President Muhammadu Buhari has stated that the Minister of Transportation, Rotimi Amaechi, created a problem for him in the South-East zone of the country.

During his presidential campaign in Enugu, Buhari disclosed that Amaechi promised the people of South-East that his administration will construct a railway linking their region to the Northern part of the country.

According to Buhari, fulfilling the promise made by Amaechi would be difficult because the minister didn’t submit any proposal of such to the Federal Executive Council. He, however, assured that people that he would convince the Federal Executive Council members for the project to be approved.

Nigerian popular Singer, Davido has explained the reason why his girlfriend Chef Chioma suddenly took a break from social media.

In a question and answer session with fans tagged #AskDavido on Twitter, the singer explained that she decided to take the time off to work on her cooking show. According to him, being absent from social media is not equivalent to being absent from life.

I guess this explains the reason she has been unavailable, although many people don't believe this.

Manchester United players want Ole Gunnar Solskjaer to be given the permanent position as club manager in the summer, the UK Mirror reports.

Solskjaer took over from Jose Mourinho in December and has been appointed as the caretaker manager until the end of the season.

The United board will make a decision about who will be the full-time boss over the next few months, but see Tottenham’s Mauricio Pochettino as their ideal choice.

However, it is understood that the United dressing room would be happy for Solskjaer to be given the post.

Solskjaer has claimed five wins in his first five games and seems to have breathed new life into the likes of Paul Pogba and Marcus Rashford.

A Lagos taxi driver operating on one of the popular car hailing services in the country met his Waterloo early this morning, after he allegedly stole a phone belonging to his female client.

The suspect had gone to drop the lady at her Omole Estate Phase 1 home, but when she went inside to get money to pay for the ride, the man allegedly changed the location of her iPhone 8.


After she returned, she discovered that her phone was missing, but the driver denied having anything to do with its disappearance.

However, a search was conducted and the phone was eventually discovered, safely hidden in the car’s sunroof, prompting the driver to be punished and later freed after confessing and apologizing.

For a while now, rumours/speculations have been flying around the place about actor, Gbenero Ajibade’s sexuality.

It all started after he shared pictures of himself wearing nipple ring. To further raise dust, the actor whose marriage to Osas Ighodalo is said to be in crisis, shared a post on his Instagram page with a rainbow emoji.

National Chairman of the ruling All Progressives Congress (APC) Comrade Adams Oshiomhole suddenly left the country early morning yesterday in the midst of the furore caused by his interrogation by the Department of State Services (DSS) on Sunday and Monday, Daily Trust learnt from top party sources last night.

Daily Trust also learnt that Governor Yahaya Bello of Kogi State secured bail for Oshiomhole from DSS after he underwent nine hours of interrogation on Sunday and for several hours again on Monday.

The interrogation, Daily Trust gathered, was prompted by numerous petitions sent to DSS, Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) and the Presidency arising from APC’s primary elections, which led to bitter acrimony in several states with allegations of bribery and manipulation.

The Lagos State Commissioner of Police, Edgal Imohimi, has ordered the closure of all beer parlours within police communities in Lagos state. His order comes after a police officer in the command, Kadima Useni with appointment number 176219, was dismissed after a viral video of him showed him drunk while on duty around the Akowonjo, Dopemu area of the state.

The CP believes shutting down the beer parlours will avoid a recurrence of such and the dismissal of the officer will serve as a deterrent to others. According to the state police command spokesperson, CSP Chike Oti, the Lagos police boss directed the officer in charge of the Command Provost Section to embark on tour of all police formations and barracks within the state with a view to identifying and shutting all beer parlours within the police community so as to prevent a reoccurence of such an embarrassment.

The PDP governorship candidate in the September 22 election in Osun State, Senator Ademola Adeleke arraigned by the police at the Federal High court in Abuja this morning, on charges bordering on examination malpractice and impersonation.

Recall that on September 19th, Adeleke who is also an uncle to Famous Nigerian Singer, Davido, was declared wanted by the police for allegedly presenting himself as a student of Ojo-aron community grammar school in his state in 2017.

Adeleke has since denied the allegation and accused the APC of witch-hunting.

Former Ghana Football Association president Kwesi Nyantakyi was handed a life ban from all football-related activities by FIFA on Tuesday following various violations of the governing body’s ethics code, including bribery and corruption.

Nyantakyi, a former member of FIFA’s General Council, was found guilty after being filmed by an investigative journalist in a hotel room appearing to take a $65,000 bribe from a supposed businessman seeking to sponsor the Ghanaian football league. He was also fined 500,000 Swiss Francs ($498,000).

“The adjudicatory chamber found Mr Nyantakyi guilty of having violated art. 19 (Conflicts of interest), art. 21 (Bribery and corruption) and art. 22 (Commission) of the FIFA Code of Ethics,” FIFA said in a statement.

A heartbroken man has ended his life after his girlfriend sent him a video of her shaving sex with another man.

It was gathered that the estranged girlfriend decided to mock her boyfriend and probably provoke him by recording a s*x video with another man which she sent to him (her boyfriend), not knowing it would end in a tragic way.

According to reports, the man who couldn’t bear the heartbreak following the s*x video of his girlfriend, reportedly committed suicide by drinking a poisonous substance.

He was rushed to the hospital where he later died.

Cristiano Ronaldo has said he decided to leave Real Madrid for Juventus after sensing that the Spanish club’s president, Florentino Perez, no longer saw him as being “indispensable”.

“I felt within the club, especially from the president, that I was no longer considered in the same way as I was at the beginning,” Ronaldo said in an interview with France Football magazine.

“For the first four or five years, I felt like Cristiano Ronaldo. Less so after.

“The president looked at me in a way that suggested I was no longer indispensable, if you know what I mean. That is what made me think about leaving.”

No.10 is my best position - Ozil Sounds out Emery

The Gunners boss has, at times, decided to play the German on the right of the attack but he remains adamant he performs better centrally

Mesut Ozil has insisted that the No.10 role remains his best position for Arsenal with Unai Emery having experimented by using him in other areas of the pitch.

The German playmaker played a starring role behind Alexandre Lacazette in the Gunners' 3-1 win over Leicester City, although he has popped up in different positions across the attack at the start of the 2018-19 season.

That has included him being stationed on the right and left-hand side, as Emery attempts to fit Lacazette, Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang and Aaron Ramsey into the same team.

Ozil, though, maintains that the No.10 position is his best but promises to give his all wherever the Arsenal boss decides to play him.

He told Sky Sports: "For me it is not my best position, I think my best position is as a No. 10 but at the end of the day I have to accept and respect what the coach decides.

Governor Nasir El-Rufai has ordered the immediate reinstatement of a 24-hour curfew in Kaduna metropolis and all its environs.

The statement signed and made available to newsmen on Friday by Samuel Aruwan Senior Special Assistant to the Governor (Media & Publicity), says the curfew would take effect as from 11am on Friday, 26th October 2018.

The new order is to prevent any breakdown of law and order following the death of HRH Agom Adara, in the early hours of today in the hands of criminals who abducted him last week.


“The Kaduna State Government has reinstated a 24-hour curfew on Kaduna metropolis and environs, Kasuwan Magani, Kajuru, Kateri and Kachia,” the statement reads.

“The curfew is effective from 11am today, Friday, 26th October 2018 and will remain in force until further notice.”
