SuperSuave: sure it won't but it MIGHT reduce your ego/dignity(can't find the right word) even before the bride herself. Running some errands is ok for me but washing plates and sweeping...taaa! Maybe because is isn't my thing, dunno about the OP tho I think the point buygala is trying to make is that, I can still make myself useful in other non-financial ways and I think that's a great idea. I may not necessarily be involved in washing of plates but there are other things I can do. |

buygala: Become their Janitor and drycleaner..... Wash their wedding venues, after-wedding dishes, etc.. Make yourself useful in other non-financial ways which will add value to the events... MONEY ISN'T EVERYTHING This is a great idea. |

About five of my friends are getting married this year and I'm totally broke. I can't even afford to buy a suit not to talk of contributing any amount towards the preparation for the wedding. Honestly, I'm totally confused, because I know I'll serve as a groom's mate to at least 3 of the weddings. I'm currently running my Msc program which has rendered me almost 'dimelss'. I'd to look up to my parents for food & other things. Please Nairalanders, supposing you're in my situation, what would you do?. Or if you've ever experienced this kind of situation, how did you manage it? . |

inteli: please hw did you do it? I have Android phone and ch(50) is a nightmare, please help I had this problem when I was using Android 2.3 gingerbread. I'm using kitkat now and I can't figure out where to locate the settings. Normally, you go to ur sms setting and disable cell broadcast. But I couldn't locate cell broadcast on kitkat. I read somewhere, someone is suggesting using a nokia phone to do it. That's moving ur simcard to a nokia phone and go to: Setting>Phone Setting>Cell info Display>Off Then move back ur simcard to ur Android. I don't know if it's going to work cos I've not tried it, but you may give it a try, may be it'll work. |
Politics › Re: I am Now Sarkin, Not Emir Of Kano - Sanusi Lamido by Panshow(m): 1:22pm On Jan 20, 2015 |
BackDatAssUp: An Emir is not an Arabic tittle but an Islamic title.
An Emir reigns over an Emirate which is the same as a region or state under an Islamic Nation.
A Sultanate is comprised of several Emirates.
A Sultanate is the same as a Calipate. Thus a Sultan is Persian while a Caiphate is for Arabic controlled Islamic territory.
This is valid proof that northern Nigetia has since been arabized and islamized.
These positions are reserved for only Hausa/Fulani Moslems. Emir, Amir, Amier or Ameer, is a title of high office used in a variety of places in the Arab world. http://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Emir |

HNosegbe: Sarkin is a Hausa title, Emir is Fulani. Big difference.
Anyway I think PAGAN9JA will have something to say about this. Sarki is a Hausa title while Emir is an Arabic title NOT Fulani. |
