Red flags everywhere. It has reached where they are threatening party chieftains to campaign for a choice they are not comfortable with. So it is coercive politics. This is a tip of things to come.
Like how Fr.Mbaka was coerced & shut down.

ganisucks:
You dont understand politics. Let me explain what transpired yesterday. To know Ngige, one only needs to know his track record. Ngige never pitches his rent with losers. In 2014, one week after he found out that APC would become the ruling party he immediately switched camps and dumped the PDP. Now, he has realized that Obi will win, he is slowly withdrawing from APC. Ngige is not like FFK who relishes milking the desperation of losing candidates. If you check FFK's track record you will notice that he always pitches his rent with losing candidates. That is the difference between FFK and Ngige. These are the things people should notice not bicycles or fake rallies.
Upper iweka analysts, una no dey tire.

APGA and ACN are regional parties.
Does that justify Obi labelling ACN aYoruba party, inciting voters not to vote for Ngige?
Why was he playing tribal politics?

I am a lay man....I count progress by my purchasing power. I count progress by the infrastructural development around me. I count progress by the strength of naira, etc.....omg, may God punish all the werey politicians ruining this country! May God punish them to their 10th generation! Whew!
Emotions dropping out of your soul like a leaking oil pipeline which has been the bane of folks like you that have been often fed with negative narratives about the country through false propaganda.
You see the country as half empty whereas progressive Nigerians see it as half full. And if there's any better viable way of counting a progress, it'd be through analysing the investment of the past in determining the present. Can you compare the major revenue earnings of the last 16 yrs with the present or the infrastructures of the last 16 yrs with the present?.. That's how to measure progress.
Rather than live with negative vibes, embrace the positivity of Emilokan.

I would rather not monopolize market for Dangote....I would open up opportunities for others so wealth can be evenly distributed! If the market is too steep for others to partake, then the essence of location market development will be defeated. Several businesses had to close factories in this Bubu's era. Diesel is too golden to afford! So guess who us suffering the most, the end user who had to use money for 10 to buy only one!
Are you now shifting your argument from production to monopoly? and who told you that tomatoes industry is a monopoly market?. Pls, stick to what you know abeg.
What has closure of factories related with the issue of importation.even though, you are obviously ignorant of the amount of FDI the country had attracted in couple of years.

Is China not meeting local consumption before exporting? Why should you restrict importation when local production is not meeting consumption?
If China had proposed unrestricted importations would they have had the capacity to meet its local production?. Use your brain.

In your myopic mind, those countries do not import. Look at what your Buhari economics has put the whole country in. You and you ilk should be stopped even from teaching a primary school pupil because there is nothing in your heads.
How many imports do China allow in their country?. After all, Ibos have turned Nigeria into China dumping ground, so how much reciprocity does China allow for Nigeria products in their country?

Your children will then have to eat more varieties of pepper....you know how many there are? By the way, some people make millions from pepper selling o, you know how much Dangote earns on his tomatoes production? You are really so myopic....think beyond your now, tomorrow is important too. The old man you're rooting for is tired, imagine voting another tired old performer after the current tired guy. You guys just want to turn Aso Rock to a retirement home! Nigeria deserves more....be kind.
Rightly so, our intelligence is beginning to sharpen your blunt edges. With emphasis on "Dangote's production", which brings us to the critical point of the discuss. Would you rather KILL Dangote's earnings on tomatoes production just to fulfill your gluttonous lusts for reckless unrestricted importation of unhealthy canned tomatoes from foreign countries?
You better be careful where these Obi's container theories dey carry you dey go.

Oga! How will local manufacture grow when the cost of production is astronomical?

How will people's per capital income be favourable when they buy local products at astronomical prices?

Biko we are not ready for local production, let's stop punishing people to keep up with very low purchasing people while making the few people who could afford local production rich. You too can invest in importation and employ people biko. The import products have value chain that needs people to service, you know....job will still be available within the value channel of distribution.

Fix the means of local production before forcing it down the throat of people! Imagine, bread is now N1000.....biko let us import N100 bread o. Awon werey!
This pepper seller keep sounding incredibly pathetic with the amount of emptiness that oozes from its head.
Imagine a slug wanting us to import #100 bread just because she wants to eat her future today.

The means of local production is by encouraging SMEs to boosts local manufacturing and NOT by KILLING them. I cast and bind every demons of zombidient in your life.

Tinubu's unique emotional intelligence needs to be studied in Harvard. Despite the backstabbings and betrayals by many associates he had helped from the gutters to the peak, he still has the purest heart of forgiveness.
Obi, on the other hand is a snake, who possesses the same vindictive character of Wike.
Fr.Mbaka is a victim of Obi's vindictiveness.

I wont read all but let me just answer the question you asked at the beginning....

We both know prices do not come down in Nigeria except if there is a serious shock to the market....he created the artificial high rise when he closed the border and gave hoarders the idea of creating the artificial scarcity....its the norm here.

Why do you think diamonds are so expensive? You think they are rare? LOL.

Diasporans who earned in dollars are selling their dollars at the black market rate in the one on one market as if the high cost in Nigeria affected their earnings in far away US. What do you think made the dollar costly in their hands? Biko no more talk on this matter....may God rid this country of destructive politicians and those before them! Enough is enough!
If you won't read all, it means you are either intellectually lazy or deficient or both. Therefore, It's needless reading all you scribbled as well.
If Obi is mooting the idea of unrestricted access to importation, further depreciation that would hit the naira would be a child's play especially in the midst of low oil production and revenue with attendant oil price fluctuations.
Obi who himself is one of the biggest importers of consumer goods in the last 30years without no production outfit, is scheming to further enrich his cabals of importers at the detriment of the economy.

It is pointless arguing with an ignorant folk who is as dumb as a stone. I would rather refer you to go read up on Tinubu's profile. Tinubu had worked and attained the Apex of his career at some of the world's top firms that Obi with his 3rd class in Philosophy can never be employed as a gateman.

You started well and ended woefully, bro economist.

Since they weren't able to solve the insecurity issue, Buhari tenure made it worse, should we then go hungry and watch things become incredibly hard at home? Bread is now N1,050 from N250 during Jonathan's regime. Let's allow the economist pangolo help us while the current gurus take a bow. Buhari made insecurity worse, economy worse.....even the air in naija has become worse in his regime. To make matters worse, he and his people are proposing another medically unfit person to come and continue where he stopped. Too bad for Nigeria....too blawdy bad! Enough of sentiments, we were doing much more better when we couldn't even produce toothpicks. Better then than now that were kept failing at self sufficiency!
If emotions prevail over intelligence, you easily be fed the trash you deserve. Since Buhari lifted the blockage across the boarders about a year ago, what has changed?. Indiscriminate pricing, hoarding and consumer exploitations have been on the increase. With the current infrastructures ( trains, roads & CBN's agric initiatives) templates, security becomes the priority - must be top on the list of any serious-minded Presidential candidate.
If you'd upgrade your knowledge to understand the fact that the country have been able to increase investments in critical sectors than the last 16 years. You bother too much about food but less about the making of the food.
Need I remind you, if you miss Tinubu, you most likely would have missed you greatest opportunity for a better tomorrow for you & your kids.

True,

No, they aren't dumb. More like a lot of Nigerians rely on imports for business and manufacturing, and the dollar restrictions means they can't buy dollars for their business. The comment , while flawed, is also calculated to appeal to them
He should have stuck to previous idea of transforming the country to a production economy rather than pandering to the complete opposite theory. The solution should be geared towards increasing the forex availability to critical sectors.

Even if they want us to start enlarging local production, sebi they would have created the means for that before restricting the importation....I can't believe what Buhari did to rice....the guy is unbelievable! Now cassava and other previously locally produced products are mimicking import prices
of other foods . Awon werey. Enough of Ribbish....Peter Obi for president o....even though I know Tinubu no go green. The guy na hailing don!
Solve the lingering insecurity and watch Nigeria become the biggest Agriculture hub in Africa. If our farmers could be safe in farms, best believe, we can feed west Africa sufficiently.
But the dumb idea of Obi removing import restrictions is the quickest route to killing our economy, ironically, he was talking about the policy of moving from consumption to production. He doesn't come off as someone who knows his economics, obviously a gibberish a container economist would say. And if you sure sound like one of such pepper sellers who easily gets carried away by bogus & disastrous theories.

Yet, during his time as a governor, he Peter Obi patronized Nigerian made products. He was the first to buy 1000 units of Innoson motors. Go and verify. The government of today, how many of the indigenous car production company are they patronizing?
He bought innoson products as a Governor with state's funds, not his personal money. Obi is one of the biggest importers of consumption goods in the country spanning 30years. Obi is a complete dunce.

Increasing import taxes is quite different from removing import restrictions. Removing import restrictions is a killer to any economy, you literally exporting employment abroad & dire consequences on local production.
Shamefully, this idea is opposed to his idea of transforming the country from consumption to production. I think Obi & his loud-mouthed supporter are the dumbest set of humans on earth.
