VargasVee:I think it is mainly due to lack of movement (runners) from us. Was it not the game against Everton when Fab was subbed in for Jorginho and like three or four times he kept looking up looking for run behind to send those killer passes but no one was moving. |
monerozi5590:Kante isn't a very technical player true he has this turning that he uses to Run away from the pressing player it does not help him to beat the player. Not to talk of his passing range which we all know is limited. Have you ever seen Kante under pressure pass forward? |
I Just saw Lyon vs Man City highlights and for me Lyon lost that game there were some misses that deserved caning not to talk of allowing Aguero to head in from a corner. They played well though seeing city clear cut chances were not much. |
HanksAnuku:Oh Boy. Has there been lot of stabbing incidents around? or have you been crossing the path of some Mafia boys because I know you like trouble. |
dopeJemi:I meant the season we won the league. That game was even worse because we didn't even look like scoring in that game, that game ended our winning streak. |
I don't understand why Sarri chose to play Hazard as false nine when he removed Morata. Our intensity has to be better the way Tottenham players were beating us comfortably one on one was alarming, against City we had better play a pivot of Jorginho and Kante or it would be worse . As for David Luiz enough has been said on the Otu after all there is a reason his middle name is Calamity. Come January we need to get an effective, goal scoring striker like Icardi and a right winger. |
Reminds me of our 2 nil loss in which Alli scored the two goals. Tactical loss. |
Tottenham went physical in the middle, pressing with such tempo that our slow build up couldn't hope to keep up. They deserve to be up front but we should have had a penalty. |
lol there is no way there wouldn't be regret in Courtois' mind. He chose a wrong time to go to Madrid. |
match day. |
Barring individual errors this match would end in a close margin win or draw. 2-1 in favour of Chelsea is my say. |
Congrats to the Mathematics Whiz. |
raumdeuter:I didn't doubt him but then it is normal for a new manager to have critics even among his own club's fan base. Besides Guardiola has learnt from his first season in the English league his approach for the Liverpool game is a good example |
Man City is the best team in the league and it would take a super performance from Hazard for us to beat them. |
TEAM NEWS Tottenham's Jan Vertonghen may return from a hamstring injury but Davinson Sanchez faces a spell on the sidelines with a similar problem. Kieran Trippier, Danny Rose and Mousa Dembele are also ruled out. Christian Eriksen, who has been managing an abdominal injury, could reclaim a starting spot. Chelsea midfielder Mateo Kovacic should be available despite missing Croatia's defeat by England on Sunday because of an ankle problem. Blues head coach Maurizio Sarri also has a number of undisclosed injury doubts following the international break. MATCH FACTS Head-to-head Tottenham have won three of their past seven Premier League games against Chelsea, as many as they had won in the previous 49 top-flight meetings (D18, L28). Spurs are looking to win consecutive league matches against Chelsea for the first time since August 1987. Chelsea have kept 21 Premier League clean sheets against Tottenham - a joint-high for the Blues against a particular opponent. Tottenham Hotspur Spurs have lost four of their seven Premier League matches at Wembley against established top-six opposition. They were unbeaten in their final 10 league fixtures at White Hart Lane against those sides (W6, D4). Tottenham have won four successive games in league and cup, and have claimed victories in their last six Premier League London derbies. Spurs' tally of 27 points after 12 games is their second highest at this stage of a Premier League season. They were one point better off after a dozen matches in 2011-12. Tottenham could lose consecutive home league games for the first time since being beaten by Aston Villa and Manchester City towards the end of the 2014-15 season. That was also the most recent occasion they have failed to score in successive top-flight home matches. None of Tottenham's last 16 Premier League games have ended in a draw (W12, L4) - the longest current such run in the division. Dele Alli has scored five goals in his last four league and cup games against Chelsea. Chelsea The Blues have kept clean sheets in four of their five away league games this season. The only goal they have conceded on the road was scored by Newcastle's Joselu in August. Chelsea are unbeaten in 12 league games under Maurizio Sarri, and are two matches short of equalling their longest undefeated run at the start of a top-flight season (set in 2014-15). The Blues have only won one of their last eight league games away to established top-six rivals (D3, L4) - their 2-1 victory against Spurs at Wembley in August 2017. Chelsea have attempted 8,706 passes in this season's Premier League - in excess of 400 more than any other side prior to the weekend fixtures. https://www.bbc.com/sport/football/46244418 |
TEAM NEWS Chelsea are set to recall the senior players rested against BATE Borisov. Fit-again Eden Hazard played 62 minutes in Thursday's game and could be in contention to start. Cesc Fabregas is doubtful because of illness, while Ruben Loftus-Cheek's back problem will be assessed. Everton are without Chelsea loanee Kurt Zouma, who is ineligible to play against his parent club, so summer signing Yerry Mina will hope to start his first league game for the Toffees. Phil Jagielka and James McCarthy come back into contention after recovering from injuries but Jonjoe Kenny and top scorer Richarlison are both doubts. The latter missed training on Thursday and was only able to complete a light session on Friday. Giroud sends Chelsea through in Europa League Everton sign Yerry Mina from Barcelona for £27.2m. MATCH FACTS Head-to-head Everton's only Premier League win away to Chelsea came courtesy of a Paul Rideout goal in November 1994. The Londoners are unbeaten in the subsequent 23 league meetings at Stamford Bridge (W13, D10). Everton are winless in 28 league and cup visits to the stadium (D11, L17), although that includes a 1-1 draw in a FA Cup fourth-round replay in 2011, which the Toffees eventually won via a penalty shoot-out. Chelsea Chelsea are unbeaten in 12 league and cup games at Stamford Bridge, with their last defeat a 3-1 loss to Tottenham on 1 April. Maurizio Sarri can become the first manager or head coach to avoid defeat in his first 12 Premier League games. He is currently level with Frank Clark (11 matches with Nottingham Forest in 1994). The Londoners could remain unbeaten in their opening 12 top-flight games for only the second time in their history. The previous occasion was in 2014-15, when they avoided defeat in their first 14 Premier League matches. Prior to the latest round of matches, no player had been involved in more Premier League goals this season than Eden Hazard, whose tally of 11 comprises seven goals and four assists. Hazard has registered assists in three consecutive Premier League appearances as a substitute - no player has ever done so in four successive matches off the bench. Alvaro Morata has four goals in his last four league games, after scoring just twice in his previous 20 top-flight appearances. Everton The Toffees have claimed four wins in their last five top-flight matches - as many as in their previous 14 games. Everton have won one of their last 16 Premier League outings in London (D6, L9), losing all four of their matches in the capital this year. The Toffees are winless in their 13 most recent league games played on a Sunday, losing 11 times. Their last top-flight win on a Sunday was 2-1 at QPR in March 2015. With six goals in nine league games for Everton, Richarlison has already bettered his tally of five in 38 appearances for Watford last season. https/www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/46087584?iorg_service_id_internal=624173547714020%3BAfpP2q0PiSt1v4OY |

TEAM NEWS Chelsea's Eden Hazard is expected to be fit to play some part after recovering from a back injury. Blues midfielder Ross Barkley is set to return having been rested for Wednesday's Carabao Cup win over Derby County. Wilfried Zaha missed Crystal Palace's midweek defeat at Middlesbrough with a shoulder problem but is fit. But Connor Wickham joins Christian Benteke, Scott Dann and Joel Ward on the sidelines due to a thigh strain. MATCH FACTS Head-to-head Palace have won two of the last three meetings and two of the last three clashes at Stamford Bridge. Four of the last six meetings have ended 2-1. Chelsea Chelsea have drawn three of their last five league matches, winning two. Six of their seven league goals conceded this season have come at home. Chelsea boss Maurizio Sarri could equal Frank Clark's Premier League record of staying unbeaten in his first 11 Premier League games (with Nottingham Forest in 1994). Eden Hazard has scored just one goal in 10 Premier League appearances against Crystal Palace. Ross Barkley has scored in each of his last three Premier League games for Chelsea - only two Englishmen have scored in four in a row for the Blues, Frank Lampard and Mark Stein. Crystal Palace Palace are without a win in their last five league matches, losing three. All four of Palace's wins this season have come away from home - two in the league and two in the League Cup. Five of their seven league goals this season have been scored on their travels. The Eagles are one win shy of 200 victories in the top flight. Roy Hodgson's only Premier League win at Stamford Bridge came on his first visit in April 1998 with Blackburn Rovers - he has lost his last four league matches there. https://www.bbc.com/sport/football/46007193 |

TEAM NEWS Forward Eden Hazard is expected to sit out Chelsea's Carabao Cup fourth-round tie with Derby on Wednesday because of a back problem. Manager Maurizio Sarri is set to make several changes as winger Pedro (illness) and striker Olivier Giroud (leg injury) are also doubtful. Derby have been granted permission by Chelsea to select on-loan pair Mason Mount and Fikayo Tomori. Mount is fit despite limping off in Saturday's 1-1 draw with Middlesbrough. Young Chelsea midfielder Ethan Ampadu has returned to training following a knee injury but is unlikely to feature. Former Blues player Frank Lampard, now manager at Derby, said he has no fresh injury concerns, but Craig Bryson (calf), George Evans (knee), Joe Ledley (hip) and Marcus Olsson (knee) are all still out. It is Lampard's first visit to Stamford Bridge as a manager and he says he will be "proud and honoured". "I realise how important Chelsea were in my life and what I owe for that in terms of thanks," he added. Lampard also played against Chelsea as a player on loan at Manchester City and scored a late equaliser in a 1-1 draw at the Etihad in September 2014. MATCH FACTS Chelsea and Derby last met in December 2014 in the League Cup quarter-final, with the Blues winning 3-1 at Pride Park. Derby have lost each of their past eight away matches against Chelsea, all in league competition between 1990 and 2008. Chelsea have scored in each of their past 22 matches against Derby, a run stretching back to January 1988 - the last Rams goalkeeper to keep a clean sheet against them was Peter Shilton in November 1987. Chelsea have progressed from 18 of their last 19 League Cup ties against non-Premier League opponents - the exception was a fourth round exit on penalties against Burnley in 2008-09 after a 1-1 draw at Stamford Bridge. Derby, who eliminated Man Utd in the last round, haven't knocked out two top-flight sides in a single League Cup campaign since 1968-69 under Brian Clough, when they knocked out Chelsea and Everton. In the Premier League era, only one team has ever eliminated both Chelsea and Manchester United in a single League Cup campaign - Sunderland did so in 2013-14 on their way to reaching the final. As a player, Lampard didn't end on the losing side in any of his last 19 matches at Stamford Bridge (W15, D4 , L0 - 18 games with Chelsea, one with Man City). https://www.bbc.co.uk/sport/football/45961339 |
dmcdad:Just wanted to Know what makes you feel Conte would bench Courtois if he comes to Madrid. I don't remember they had a misunderstanding. |
dmcdad:Check what you posted |
Just read that Leicester city's Chairman was among those killed in the Chopper crash. RIP to him. I remember Chelsea had a case like this makes, this movies I have seen makes me wonder if there is no conspiracy in this. Any way all men must die no matter the money. |
