Abuja hasnt really grown since the last time i visited before my last week visit. the current expansion of Abuja is happening in it slums
that is how a country develops, not a one city development like you have in Kenya.

Nigeria practices federalism(partially) as such each state develops like a country.

But I think you need to visit Abuja again, you missed Abuja

When you have 0 tourists one year and the next year you get 1 tourist, that's 100% growth in tourist numbers. Also, Ethiopian Airlines makes her money ferrying Africans without national airlines like Nigerians, not tourists to Ethiopia. Critical thinking is what you lack. lipsrsealed
Australia has no national Airline, Kenya isn't up to a street in Australia, so what exactly are you yapping about.

Only 2 Nigeria owned airlines are enough to rival anything Kenya has in aviation.

Nigerians are many in North Korea, Eritrea and host of other hostile countries. Nothing special in visiting Kenya. In fact I have a friend who visited Kenya for the wildlife experience and he back fulfilled because your wild life was amazing
Including watching Kenya's perform like animals.

Nigerians naturally love to go places, we love to explore other Countries. Few years ago I was broke and still a teenager yet visited more than 7 West African countries before returning home to horn my skills.
Traveling they say is part of education.
Don't blame me for poverty that makes Kenyans stick their asses down even when it's burning

Hahahahahahha I don read comments tire and na only laugh i just dey laugh out. Nairaland is a funny place walahi.
Anyways shaa, I've had my pretty share of girl's wahala both in home and abroad. As I write now, I've been wooing one particular girl for almost six months now, all she does is to treat me as if I don't exist and she's so busy with her work. She doesn't even write me even to say Hi, if I write her it will take her like two days before she reads and respond (sometimes she doesn't reply) to my message. I'm getting tired already but I like this babe and would marry her if she says yes. I hinted her about my intention from the very first day we went on our first date and she was happy and she told me how she would like to settle down and have just two kids. But the habit of not talking with me as often as we should is disturbing me. Though she told me about her boyfriend/ex which they have just broken up after 7yrs in a relationship. Could that be the reason she's being sceptical about me or she's not just into me? Can somebody help me out and advise me?
she is not sceptical, she hasn't fully broken up with her boyfriend, ignore her totally, if you eventually get her, the relationship will always be a one sided thing. And if you are ready to 100% be in charge of the relationship without her sweating to keep it.then continue wooing her. And if you love your sanity quit wooing her.

your opinions are always littered with ignorance. How were they mass producing weapons, what do you know about their economy. back then virtually everything of quality that ever got produced were of USSR just like China of today. They had the natural resources to back up their development but were hindered solely by the political, cultural and religious differences. Only Russia was concerned with weapons while the rest regions focused on boosting the economy.

This is too much for the Tanzanian - man from a communist state - that together with Nigeria and DRC - are dragging down Africa in every index imaginable. You know TZ gov because it tries to compete with Kenya - ordered the building of skyscrappers few years ago (now they have ordered for Boeing Dream-liners smiley - and now the gov built skyscrapers are half-empty while the dreamliners fly with six customers typically - and there is office glut in Dar Slums - because of small private sector.

Get out of the gov sky-scrappers built by their gov last decade - and Dar is a sea of slums.

You know the country is about size of Nigeria - and outside Dar there is nothing. Their capital city Dodoma is a market center.

Go to Tanzania rural place - you'll see a sea of poverty - poor peasant who don't even own the land - leasing gov land to grow maize and beans. Try their failed education system - despite English being taught for 12yrs - they cannot speak it.

Ghana is a very progressive nation that is nearly becoming a proper middle class.
currently one of the worlds biggest programmer, Twitter CEO is in Lagos dancing gbe body and zanku, eating our local food, employing our young developers. He knows where the great African minds are, and decided to pay them a visit.

ok. One thing to note, in the 70s-90s the Japanese were the wonder kids of the world, they almost matched the US in every thing. One would think by now they'd be ahead but whatever happened, they lost track and fell off. China I think still lacks quality development. But they are doing great in managing their population, the question is, how long can she stand.? USSR tried But failed ( system failure) the Japanese tried but failed too.

Ghana government plans to process 50% of cocoa in country – Owusu-Agyeman
December 16, 2018 General News, Lead Story Comments Offon Ghana government plans to process 50% of cocoa in country – Owusu-Agyeman

Facebook Twitter Google + Stumbleupon LinkedIn Pinterest

Hackman Owusu-Agyeman – Board Chairman of the Ghana Cocoa Board
The Board Chairman of the COCOBOD, Mr. Hackman Owusu-Agyeman says the government is planning to process 50 per cent of the cocoa that is produced in the country.

He also said government was playing its part to achieve the set target of one million-tonne cocoa production for the 2018/2019 crop season.

Ghana is the second largest producer of cocoa in the world after Ivory Coast.

He said these when Mr. Harold Poelma, the President of Cargill Cocoa & Chocolate led a delegation to pay courtesy calls on the Chairman of COCOBOD and the Minister of Food and Agriculture as part of activities marking ten years of Cargill in Ghana.

A statement issued by Cargill and copied to the Ghana News Agency said the Minister of Food and Agriculture, Dr. Owusu Afriyie Akoto, congratulated Cargill on its anniversary and the immense job it has been doing to improve the sector with global best practices.

He said government was fully committed to alleviating socio-economic challenges in the cocoa sector and pledged his Ministry’s unflinching support for Cargill.

Mr. Poelma thanked the Minister for his drive and vision towards a sustainable cocoa sector and Cargill’s contribution in that regard.

He said Cargill was committed to continue investments in the sector, and that, Cargill is open to dialogue with the government to improve the cocoa sector.

The Cargill delegation also visited the Ghana Cocoa Board (COCOBOD) and was welcomed by Mr. Hackman Owusu-Agyemang, the Chairman of COCOBOD, who was full of praise for Cargill’s business model acknowledged Cargill’s contributions and positive impacts on the cocoa sector over the last ten years.

Mr Owusu-Agyemang congratulated Cargill on a decade of innovation; touching on the installation of the fully-automated digital solar system at the Tema plant and called for cooperation towards a sustainable environment.

He said government was playing its part to achieve the set target of one million-tonne cocoa production for the 2018/2019 crop season and 50 per cent of cocoa to be processed in Ghana.

In response, Mr. Pieter Reichert, the Managing Director for Cargill’s cocoa and chocolate business in Ghana, expressed Cargill’s readiness for further collaborations and Cargill’s role in ensuring environmental sustainability.

He also outlined the outcome of Cargill’s traceability-focused fully e-money enabled Licensed Buying Company; Cargill Kokoo Sourcing Company Limited.

“Since its establishment, 13,000 cocoa farmers have benefitted from a total of GH¢6 million in premium payments and currently covers 11 districts,’’ he said.

He also drew the Chairman’s attention to the unfairness in the light crop industry and encouraged the COCOBOD to take steps in addressing it.

A tenth-anniversary commemorative dinner was also held; where the executives of Cargill engaged with sector stakeholders on ways to reinvigorate Ghana’s cocoa sector.

It is expected that these engagements will help Cargill continue to bolster farmer confidence in the cocoa sector.

Yes about time - because the industry can easily double it's earning - and because the money will go to individual farms - that will really dent poverty in rural places - rather than hot oil money.

I don't think one district one factory is going anywhere - Kenya have had such similar hair-brained ideas - Economic Stimulus - and they have failed.

What works is Ethiopia kind of industrial parks.

It should be one industrial park one district. Gov buys or provide land that can house several industries - provide horizontal infrastructures - roads, water, housing and sewage - and then invite foreign and local investors to set up factories.

it is just that the development is not as coverd as it is in Ghana and is market is not as developed as such.
