Dalohad:My brother, I understand why many people feel that way. But I am not like that. Leadership should mean staying connected with the people, not running away after winning. I believe a representative must always listen to the people and remain accessible. That is the kind of leadership I want to practice |
AfroRemoteJobs:A big shout out to my fellow Geocologist Oni Ayodeji Anthony (Kingdoxxxx) for your support. Thank you for your bi-weekly support pledge of 5 poverty alleviation to support this political movement. I truly appreciate the encouragement and belief in this vision. May everything you lay your hands upon continue to prosper and grow. I am grateful for your support. Together we move forward. 🙏

SheikhMuniru:Thank you my brother. I understand your point. But democracy is about giving people choices. Sometimes people also want new ideas and new leadership. What matters most is good plans and good service to the people. If the people believe in the vision, they can support it. Let us continue the discussion. And please tell someone to tell another person. Together we can make Abeokuta North better. |
BeginsAtHome:Thank you my brother. You are right, talk is cheap. That is why I shared the policies so people can see the plans and also hold me accountable. Let us also give the youth a chance to serve and bring new ideas. With the support of the people, we can do something good for Abeokuta North. Please support and also tell someone to tell another person. Together we can make Abeokuta North better. |
Pootle:My brother, I understand what you said. Work is important. But if everybody faces only their personal work, then who will come out to serve the people and solve community problems? Leadership is also work. It is work to speak for the people and try to improve the community. That is why I shared these policies, so we can discuss ideas that can help Abeokuta North move forward. I believe with the support of the people, we can do better for our local government. Please support me, and also tell someone to tell another person. Together we can make Abeokuta North better. |
My 10-Point Policy Vision for a Cleaner, Organized and Progressive Abeokuta North Abeokuta North is one of the largest and most important local governments in Ogun State. Because of its closeness to Abeokuta South and its growing population, our communities should experience strong development, good environmental management, and proper urban organization. However, from careful observation of places like Lafenwa, Ita oshi and many other areas in Abeokuta North, we can clearly see that there are issues that need urgent attention. Environmental sanitation, roadside trading, transportation disorder, poor road maintenance, and lack of structured development planning are some of the challenges affecting the growth of our communities. My mission is not only to create new policies but also to review, update, and strengthen existing policies, many of which are already in place but are not properly enforced. Below is my 10-Point Policy Vision that will help move Abeokuta North to the next level of development. 1. Clean Abeokuta North Environmental Policy There must be stronger enforcement against dumping refuse on roads and in drainages. Anyone caught violating sanitation rules should face appropriate penalties to maintain a clean and healthy environment. 2. Strategic Waste Bin Placement The problem of dirt is not limited to Lafenwa alone. If one walks across different parts of Abeokuta North, almost every four kilometres there are refuse dumps scattered along the roadside. To address this,at least two large waste bins will be placed strategically in areas where refuse usually accumulates. These bins will be designed to accommodate waste for about three days. 3. Ward-Based Waste Collection System Waste management vehicles will operate within each ward and move around the communities every three days to collect and dispose of waste properly. This will prevent refuse from piling up on our roads. 4. Transportation and Parking Regulation There must be clear laws that prevent double parking and improper parking on major roads. Random parking creates congestion and sometimes leads to accidents. Proper parking zones will be established to ensure safe movement of vehicles and pedestrians. 5. Proper Transport Movement and Parks We must ensure proper taxi, motorcycle and tricycle movement within Abeokuta North. These transport operators should operate from designated parks, not randomly on the road. Inter-state transport vehicles must use proper motor parks or parking garages. They should not park or load passengers by the roadside. 6. Market and Road Usage Policy In many places, especially around Lafenwa, traders occupy almost one-third of the road to sell goods. Roads are meant for transportation, not permanent trading. There must be policies that ensure traders operate within proper market areas, not on the roadside. 7. Development of Organized Market Spaces Government should also improve and expand organized market spaces so traders can operate in a more structured and safe environment without blocking roads. This will support both economic activity and urban order. 8. Routine Road Maintenance Policy Roads must be regularly monitored. Whenever potholes or road damage appear, responsible authorities must respond quickly and repair them appropriately. Routine maintenance will prevent small road problems from becoming major infrastructure failures. 9. Planned Urban Development As a skilled draftsman, I strongly believe in proper planning and design. Through structured planning we can create organized transport parks, proper parking spaces, improved market layouts, and better infrastructure across Abeokuta North. 10. Education Discipline, Vocational Training and Digital Learning Education remains the foundation of development. As an educator, I have observed that many students in public schools across Abeokuta North sometimes lack proper discipline and learning motivation. Some students go to school very late, dress improperly, or carry phones that distract them from learning. There should be clear school discipline policies that promote punctuality, proper dressing, and responsible behavior among students. At the same time, we must motivate learners to develop useful skills. I will push for a policy where vocational education becomes part of the school system, with at least one day in a week dedicated to vocational and practical skills training. In addition, I will advocate for improved school facilities, especially in ICT and digital education, so that our students can compete in the modern world. Moving Abeokuta North Forward My goal is to ensure that policies are not only written on paper but strictly followed for the greater good of Abeokuta North. These policies are foundational steps toward taking Abeokuta North to the next level of cleanliness, organization, education, and development. A cleaner environment, organized transport system, disciplined education system, and well-planned communities will benefit every resident. Let the discussion continue. Support Hon. bosmann11:Thank you very much. I’m happy to hear from someone from Totoro Owu. Let’s keep the conversation going and work together for a better Abeokuta North. Your support means a lot. |
aalangel:Thank you for your observation and encouragement sis. Yes, I am young, but that is also the reason I want to serve. The Not Too Young To Run law has opened the door for young people to participate and bring new ideas into leadership. Young people understand many of the problems our communities are facing, and we are ready to work with experience and wisdom from elders to bring development to our people. You can also join this movement and support the vision for Abeokuta North. Support can come in many ways. For example: * Donations to support the campaign * Printing of campaign souvenirs like T-shirts, face caps, posters and banners * Branding of campaign vehicles * Public awareness materials and community outreach Every support counts, and no amount is too small. Together we can build a cleaner, better and more developed Abeokuta North. Thank you for your support. Hon. Ogunfeyitimi Tope Joshua Abeokuta North The New Generation Voice

happney65:You are correct. The main duty of a lawmaker is to make laws. That is the primary work of a member of the House of Assembly. But good lawmaking must start from the real problems the people are facing For example, look at Abeokuta North today. Many parts of the local government are very dirty. There is too much land pollution and waste everywhere. Drainages are blocked, refuse is dumped on roadsides, and the environment is not well managed. This is not just about sweeping the streets. It shows that we need strong environmental laws and proper enforcement. We need laws that will: * Control waste disposal * Punish illegal dumping of refuse * Encourage proper sanitation * Make local authorities responsible for keeping our communities clean A clean environment is very important for health, safety, and development. Aside from environmental laws, we also need laws that will improve: * Education * Youth empowerment * Agriculture * Security * Local economic development A lawmaker must also represent the people and speak for them. When the community is dirty, when schools lack facilities, when youths are unemployed, the lawmaker must bring these issues to the House and push for solutions. So yes, lawmaking is the main job, but it must be laws that solve real problems of the people. My goal is simple: To push for laws that will bring cleaner communities, better opportunities for youths, and real development in Abeokuta North. Politics should not just be about occupying a seat. It should be about making life better for the people. Hon. Ogunfeyitimi Tope Joshua Abeokuta North The New Generation Voice

AfroRemoteJobs:My brother, thank you very much for this strong support. I really appreciate it. We have been working together for a long time through the PAIN Project (Poverty Alleviation In Nigeria)and also as fellow Geocologists, so you understand the vision very well. The idea of bringing Entertainment, Agriculture and Technology (EAT) to the grassroots is very important, especially now that many young people need real work and real opportunities. Let us continue this journey together. Stay by me as always, just like we have always worked together in the PAIN Project. With unity and commitment we can help many young people and make real change. Thank you my brother. |
youngrichnigga:Thank you for your question and for taking the time to ask about my background. Yes, I have had Nairaland accounts in the past. I lost access to them, which is why this current account is new. My earlier username was @topyhanky, which I created around 2016. Later, I also used another account @safeopportunity, which I created around 2020. Earlier in this thread, I already shared the links to those old accounts to show my past activities. I would prefer not to repost the links again because repeated links can sometimes lead to a ban or restriction on Nairaland. Thank you for your understanding, and I appreciate your interest in the discussion. If you have more questions later, I will be happy to answer them |
youngrichnigga:Thank you for the question. I believe it is good for people to know what someone has done before talking about future plans. My background is in teaching, farming and youth development. I currently work as the Director of Vocational Studies at Ultimate Landmark Schools in Abeokuta. In this role, I encourage young people to learn practical skills, not just classroom theory. I always tell students that skills can help them stand on their own and succeed in life. Apart from teaching, I am also a farmer and a real agriculturist. I believe agriculture is one of the strongest ways to create jobs and fight poverty. Through our Triple A and T idea (Awareness, Action, Accountability and Technology), my team helped develop an integrated farm project in Owo, where we combined farming with practical training so people can learn agriculture and also produce food. Since 2020, I have also been working on a project called PAIN, which means Poverty Alleviation In Nigeria, The goal is to create opportunities and help reduce poverty. As part of that vision, we introduced PAC Coin, a digital project connected to the Ethereum blockchain. I am also a co-founder of Life Solutions Network, platform where we share ideas and opportunities that can help people improve their lives. All these things I have been doing are about helping people grow, learn skills and create opportunities. That same spirit is what I want to bring into public service for the people of Abeokuta North. |
SpencerForbes:Thank you for your honest comment, I understand your concern. But please understand that sometimes I use tools to help arrange my thoughts properly, especially when replying to many people online. The ideas and intentions are still my own, and the vision I’m sharing for Abeokuta North is genuine. What matters most is the commitment to serve the people well. I also believe the youth must step forward and lead with sincerity, new ideas, and accountability. That is exactly what I stand for. I appreciate your concern and I’m always open to real discussions. |
