Drama was recorded at the National Assembly quarters in the Federal Capital Territory, Abuja after the wife of a lawmaker beat up her friend for dating her husband.

She was captured on camera as she stormed Gudu, the National Assembly headquarters in Abuja to beat up her friend who is having a secret affair with her husband.

According to an exclusive report, the unidentified lawmaker’s wife got hold of picture and video proofs of the illicit affair and stormed the house her husband got for her friend.

It was gathered that the visibly enraged woman pounced on her and beat her till her sister and neighbors came to her rescue.

Chimamanda Adichie reveals she was sexually assaulted

Nigerian writer, Chimamanda Adichie has revealed that she was sexually assaulted at the age of 17 by a big man in the media in Lagos.

She made this revelation during an address at the just concluded Stockholm Forum for Gender Equality.

Chimamanda told of how she had taken a book of poems she wrote to a “big man in the media” so he could support her in making the book go public, instead, he sexually assaulted her.

She said he was friendly at first and impressed that someone her age had written a book. But the man soon came to her, slipped his hand under her shirt and bra, then squeezed her breast.

She said she was so taken aback that she did nothing for seconds, then she pushed his hand away “gently”.

She said:
I was so taken aback that I did nothing for seconds. Then, I pushed his hand away, but gently, nicely, because I didn’t want to offend him.

Later that day, I broke into a rash on my chest, my neck, my face, as though my body were recoiling, as though my body were saying what my lips had not said.

I felt a deep loathing for that man and for what he did. I felt as if I didn’t matter, as if my body existed merely as a thing to be done with as he wanted. Yet, I told no one about it. And I kept talking to him, being polite, hoping he will help with my book.

A controlling and abusive girlfriend who put her boyfriend through the worst ever by assaulting him, depriving him of food, and banning him from their bed, has been jailed.

Jordan Worth, 22, was handed a seven-and-a-half-year sentence at Luton Crown Court on Friday after she admitted to carrying out several cruel acts against her ex-boyfriend. The college sweethearts had started dating in 2012 when they were both teenagers, 16, but there were worrying signs from the beginning, the court heard.

The court heard how Jordan, a university graduate, scalded her boyfriend with boiling water and stabbed him at their home in the village of Stewartby, in Bedfordshire, England. The boyfriend suffered from hydrocephalus that was caused by a build-up of fluid inside the skull and made him vulnerable.

In addition to the violence, Jordan also decided what clothes her boyfriend was allowed to wear. It was also reported that she did not let him sleep in their bed for nine months and also took over his Facebook account. It got worse when she began using objects to strike him, wounding him with a knife and then failing to get him any medical help.

The campaign of abuse ended in June when neighbours called police to the couple’s home in the early hours after hearing shouting. The ambulance crew noted injuries to his hand, burns to arms and legs that were being self-treated with cling film. There was also cling film round his ankles, and a hand wound that was bleeding.

The boyfriend was immediately taken to the hospital where it was discovered he had second and third degree burns that left permanent scarring and “5% of his total body surface was scalded.”

Neighbours added they had often heard the couple arguing and the victim was seen on occasions with black eyes, a limp, and with his arm in sling.

A neighbor told how Jordan was once seen at a window “armed” with a screwdriver or hammer. Jordan was later arrested and admitted charges of controlling or coercive behaviour in an intimate relationship, wounding with intent and causing grievous bodily harm with intent.

Last Sunday, was eviction day on the Big Brother Naija reality TV show, and it was sad to see the pair, LIFU (Leo and Ifu Ennada) get evicted from the show.

Pair MITO (Miracle and Anto) had the highest votes, followed by CEELO (Cee-C and Lolu), followed by TOLEX (Tobi and Alex) and then the pair LIFU, who went home.

One of the housemates, Alex couldn’t contain her sadness, as she burst into tears immediately Ebuka announced that the pair LIFU have been evicted

In a recent chat with miracle, Alex was quoted to have said: “I don’t even know why I’m saved and leo wasn’t; they should have allowed me to go home and save leo. I have no idea what I will do with the prize money if I win but I rather give leo to manage for me”

A tragic support worker accidentally took her own life in a “misguided” attempt to stop her troubled boyfriend from self-harming. Corinne Hayes, 23, feared Brian Marshall was about to commit suicide when she sent a message saying:

“If you are going to do it, so am I – meet you on the other side”.


Coroner Joanne Kearsley said she believed the text was part of a “very misguided attempt” for Mr Marshall, 33, to seek help for his mental health problems. She also ruled the 23-year-old did not intend to kill herself.

Corinne was found hanged at his apartment in Oldham, Greater Manchester in June last year, the day before she was due to attend Parklife music festival. Her inquest heard the couple started a relationship in September last year, which soon sparked concerns from her relatives.

On June 9, Corinne attended Mr Marshall’s flat where she discovered he had thrown a party without inviting her. The inquest heard the pair argued and the party came to an abrupt end before the couple left the flat and went separate ways.

Messages read out at the hearing showed the row continued over text message with Corinne telling Mr Marshall in one exchange:

Det Insp Kenny Blain told the hearing police received a call from Mr Marshall who reported finding Corinne in his flat while he was with two friends in the early hours on June 10. He said Corrine had been drinking with a friend the previous evening before she arrived at the 33-year-old’s flat where they instantly began to argue.

He told the inquest:

“It appeared that Brian had got into her head and had made her very upset and distressed.”


Around two hours before Corinne’s body was found, she sent a text to Mr Marshall which read:

“I tell you what, if you are going to do it, so am I. Meet you on the other side.”

Det Insp Blain added:
Quote
“I believe that Brian may have expressed a wish to harm himself that night.”

Mr Marshall has been sectioned under the Mental Health Act and did not attend the inquest. His two friends, who were initially declared suspects following Corinne’s death, were later cleared of any wrongdoing.
