A Presidential candidate must be able to tell voters why the opposition party must be rejected, a good candidate must be able to tell the voters where & how the opposition have failed and do not deserve power. He must be able to convince the voting public why the opposition are not better than you.
Sometimes, you might have similar areas of manifestos but it is the ability of a candidate to point out the failures and weaknesses of the opposition oftentimes appeals to the voting public.

NCNC was founded in 1944, Macaulay died in 1946. The first election NCNC participated came in 1951, 5 years after the death of Macaulay. Do you expect Macaulay wake up and mobilize victory for his party from the grave?. It was therefore the responsibility of Zik being the President of the party to deliver.

There is a reason as to why in the annals of our history, when NCNC is mentioned Zik is remembered and it’s averagely taken as a Zik party and its followers called Zikites and not Macaulayers.
