‘Ghana is the safest country in West Africa’ – President Akufo-
Addo
.

The President, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has described
Ghana as the safest country in West Africa, and, is, therefore,
asking Africans in the Diaspora to come, explore and experience
Ghana in this Year of Return.
Addressing the House of Assembly of St. Vincent and the
Grenadines on Wednesday, President Akufo-Addo stated that, “in
today’s world, where sadly crime and terror have become part of
everyday life, I can say that Ghana is certainly the safest country
in the West African region, and remains one of the few places on
earth where we are not embarrassed to see ourselves as each
other’s keeper.”

Yes Dear, SME Has To Be Encouraged. To Discourage Taste For Foreign Goods, MAN, SON All The Govt Agencies Responsible For Standard Regulation Of Goods Should Adopt A Standard/quality That Can Be At Par With That Of America/Britain In African Soil. If It Is Electronics, Instead Of Importing Finished Goods, We Should Bring In Experts From Those Manufacturing Companies To Come And Establish It In Africa. Govt Should Also Provide Infrastructures. Eg, Industrial Parks In Each Region Of Africa. If Every Country Of Africa Should Have A Product Line It Has Comparative Advantage On And Concentrate In Production Of It, We Will Excel.
Yeah, A brilliant idea there

you CANT, that the issue... choosing one over the other is as foolish as trying to win a 100m race with a broke leg. you can NEVER succeed.
I understand bro.....But looking at it keenly, One when achieved, can give birth to the other or can pave way for the other to be achieved. One will lead to the other....
And that is "Electricity"...... Electricity will help us have quality education and perhaps achieving the two at the same time may be tough but paying attention to one will really help the other

To Me, There Should Be Legislation To Keep The Number Of Marriage To 1:1 Ratio. Why Will A Man Marry 4 Or 5 Wives Like Ned Nwoko? Lets Assume Each Wife Give Birth 4 Children, He Will Have 16 Or 20 Children. Now If There Is Outbreak Of Ebola For Example, Govt Will Plan To Get 16 Or 20 Children Plus Parents Treated, Instead Of 4 Children Plus The Parents. Lets Look @ Eduction, Instead Of Training 4 Children In School Per Home, Govt Will Plan For Education Of 16 To 20 Per Family. Therefore, Africa Will Continue To Depend On UNICEF And UNESSCO For Education. Again, Corruption. Africa Is So Endowed With Natural Resourses But We Are Not Prudent In Spending. A President Will Spend #1.1b For Local And Int'l Travels, Yet We Have Presidential Jets. Our President News Paper Per Year Is #26,432,356. With This Africa Will Continue To Depend On The West For Aid.
Good submission there....Kudos.

I also think with industrialization, we as Citizens should do our part by patronizing locally/Made in Africa goods and reduce the strong taste for foreign goods to ensure we develop our own and boost our economies...... Where as our Governments should also do their part to industrialize our Continent.

Norwegian Prime Minister, Erna Solberg, has said: "The thought
and idea of an Africa beyond aid, a Ghana, Nigeria, South Africa, Kenya etc, beyond aid and the thinking that Africa should be dependent on her own resources
and not depend on help from other countries/Continents is a development philosophy
that should be cherished". An Agenda to see a status of a continent that can survive beyond handouts and donor
funds is a strong development philosophy.

Reigning WWE World Champion Kofi Sarkodie-Mensah,
popularly known as 'Kofi Kingston', paid a courtesy call on
President Akufo-Addo at the Jubilee House on Thursday, May
30, 2019.
The World Wrestling Entertainment (WWE) star presented his WWE belt to the father of the land.

According to President Akufo-Addo in a post on his official Facebook handle, the WWE star’s visit to Ghana is in response to the proclamation of this year, 2019, as the "Year of Return”,.

The 37-year-old professional wrestler also opined that he considers this “Year of Return” as a unique opportunity for him to make a historic visit to Ghana at the height of his wrestling career.

He also noted that his visit to Ghana is one that he hopes will inspire the youth to be believe they can achieve their dreams if they work hard at it.

“Above all else, when I was a kid, this was what I wanted to do, it’s awesome that I was able to achieve my childhood dream but what’s even more important than that is for me to come back and inspire people who might be exactly where I was as a little kid watching, hoping to be something that I am living, breathing proof that you can be whatever you want to be.

“I’m providing inspiration to people who want to do something but don’t know if they can do it. I’m here to provide inspiration that you can do it if you believe in yourself. So, I’m happy to be here to inspire other Ghanaians to go out and do great things in this world.”

Rigel95:
Listen, it depends on you. For example:

1.If you're good with precision instruments or/and you have a little interest in drawing, you could go for architecture.

2.Can you read for long hours? Are you very good at chemistry and mathematics? Then you could consider pharmacy.

3. Can you read for long hours? Are you very good at chemistry and mathematics? Then you could consider Applied geology too.

4. How good is your physics/mathematics? Electrical and electronics engineering and some other engineering courses could be for you.
e.t.c
Since you are looking for a high paying 8-4 then you should pay attention to courses which you feel you can do better at and select one. Your CGPA when you graduate goes a long way in determining where you will be employed(try as much as possible to get a 1st class or a 2.1 at worst) you could even go for a lecturing job at the end...no stress.
Great submission.
big ups...

31st May, 2019
For Immediate Release

“THIRTY MILLION GHANAIANS ARE SOLIDLY BEHIND YOU” – PRESIDENT AKUFO-ADDO TO BLACK STARS

The President of the Republic, Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo, has assured the senior national football team, the Black Stars, of the unflinching support of government and the people of Ghana, ahead of their participation in the 2019 edition of the Africa Cup of Nations in Egypt.

According to President Akufo-Addo “it sounds almost unbelievable when we think its 37 years since we last won it, especially since, from 2008 up to 2017 we hold the record of six consecutive semi-final appearances, which requires that we just need one more step to get over the barrier, and I think we are going to do it.”

The President made this known when the players, technical team and management committee members of the Black Stars called on him on Thursday, 30th May, 2019, at Jubilee House, to bid him farewell ahead of their final training tour in the United Arab Emirates and the 2019 AFCON.

Describing teamwork as “the heart of success in football”, President Akufo-Addo told the team that “you may have all the authority, but if the people working with you are not prepared to back you up with the effort and energy, you will not be able to succeed.”

He indicated further that “helping each other to win the trophy, that’s the teamwork that we are looking at, you are the Black Stars of Ghana. It doesn’t matter where you come from in this country, whether it is in Tamale or Jamestown or Kyebi, Nalerigu or wherever. It doesn’t matter, you are the Black Stars of Ghana.”

The President, thus, urged the playing body to write their own piece of history, and ensure that their names are written amongst the great names of Ghana’s footballing past, who brought honour and glory to the nation.

“I am determined to provide all the support government can give to sustain you, and give you the best opportunity to bring the cup home,” he stressed.

He continued, “I have no doubt, that you are among the best players on the continent and in the world. So, your slogan, the “Year of Return”, that’s the slogan of the year. This indeed is the year of return (of the AFCON trophy).”

The team was accompanied by the Minister and officials of the Ministry of Youth and Sports, and members of the Normalisation Committee of the Ghana Football Association.
WEST AFRICA IS INDEED POISED FOR ACTION...
