Atiku: Panic in APC over looming mass defection


There is now a great tension in the ruling All Progressives Congress, APC‎, over the sudden exit of one of its Chieftains and a one time Vice President, Alhaji Atiku Abubakar who announced the resignation of his membership from the party on the early hours of yesterday

It was gathered that already no fewer than seven state Governors, serving ministers, several law makers in the both Chambers of the National Assembly as well as others holding key positions in the government and the party have concluded plans to dump the Party to follow the former Vice President who is believed to bew heading to his former Party, Peoples Democratic Party, PDP.
A very close source to the former Vice President to the Saturday Tribune in Abuja yesterday that bearing last minutes change, Atiku has concluded plans to storm the National Secretariat of the PDP, popularly known as WADATA PLAZA, Wuze Zone 5, Abuja, in the first week of December ‎this year in a grand style along with his suppoters after he must have declared for the Party, in Yola, Adamawa State.
Saturday Tribune gathered that the exit of Atiku on Friday morning after months, weeks, days and hours of speculations of ‎his possibility of leaving the Party sent fears into the various camps and groups in the Party as well as the Presidency and the Party and its likely adverse effects on the party ahead of the 2019 General elections.
” We are not comfortable with the sudden exit of Atiku Abubakar, honestly we were are not unaware of his grievances and it is the these are being looked into at the appropiate quarters that he decides to leave?
” Definitely his exit will shake our Party because he has his followers he brought while coming into the Party and within the time he stayed he actually made more followers

” we only pray that the party will be able to manage his exit so that this would not have bandwagon effect on the Party now that the Party is yet to hold its Nationa Convention and 2019 General elections are fasting ‎approaching “, a National officer told the Saturday Tribune while reacting to the exit.

It was gathered that series of meetings and consultations among his supporters and loyalists across the country and across the various Political parties have making going on how to move enmass along with him whichever Political Party he Would be joining ahead of the 2019

In a major policy reversal, the Nigerian military is set to end the admission of female cadets into the combatant course of the Nigerian Defence Academy, The PUNCH has learnt.

A set of 20 females, nicknamed Jonathan Queens, were first admitted into the course in Nigeria’s premier military officer training institution during the former President Goodluck Jonathan’s administration in 2011.

It was learnt that the recommendation to end the programme was made by the Armed Forces Council which was inaugurated by President Muhammadu Buhari last week.

President Muhammadu Buhari is currently meeting with the national leader of the All Progressives Congress, Ahmad Bola Tinubu.
The closed-door meeting is being held inside the new Banquet Hall of the Aso Rock Presidential Villa in Abuja.

This is Tinubu's first visit to the Villa since Buhari returned from his medical trip on August 19.
Tinubu arrived for the meeting at exactly 3:30pm; five minutes after Senate President Bukola Saraki, House of Representatives Speaker Yakubu Dogara and APC National Chairman John Odigie-Oyegun departed the Villa after meeting with the president.
This is ahead of tonight's meeting of the national caucus of the ruling party scheduled for 8:30pm at the State House in Abuja

Maina isn't the first person that was fired for corruption that Buhari has brought back to government. Here are a few I can remember
1. AbdulRahman Danbazzau was fired as chief of army staff for corrupt practices in purchasing of arms and gas been appointed minister of interior by buhari
2. Mohammed Barkindo was removed as NNPC MD by the late yaradua for stealing huge kickbacks from oil and and been appointed as Nigeria's Secretary General to opec by Buhari
3. Acp Zakari Bui, a man accused and dismissed for aiding boko haram kingpin kabiru Sokoto to escape from detention was reinstated and promoted by buhari.
4. Abdul Rasheed Maina, a man that ran away since 2014 and has been declared wanted by efcc for embezzlement of N2bn pension funds have been reinstated as deputy director ministry of interior.
5. Ahmed Gambo Saleh, Registrar of the Supreme Court, He stole N2.2bn belonging to the Supreme court and was caught red handed and fire, today Ahmed Gambo Saleh has now been appointed the secretary of the committee monitoring corruption trials.
