Loic Remy stood in for the injured Diego Costa but was himself substituted just minutes after opening the scoring against Maribor having injured his groin whilst shooting Chelsea manager Jose Mourinho has admitted that Didier Drogba could start Sunday's clash with Manchester United after Loic Remy limped out of the 6-0 win versus Maribor. Mourinho expects Remy to be out for "a couple of weeks" with the injury, while first choice forward Diego Costa has missed the Blues' last two games with a hamstring complaint and mystery surrounds his fitness. Remy started well in the clash with the Slovenian champions and gave the home side the lead in the 13th minute with a precise driven effort from the edge of the penalty area. Yet he was substituted just two minutes later, having hurt his groin in the process of shooting. Should both Remy and Costa miss the trip to Old Trafford on Sunday, club legend Drogba could be given the nod to lead the line as Chelsea look to extend their lead at the top of the Premier League table. "I was not expecting [Drogba] to play 75 minutes," Mourinho said. "He had to come on as the striker. It was too early for the kids to come on and play 75 minutes. "He could be there [against Manchester United]. It was good for him to be on the pitch."http://www.goal.com/en-gb/news/2914/champions-league/2014/10/21/5339901/drogba-could-face-manchester-united-as-chelsea-hit-by-injury?CMPID=FBUK_141021_DrogbaChelseaInjuryCrisis |
............. ...VAGINAL ITCHING........ ........ Vaginal itching, or vulvar itching, is a tingling or uncomfortable irritation of the vaginal skin and the surrounding area (vulva). If you have this condition, you may want to know some of its common * CAUSES , including: Chemical Irritants. Products with various chemical elements such as detergents, femi nine sprays, fabric softeners, ointments, douches, creams, and contraceptive foams or jellies that can cause itching and discomfort. * ....Vaginal Yeast Infection. * It involves a discharge that is white and curd-like. It can be the effects brought on by antibiotics, pregnancy, menstruation, condom use, birth control pills, sexual intercourse, diabetes, and a weakened immune system. * Vaginitis. This is a common occurrence in preadolescence, but older women can catch it as well. It involves inflammation, discharge, itching, and odor that are effects of other infections, including sexually transmitted diseases. Menopause. This period in a woman's life causes estrogen drop that results in vaginal wall thinning and less lubrication, which may trigger vaginal itching. Stress. This may increase vaginal itching and make you more prone to infections. Other possible causes of vaginal itching, though these are less common, include: Pinworms. They can cause parasitic infection that triggers vaginal itching. The condition often affects children. * Skin Conditions. There are skin conditions that affect the vulvar skin, some of which may even be pre cancerous. Ask your doctor about your skin condition as early as possible to detect potential problems. * Symptom: A Tell-Tale Sign Vaginal itching can be the result of various environmental factors. It can also come from something as simple as trapped bacteria under too many layers of clothing. Warmth and moisture make the perfect environment for incubating infections. Vaginal itching can be a manifestation of a variety of infections, .....such as.... bacterial vaginitis, vaginal yeast infection, and trichomoniasis. The itching can also signal an allergy in soap, deodorant or dye chemicals, or may simply be a sign of thinning vaginal tissues in women approaching menopause. * Symptom Relief WAYS TO RELIEF VAGINA ITCHING There are ways to relieve yourself of vaginal itching with simple and logical approaches, including: Get a Sitz Bath. A sitz bath or hip bath is a type of bath in which only the hips and buttocks are soaked. Several forms of vaginitis respond well to simple home remedy of water and saline solution. You can do this by dissolving a half-cup table salt in a shallow tub of warm water. When you are in the tub, insert your finger into your vagina to let the solution in. Remove your finger afterwards and relax for 10 to 15 minutes. Do this for two to three consecutive nights. Abstain for the Duration. Do not engage in sexual activities, especially intercourse, until the itching clears up. If the itchiness was transmitted by your partner, you should really avoid re- exposing yourself to trouble. You may show love in other ways. Be creative. Consider Using Condoms. Condoms can protect you from unwanted pregnancy and sexually transmitted diseases. Try getting used to condoms to be on the safe side. However, if a bout of vaginal itching seems to follow condom use, you may be allergic to the condom's latex rubber, powder coating, or lubricant. If this happens, stop using condoms and resort to other preventive measures instead. * Bag the Douche and Powder. Douching does not help relieve vaginal itching, and it may actually be dangerous. Douching may drive infectious particles up through the cervix and cause pelvic inflammatory disease. The use of cornstarch and talcum powder is questionable as well. Tiny particles may collect near the ovaries over time, which may increase the risk of ovarian cancer. ***Consult Your Doctor*** When to consult your doctor? If the itching persists for more than three days and does not respond to home remedies or is getting progressively worse, you may need to consult your doctor about the nature of your infection. Depending on the type of infection, your doctor will recommend the proper approach or treatment. Also, if you cannot pinpoint the cause of your itching, you may want to ask your doctor, just to be on the safe side. Get Help for Menopause Symptoms. * If you are approaching menopause, ask your doctor regarding changes that you may experience in the vaginal region. Ask him or her about treatments for itching caused by changes due to the impending menopause. Hormone replacement therapy is an alternative, but ask about prescription hormonal creams for the vagina as well. * Treatment or Prevention for Yeast Infections Though vaginal yeast infections are quite common, frustrating, and burdensome, these infections respond well to treatment. There are also preventive measures to counter such occurrences https://m./353656594787796?view=permalink&id=397767667043355&refid=48 |

The Catalans have yet to taste defeat in La Liga this season but they were beaten at th Parc des Princes last time out in Group F, so need three points at Camp Nou Javier Mascherano has urged Barcelona to stay focused on Tuesday's Champions League home clash with Ajax, despite obvious distractions. The Catalan giants can ill-afford another slip up in Group F after a 3-2 loss at Paris Saint- Germain last time out. With the season's first Clasico coming just four days after the visit of the Eredivisie champions, coach Luis Enrique has already warned his players against taking their eye off the ball in midweek. Those sentiments were echoed by Mascherano as the versatile Argentina international set his sights on success in Europe, with domestic ambitions on the back burner for now. "The most important game is always the next one," he told the club's official website. "If you win [the next game], that changes the following one. "We need to win against Ajax and go into the Clasico with confidence." The Argentine's team-mate Xavi stressed th importance of compensating for their previous defeat to PSG. "After the slip-up in Paris, we have to take three points," he said. Barca, who will be without defender Thomas Vermaelen (hamstring), beat APOEL 1-0 on match day one, but their loss in the French capital sees them second in the group - one point behind PSG. Luis Enrique's men head into the game sitting top of the Spanish top flight and fresh from a 3-0 win over Eibar, in which striker Lionel Messi scored once to move to within two strikes of becoming La Liga's record goalscorer. Draws against PSG and APOEL have Ajax reasonably placed after two matches and stalemates have been a common theme for Frank de Boer's side in recent times. Ajax have had to share the spoils in their las three clashes - most recently a 1-1 draw against Twente on Saturday. Kolbeinn Sigthorsson netted a 71st-minute equaliser as the four-time defending Eredivisie champions fell four points behind leaders PSV. The two sides played each other in the group stages last term as Messi scored a hat-trick in Barcelona's 4-0 home win. But Ajax won their home clash 2-1, with Thulani Serero, a doubt for this game with a hamstring injury, and Danny Hoesen both scoring in the first half. De Boer will be looking to get one over on the club he spent four years at as a player between 1999 and 2003. http://www.goal.com/en/match/barcelona-vs-ajax/1923629/preview |

Roma striker Mattia Destro is excited to see his side test themselves against Bayern Munich on Tuesday. The Serie A title challengers have returned to the UEFA Champions League for the first time since 2011 this season and have made a bright start to their campaign. A 5-1 Group E demolition of CSKA Moscow was followed by an encouraging 1-1 draw at Premier League champions Manchester City last month. That sets the capital club up nicely for the challenge of facing Bayern - Champions League winners in 2012-13 and semi- finalists last term. Destro scored in the fourth minute of Roma's 3-0 win against Chievo on Saturday, a result that was the ideal response to a 3-2 loss at three-time defending Serie A champions Juventus. And Roma's latest win has Destro excited ahead of the visit of Pep Guardiola's Bayern. "It will be a wonderful match," the striker told Sky Sport Italia. "We'll be in front of our own fans, so we can't wait. "We were convinced [about our credentials] from the start of the season. We'll go through our journey and see where we end up. "We play every weekend and try to impose our football, always going for victory." Destro's thoughts were echoed by Roma coach Rudi Garcia, who said he "really can't wait" to play the Bundesliga champions. Roma will also be wary of Manchester City, who sit third in the pool but have back-to- back clashes against CSKA Moscow on the horizon. Bayern, meanwhile, top Group E after successive 1-0 triumphs and have won their last five matches in all competitions. They have not conceded since August and thrashed rock-bottom Werder Bremen 6-0 in the Bundesliga on Saturday, with captain Philipp Lahm scoring a rare double. Guardiola expressed his delight afterwards at how well his players had responded to international duty. Robert Lewandowski was an unused substitute in the six-goal romp while Franck Ribery only played the last 29 minutes as Guardiola kept one eye on the European challenge ahead. Bastian Schweinsteiger has finally returned to training after a knee injury but will not appear, while a recurrence of Thiago Alcantara's own knee problem has him sidelined indefinitely. The two sides met in Roma's last Champions League campaign - Bayern winning 2-0 in Munich in September 2010 before overturning a two-goal deficit to win the return clash 3-2 source: http://pulse.ng/sports/football/champions-league-preview-roma-v-bayern-munich-id3208194.html |
Monday 29 September 2014 Manchester City face a tough task in their must-win Champions League clash with Roma, who have won all six of their matches in all competitions this season. The Italian club sit top of Group E after demolishing CSKA Moscow 5-1 in their opening fixture, with Gervinho, so often a target for derision during two inconsistent seasons at Arsenal, scoring twice. City, who lost 1-0 to Bayern first time out after a dramatic strike from Jerome Boateng, go into the match having scored 11 goals in a week, following a seven-goal rout of Sheffield Wednesday in the Capital One Cup with a 4-2 league victory at Hull. The Roma defence should provide more of an obstacle - they have conceded just two goals in Serie A and Europe thus far, and are bolstered by the signing of Ashley Cole, who will make his first appearance back on English soil since leaving Chelsea in the summer. The clubs have never met, but City will take heart from Roma’s decidedly mixed record against Premier League clubs, particularly away from home. They have failed to win any of their last nine matches on English soil, and Manchester was the site of one of the most humiliating defeats in the club’s history, when Manchester United trounced the Italian side 7-1 in the quarter finals of the 2007 Champions League. KICK-OFF: Tuesday, 7.45pm PAST THREE MEETINGS… The clubs have never met before. STATS… Gervinho has scored 15 goals in his first 40 matches for Roma. The Ivorian had scored just six by this point in his Arsenal career. Roma last won in England on February 22, 2001, when a single goal from Gianni Guigou was enough to beat Liverpool in the second leg of their UEFA Cup fourth round tie. Even then, Liverpool progressed 2-1 on aggregate. Manchester City completed 352 successful passes at Bayern Munich out of 418 attempts. Their hosts completed 521 out of 598. Sergio Aguero scored six goals in five games in last year’s Champions League group stage, the most by any Manchester City player.
