nateevs: If you dig well enough, you will find that everyone has said something about someone/something they should quite rightly distance themselves from. In my own case, like Diggz so desperately likes to make all see, I did say Morata was not a striker. What he doesn't tell you in the same vein, is that I made that statement almost 18 months ago (he was just over 22) when I didn't consider him a good striker but I never doubted his ability as a footballer.
What happened between then and before he signed, is that I watched countless Morata videos and understood what he was all about. I changed my mind. And I was the most vocal about Morata on this thread before he signed, when he signed and even after he first played in PS and was considered rubbish. I made numerous positive comments in defence of Morata.
There is nothing wrong with changing one's mind. Everyone has a right to it and anyone is welcome to switch positions. I think I speak for all when I say though, that there is a code of moral conduct, though implicitly agreed, one nonetheless, that when you switch positions, it should be publicly declared. I think.
Remain a doubter if you so wish. Or a believer if you please. Heck you can even be undecided. But declare where you stand. What you shouldn't do is like when the trail is good and throw shades at the earliest sign of a stumble.
So yeah, I did say Morata is not a striker but I was calling the odds for Chelsea signing Morata over Lukaku and stating my preference for him, long before he was signed.
Those that looked down on Morata have not done anything wrong. Those who continued to find something wrong even when Alhaji was playing well and tucking goals in are the problem. What is more surprising is them claiming support for Morata at the exact same time they are slagging him off.
They need to let us know where they stand. 100% agree. I think we need to support Morata been a new guy and all. Also let not expect what the guy can't give not everyone can be rugged like Drogba and Costa - bullying defenders and likes (though I believe he needs to Muscle up a bit and change his perspective). He has other stuffs in his Arsenal that is exciting - movement, link-up etc and better still he can and would score goals which is his primary Job anyway. #ktbffh |

Firmino and Alexis got upgraded from a midfielder to attacker and not worth getting again IMO. Pep playing with 2 strikers now I never know how Silva and KdB go dey relate, both now play farther from the opponent goal. Salah still dey ball and I hope he balls today cause i just brought him in for Alli. I see Alli has an assist already *sighs* I hope this is not de Bruyne all over again. |

European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Chelsea Vs Everton: Carabao Cup (2 - 1) On 25th October 2017 by pamcode(op): 11:10pm On Sep 20, 2017 |
Chelsea boss Antonio Conte wants to build on Saturday's league win over Watford and could field a strong team against Everton in the Carabao Cup. Injured trio Danny Drinkwater (calf), N'Golo Kante (hamstring) and Victor Moses (hamstring) miss out. Everton midfielder Idrissa Gueye is suspended after his red card in Sunday's 5-2 home defeat by Arsenal. Morgan Schneiderlin is fit again, while fellow midfielder James McCarthy has trained after a knee problem. The fourth-round tie is Everton's first game since Ronald Koeman was sacked after 16 months at the club. Former Toffees defender David Unsworth has been put in temporary charge and has said he wants the job full time. Unsworth, 44, won the FA Cup as a player with Everton in 1995 - the club's last major success. He said there had been a reaction from the players in training since Sunday's defeat. "They were very receptive to what we were doing. The quality was there and the atmosphere we want was there," added Unsworth. 'Chelsea can't relax' Chelsea are five-time winners of the League Cup yet have reached just one of the past nine finals, beating Tottenham 2-0 at Wembley in 2015. "I don't think it's a moment to relax," said Blues goalkeeper Thibaut Courtois. "Everton have been struggling. I don't think they are playing badly but they have conceded some sloppy goals, and other teams have had more luck, but the Premier League is hard. "This is another competition, though, and they will be ready to win it." http://m.bbc.com/sport/football/41661463 |
