I went for my appointment yesterday...but it was discovered that my letter of commitment bears 90 days, I was given the option of either going back to get the correct one or go on with the application.. NB: my sponsor has opted to request for a new one from foreign office since I went ahead with the application. He plans to fax the new one to the embassy and also reach out to foreign office regarding this...pls Is there a possibility of them obliging this request or affecting their decision positively? |

Ezemeiyogu: I thought there was something more hurtful until this one happened!
Waited for a year plus to get appointment date.
While doing so, I made contacts of potential sponsors, got promises of "we really looking for someone". Other times, the people I got went to the "RAT" house and were disapproved. AD came and to hold on 9th of August. Had made all humanly possible contacts to raise money for block account to no avail. Even got one person in Germany who said he will block it but someone in Germany with landed property must sign collateral and with 100€ interest on every 1000€. No one I know can take such risk of signing for me. I'm not someone who usually gets defeated but at a point like this, I clearly see what defeat is.
Now, I'm left with the highest confusion in my head. How do people survive this kind of adversity?
I question myself and lack answers...
Should I write email for rescheduling, on what grounds is that? If I have a ground, can I meet up with blocking account should they give me two weeks notice again?
Should I cancel an already given appointment? what effect will that have on my passport number? So, I have extra one year to wait again? Or will they even trash my application and put me in a distant position for throwing such opportunity?
Should I just request for exmatriculation from my school and, rest for some time and start application to other countries?
My head full! Nairalander say a word to me please. I'm facing similar challenge with you, the only difference is that I'm not using German embassy in naija, I have rescheduled from august to September yet I don't have SL nor blocked account, but if I could get the option someone who could block for me, I have someone might be willing to sign...irony of life |

I just got a German resident who has volunteered to get me SL on my behalf. Please a quick one, will the letter be addressed to the German Embassy in Nigeria?
Who has a sample? I don't mind the person blocking off all his details to serve as a guide. Must it equally be hard copy, I mean sent from Germany?
Thanks Please ohh...people of God, I need SL |

Alamsvcc: I will only advise you with two options based on my own experience last year. 1. Accept the admission given to you if and only if ; A. There is a possibility for you to enroll online, pay the semester fee and possibly take one or two courses with them online while waiting for your one year waiting period to elapse. 2. Accept the admission, then go for a LEGIT Residence Permit outside here bearing in mind that it will also take six months from the date of issuance before you can use it to apply for your student visa in that country. In my own case, it took three to four months for them to process it for me in one of the French countries I got their Residence Permit. It was digital and in stages. But the last stage was when I was called to come for biometric Data capture and submission of bank account statement of that country which they require a minimum of 50k CFa in the account. Don't mind my long story. I'm saying this because your success tomorrow will give you the morale to advise another person. On my day of interview at the embassy last week, they first of all collected the Residence Permit, qued in the number in their system to verify it's originality, they compared my data used for the Residence Permit with the one obtainable in my passport and that of my Nigerian national I.D card. They drilled me with various questions concerning their country all for the purpose of finding out if I actually live there.... but thanks be to God I spent a week there when I visited there the first time for data capture and opening of Bank account. So I was able to answer him confidently. Imagine some questions like; 1. Where do you live in Togo? ( Remember he has the address you used for your Residence Permit in his system. He just want you to Bleep up by not saying another thing or even pronouncing the address wrongly. 2. When did you come here? (Bear in mind the time you started processing the Residence Permit because he is already seeing it in the computer and the date of the issuance.) 3. What are you doing in togo? 4. How much do you make in a month?
Remember after all these, we then started the main interview. I spent about 45mins with him.
Pls in the name of God, go for legit Residence Permit or you wait patiently for one year here! Because your sin will find you out once you go with fake. Trust Germany in data storage. Please I have my permit which is about six months old, are required to present IELTS to prove you are English speaker coming from an English speaking country ...pls can I write you privately |

My brother has been in Cameroon for 11 months now and currently has the residence permit.
He has applied for masters programme in Germany and he is expecting his admission anytime soon.
The question now is, is it possible to process the study permit in Cameroon or he has to travel back to Nigeria to book an appointment date.
Is there possibility of granting the visa while in Cameroon? Going by policy, his permit has to be upto six months for him to apply at embassy there |

Itohan252775: is there a way possible in nigeria to get your appointment date sooner for group B There is nothing like Category B in other countries...that thing is only peculiar to Nigeria because of our population and probably how we try to cut corners in everything. Its actually a control measure for the Embassy in Nigeria, and most of this African countries are not keen to travel unlike Nigerians...our problem as a country plenty abeg |

MICng: I know of someone you submitted for more than three months but haven't still gotten the resident permit. Lol...of course, presently their machine for card printing is down...your person could have such delays if he/she followed the due process without doing what Nigerians do best..you know what I mean..even if you succeed in capturing, they must pay you a visit at home and your fictitious shop, and they might even request for your utility bills. That being said, they suspect Nigerians a lot and at the same time expect us to do what we know how to do best. Now back to your person..it possible his/her file was kept somewhere unattended to because him follow due process. But let me blow your mind, you can get that stuff in less than 3 weeks without the visiting and all that and let me even shock you the more, you can capture today and get your card next day by 8 am |

Elninoarmando: I was in Cotonou-Benin Republic, for a resident permit from January to March this year. The process was moving smoothly till it was time to submit the whole documents to their immigration office. I couldn't thumb print or take photograph because their central electronic system was being repaired. It was only in August that they repaired their system.By that time i've even had my visa interview at the German consulate,Lagos.
Required documents from Nigeria to take along- (1.)Police character from Alagbon police station (2.)Birth certificate attestation from national population census (3.)Passport (5.)Passport photographs(about eight) (6.)Yellow card(you get this at seme border)
Required documents in Benin Republic- (1.)Attestation resident(the mayor/chief in your resident zone/area has to certity that you're living there) (2.)Legalization of (1.) at the Marie (3.) Translation of birth certificate (4.)Medicals(you have to be tested for HIV) (5.)Carte judiciary (their court has to certify some documents) (6.)Impo(tax) (7.)Submission fee When you're through with all these, you submit them at the immigration office. The officers will come and verify if truly you're living in the mentioned apartment and might also come to your shop. It takes about 2-3 months for it to be ready. The date of issuance of the permit is when you start counting for the next six months or more, which qualifies you to apply for a visa with it. Keep about N200K - N300K or more for the journey. The bottom line is-you must have someone reliable in Benin Republic for this to pull through. All the best. I must say you are grounded...I got mine 7th October..they have changed a bit...they require registre du certificate and attestation de fiscale which is almost 140k, still paid at impol...I suffer no be small, but I got it..it is shocking to know that the embassy there is deserted... You equally missed Nigerian consular card on that list, currently their machine is down...from the right source...if interested let me know |

. What did you see on their website?...for you to apply there, you need a resident permit that is up to 6months. Please people should follow the right procedure in other not to block access for nigerians.. You can't access visa in another country without having their resident permit unless you carry an (A) list county's passport |

efenurevic: I spoke to an embassy staff today - sadly I must say that there is really no good news for most under Category B. It's better to spend the energy going to other countries. That is not to say that there are no Cat B getting ADs. Nonetheless, when you imagine the numbers getting to the numbers applying, a priori, you wonder what hope there is.
Even if you have paid '000s in fees it does not matter to them.
I would advise a graduate with no more than 5 years of experience to try schools in Austria or Belgium.
This is frustrating and sad - but it is what it is. why the "no more than 5 years experience please? I have almost 10 years working experience... Is it an advantage |
