So I don’t know what unity the federal government is asking Nigerians against terrorism. Nigerians are determined to deal with terrorism, but government seems not to have the political will to deal with.

“The All Progressive Congress, APC, in all ramifications, seems not to have solution to the security challenges confronting this country, and it pained me so much.

“The Federal Government has completely and woefully failed, and they don’t seem to have any iota of solution to the ravaging insecurity that is across the country.

“In Plateau State now, it is not safe for you to travel on the highways, not because of the fear of terrorism, but you will run into a community that has been displaced by terrorists, and in anger they will take over the highways and begin to attack vehicles that look like those of leaders.”

Solomon Dalung spoke the bitter truth! The APC government has all the gadgets and intelligence to track and arrest critics within minutes, but they can't track bandits displaying money openly in the forests?

This insecurity is not rocket science to solve. With proper political will, serious intelligence, technology, local vigilantes, and cutting off ransom funding, Nigeria can drastically reduce this menace. Countries with worse situations have done it.

If after all these years they still have no solution, then Nigerians have every right to ask: Does the APC government truly lack the will, or do some people in power have a hand in it? Enough is enough!

Dalung, thank you for speaking boldly. The failure is total and woeful.
