clinician2x: Let me make it clear to u in succinct terms. As long as that nonsense continues to function, it will add only but negative values to the Nigerian economy. There can never be a time Nigeria will earn zero economic value from that rubbish. It will always be in the negative. Hahaha. Stupid fashola in his mind is proving obi wrong when the results from his own office are saying otherwise
Rubbish.
When we begin to build and connect each regions with trains , pls don't use them. moreover, you can as well ask the Governors in your region to stop spending on infrastructures, infact you can go set Anambra airport on fire, that's your own cup of Kanu urine. ipob illiterate.
clinician2x: So you're saying a white elephant project that cost the federal government N1.7 billion ($4.7 million) to construct each kilometre of the186km Abuja-Kaduna rail and is being used by less than 1% of Nigerians will some day in the future start benefiting Nigerian economy? Are you not being fooled now sir?
The worst is the tickets are even subsidized hehe. So when the subsidy is removed what happens? Tickets bcom super-expensive and people go japa, train go ground and billions of dollars wasted hehe.
Yes, you have been fooled. Pls before u leave this earth, try and justify the education you have spent time and money acquiring.
You don't even understand what an elephant project means, you just throwing words around like a dummy. For your information, Rail projects is the mordern reformation in Nigeria. All the six geopolitical region would be connected to each other, from the urban to the rural areas. If you don't like it, you can run to Somalia. There's nothing wrong in FG subsidizing train tickets to begin with. In developed countries, Government subsidizes big tech & Auto companies. There's also a reason producers give discount on their goods to make it cheaper for the customers. Subsidy is an interventionist policy that Government employ in certain situations. Unfortunately, Aba- made Education is inferior to understanding the fundamentals.
fanzine: You that is shouting lekki up and down. Can you afford to live or have a property in lekki?. Do you know how much revenue your so called Tinubu generates from lekki till date.
You don't have to live in Lekki, Lekki free trade zone is a project that will trickle down to the rural areas. When operations fully begins, the imported goods through the seaport would get to you. The petrol from Dangote refinery would get to your mother in the village.
Moreover, as a personal accountant to Tinubu, if you have a proof how much Tinubu generates from Lekki, pls show us.
obynzo: Oga Nigeria presently is divided into states. We are not talking about ancestry. Descendants in Lagos have been demarcated into the boundary known as Lagos. You are not in that boundary so go back to your state. You guys keep using fake Yoruba unity to cheat Lagos indigenes in the name of Yoruba Lawa. It is like stealing your cousin's money or his inheritance and saying that he won't mind because we have the same grandfather. Abeg leave that rubbish.
You don't share ancestry in Alaigbo, 1st class ibos are different from 2nd class ibos who are also different from 3rd class wawa ibos. In Yorubaland, there's no such caste system, everyone is equal. The Aworis in Lagos are same as Aworis in Ogun. Ibos in Abia are lesser than ibos in Anambra but a Yoruba man in Togo is no different from the one in Ekiti. Ibos will never rise above petty intra- tribalism amongst each other till the end of time.
clinician2x: You are not answering my question. There is no where i said borrowing money is wrong. Even obi cannot say such. USA is in debt same as China. But what matters most is what do u do with the money u borrow.
I am asking you. What is the economic benefit of the railway and trains Nigeria borrowed huge amounts to build. Shebi na infrastructure? And by far one of the most expensive infrastructure in Nigeria today. What is the economic advantages of that infrastructure and how much does it add to nigerian economy? That is the question.
The annual budget for maintaining that rail system is more than the annual revenue it generates. That is why Obi said you cannot drive nigerian economy with stuffs like this. You need to stop borrowing to fund these things. Identify local content manufacturers and fund them to produce more. When they produce more, u increase salaries to increase purchasing power so that people will buy more. By buying more people will pay more VAT and the GDP will grow. When the GDP increases, the economy is growing.
Obi is a trader and he understands these things. Unfortunately however the people he is telling are zombies. They are just brain dead, roaming around aimlessly and ignorantly. They have eyes but they don't see, ears but do not hear, brains but they do not think.
That is why someone will borrow away ur future, build train systems u do not need and like a zombie u come out and be clapping because u cannot see the real intents and purposes of that project.
Spits
Abuja-Kaduna rail is a capital project that is supposed to recoup its funding over a long period of time. FG only subsidizes the costs to enable citizens afford the costs more. It is preposterous to condemn a functioning project just because it was temporarily hit by insecurity challenges. When it fully resumes, it would further boost efficiency and productivity. Trains have been a Target of terrorist attacks in countries as France, Belgium, UK, etc.. it is just a temporary set back. if we had Lagos - Calabar rail, would you imagine how massive it would boost the economy. Infrastructure is the most important priority in every world economy. No manufacturer can build without infrastructures. Government subsidizes fertilizer to Farmers, also subsidizes manufacturers with importation of heavy factory machineries. Without Infrastructures there can't be production. Electricity is an infrastructure, without which production is useless. Refinery is an infrastructure without which you can't refine hydrocarbons. Pls, stop embarrassing your family because you want to blindly defend a fraud that knows nothing about economics. You're a waste of space.
obynzo: Oga face Osun state and worry about the infrastructure in your state of Osun and stop claiming Lagos
Why must i face Osun when the descendants of Lagos indigenes migrated from ile- ife. You will never understand that Yoruba will always be Yoruba anywhere & everywhere, the mystery is bigger than ibos.
obynzo: Again you have just demonstrated sheer ignorance who told you Nnewi and Onitsha are just markets? There industrial layouts there with Industries the local, the Chinese and the Indian industries are there. Travel a lot so that you would have sense.
Pls, leave out Chinese and Indian industries. We're talking Anambra industrialists.. give us statistics.. dazall
rollywise: You father committed blunder birthing you. Did Obi not recently mention education as human infrastructure you have to first develope before any other infrastructure? Oh you not current I guess. Who is better amongst the three contestants The other two and their cohorts and godfathers and structures as you call it has ran this country aground. No one has hope in this country anymore and you here schooling who? At this time?? I have heard all of them speak and I'm perplexed at the level of experience in OBI. He's a man who knows what he's talking and doing at same time with proofs to show. If it's just curbing the excess spending in government, that's a great achievement for me for a start. Go sleep jor
Obi is a fraud. Little wonder he graduated with 3rd class in Philosophy after 10 years. You are a product of poor and jaundiced Education. How can the fraud says infrastructures do not drive an economy and you are here defending his blunders. You are a total waste of space.
clinician2x: How much value is the railway systems funded by Chinese loans adding to the production capacity of nigeria?
How can you borrow money to build railway but the annual budget to maintain the railway is more than the revenue?
Nigeria is a true reflection of it's leaders because most of u people are empty and loquacious.
When has it been an economic crime to borrow money for capital infrastructures?.. Is there any developed country in the world that doesn't borrow to build infrastructures? Once upon a time, we had Nigerian airways but it was grinded to a halt as a result of corruption. if it had been well managed, it would have had multiplier effect on the standard of living of average Nigerians. Does/Would corruption invalidate the importance of infrastructures? If we had a Lagos- Calabar rail line, do you have an idea how massive that would improve the economy. The fact that we are blighted by corruption & insecurity challenges, does that mean we should be fooled by Obi's blunders. What a shame.
REDshouse: please Define Human Capital without Infrastructure.... you need to put infrastructure first in place where u can now teach or lecture your citizen on how to use or earn from it...
no classrooms but you want to teach ur students ...
These are ipob illiterates. Handing over Nigeria to them will further destroy our economy. Reading how gullible they are brings tears to my eyes.
Human capital itself is an infrastructure, Education is an infrastructure. Without Infrastructures, there can't be production, there can't be productivity and there can't be growth & development.
micflo28: Obidient is not just about infrastructure, it is about production. If we cannot refine even a barrel of oil we use, then we have failed as a nation.
Pls, I beg you ipobs, stop embarrassing this country abeg. Can you produce without infrastructures?.. Is Refinery not an infrastructure?.. Can you refine oil without a refinery?
Pls face your 2×2 and leave economics for us. pls. you guys are traders, you only buy & sell.
Saintinoo: I was in the Northeast in 2015 till almost 2020, the Hausa and Buhari supporters were making the same statement you just made about giving time and everything will work.
I told them same thing I will tell you now, with a plan, I mean visible plan and blueprint, no project can be accomplished.
Infrastructure in Nigeria is a big show off, every politician is building just to show off, they are not hitting the target, they are even building these things at the wrong places.
If you talk about corruption and insecurity, it is the business of the government, be it present or incoming to tackle that.
Education itself is an infrastructure. Without it, you can't build on anything. I have never been this ashamed of ignorant folks defending Obi's blunders. Do you understand what infrastructure is?.. Can you define it?.. Can there be production without infrastructures?.. Oh my!
How on Earth will u say building infrastructure is the main way of driving economy.... Yes infray drives economy but it's a policy undertaken by economics when there is a down turn in economic growth.. this is . In period of recession...
But in an ideal moment if a president is aiming to ginger an economy.. it's best to encourage massive investment, be it foreign or local... And. Off all the types of investment that has been proven to help economic growth... Production has. Been the. Most viable.. because in production.. the GDO and. gNP of a Nation grows.. employment rate. Grows.. national income grows, trade deficit is reduced, exchange rate appreciate and international respect and export grows... So in which way is insfrastrure as a means of driving the economy now surerer than investment I. E production...?
Explain sir... I am waiting... And plz don't chicken out
Without Infrastructures, there can never be production. Do you even understand the meaning of infrastructure?. I don't think you do.
McCoy662: Without investing in agriculture itself, the infrastructure would be useless and nothing will be stored or transported.
Agriculture itself is infrastructure. Where do Ipobs get their Education ffs! You guys should understand the meaning of infrastructure before coming to public forum to embarrass yourselves. Abeg.
logicalhumour: WTF did I just read? I really hope you realize what you just did.
In a bid to sound smarter than me, you couldn't even read my entire post. Did you read the last two paragraphs of my post? You missed the part where I said Production easily translate to Infrastructure, and how I likened it to something like killing two birds with a single stone.
You're right. We shouldn't be sharing a country
My friend keep quiet. Production translates to infrastructure my ass!.. How would you produce without infrastructures? ipob illiterates.
ElSudani: Spot on! God bless you. Why mention China a million times when you had eight years to at least practice what you are preaching on a state level. The only thing he could point out was a bad investment in a brewery.
He belongs to the Chinese School of thought YET he says infrastructures do not drive the economy. How do you reconcile that?. That man is a fraud.
PresidObi: The best way to improve the economy is to create enabling environment for the masses to take over productive ventures and make profit, then pay tax.
Before talking about Enabling environment, people want the basic amenities of life which are food, shelter, water, power, jobs and security - all these are infrastructures. On the other hand, soft loans, low interest rates etc are the ease of doing business. Oh my!. The quality of Education in that region is very poor and absymal. Pls, face your 2×2 and stop embarrassing this country. Obi will never be President, little wonder he had a 3rd class in Philosophy after spending 10 yrs.
Golan007: Is stable electricity not infrastructure?
My brother, abeg ask them o. These ipob illiterates do not understand the basic meaning of infrastructures. And see them everywhere arguing blindly. I'm so pissed with these guys. They should focus on their 2×2 and leave economics alone, they don't know Jack about economics. Peter Obi is making them disgrace their ancestors here.
adedayoa2: They are both right, everyone has something to say but when they get there they start misbehaving.
Plssss, I beg of you, Obi is completely wrong. Infrastructure is the most important to any advanced, developed or developing economies in the world. Without infrastructures, there can't be production, without infrastructures, there simply can't be economic growth and development. It's fundamental economics. These guys are 2×2 traders, they should focus on their buying & selling and leave economics alone for people who understand economics.
I might know nothing to challenge someone like Fashola, but him making a statement such as "building infrastructures is the way to legitimately distribute wealth in an economy."...like seriously? Do Nigerians throw away common sense when it comes to politics?
Like, for example, how many people did the second Niger bridge employ, and where are they today? As opposed to refining diesel, or a steel plant producing steel and constantly employing common Nigerians for decades and decades?
He talked about how infrastructure automatically increases the demand for the materials used in building them. He forgot to mention how short-lived this demand is. Worse of all, we all know that we import the steel and our diesel!
I think watching this video of Fashola today has made me a die hard OBIdient tbfh. Obi is like a million steps ahead of these guys in thinking productively.
I mean, how about you work on producing your steel and diesel before thinking about Infrastructure? He spoke about millions of litres of diesel, tons and tons of steel used for that Niger bridge, etc. Any smart person who sees the bigger picture will easily see how 'building infrastructure' in our current setting easily translates to consumption (since we'll be importing the lot of skills and materials!)
Isn't it obvious that production can easily translate to building infrastructure if prioritised in a country like Nigeria?
Prioritising production is like killing a thousand birds with one stone.
My f#*g opinion though.
I wouldn't know the level of your Education but it's obvious that trying to defend Peter Obi is making your Education looks like butt of the jokes. Your attempt to punch holes in Fashola's speech on infrastructures is a criminal offense and I'm very disappointed to be sharing the same country as you. Y'all ipob illiterates are a disgrace to this country.
In a bit to sound smart, you referred to refining diesel and producing steel. Let me ask; do you understand what infrastructure mean? If you did, you would know that there would be no production without infrastructures. To refine diesel, there must be a refinery, also to produce steel, there must be a steel plant. Both Refinery and Steel plant are infrastructures. Pls, pls & pls, I'm begging all you Obi supporters to stop embarrassing this country in the name of defending a fraud because foreigners also frequent this forum. Face your gala and 2×2 and leave macro economics alone to people wey sabi.
Saintinoo: Listen to me, I don't do argument of sentiments and ignorance here, check my comments on Nairaland.
Now tell me how railways built by Ameachi have improved the economy?
I know what railways do to a country economy, as a means of transportation, railway is important because it facilities easy movement of raw materials and finished goods for the manufacturers and farmers alike.
When being developed, it creates heavy revenue for the state.
Now, has Nigeria benefitted the aforementioned since Ameachi bought coaches that travels from Abuja to Kaduna?
Go to countries like China and India and see how railways are being used. Today transporting a 100kg bag of rice from Adamawa state to Lagos state is more than 5000 naira, and they say we have railways, so what is the UAE of the said railways.
I doubt if you have entered these rail coaches because the last time I checked, only Abuja to Kaduna route is currently functional.
Oh my! Look at ipob illiterates downplaying the importance of infrastructures to an economy, I don't even know where to begin to school your ass. Being a trader & a gala seller doesn't put you on a pedestal with technocrats. How can a fool says infrastructures do not drive the economy and some bunch of illiterates applaud him? SMH
