When President Donald Trump launched a series of airstrikes in Nigeria on Christmas, he described it as an attack against “ISIS Terrorist Scum in Northwest Nigeria who have been targeting and viciously killing, primarily, innocent Christians.”

But locals in a town that was hit during the strike say terrorism has never been a problem for them. On Friday, CNN published a report based on interviews with several residents of Jabo, which was hit by a US missile during Thursday’s attack, which landed just feet away from the town’s only hospital.

Niger has announced an immediate and indefinite suspension of entry for US nationals, presenting the move as a sovereign and reciprocal response to Washington’s latest travel restrictions, according to a report by the country’s state news agency ANP on Thursday.

Citing a diplomatic source, ANP said Nigerien authorities have halted the issuance of visas to citizens of the United States, effectively barring Americans from entering the country.

The decision follows a recent move by Washington to place Niger on a list of states whose nationals are denied entry into the US. In December, the White House expanded its full entry-ban list to include Burkina Faso, Mali, Niger, South Sudan, Syria, Laos, and Sierra Leone, citing security and vetting concerns. The measures are expected to take effect at the start of 2026.

MUSCAT: Yemen’s Iran-backed Houthi rebels and its internationally-recognized government have agreed to a prisoner swap that includes nearly 3,000 people in total, officials from both sides said Tuesday.

Majed Fadhail, a member of the government delegation for the prisoner swap talks, said they had agreed with the Houthis on a new exchange that would see “thousands” of war prisoners released.

Abdulqader Al-Mortada, an official with the Houthi delegation, said in a statement on X that “we signed an agreement today with the other party to implement a large-scale prisoner exchange deal involving 1,700 of our prisoners in exchange for 1,200 of theirs, including seven Saudis and 23 Sudanese.”

United Nations Special Envoy for Yemen Hans Grundberg in a statement welcomed the agreement as “a positive and meaningful step that will hopefully ease the suffering of detainees and their families across Yemen.”

He added that its “effective implementation will require the continued engagement and cooperation of the parties, coordinated regional support and sustained efforts to build on this progress toward further releases.”

Libya’s army chief was killed in a plane crash while returning home from an official visit to Turkey on Tuesday, Libya’s prime minister said.

Turkish broadcaster CNNTurk reported that the plane had a crew of three, all of whom were French nationals.

Turkish Justice Minister Yilmaz Tunc said an investigation has been launched into the crash, which will look into “all its aspects and with great care.”

Are you referring to the original European migration that displaced the aboriginal or original Indian occupants of what is now America or are you referring to more recent migrants of European descent happening 30 to 40 years recently?


If referring to the former those ones migrated over 200 to 300 years ago and are no more even Europens as you can no longer refer to them as that. They have no place to return to in Europe their home is now the US. Over 300 years ago what do you expect them to return back to?

As for the recent migrants 30 to 40 years now you are referring to I don't understand your 'beef' with them as I'm not aware they have a direct problem with Africans in America or trying to return them to Africa. They took are migrants just like Africans!
