Although AFCON rules state walking off or refusing to play for a prolonged period is grounds for elimination, the decision to strip Senegal of the AFCON title two months after their trophy lift is a bad look for CAF.
It should be within the power of the officials in real time to disqualify a team, but it's a hollow victory for Morocco to appeal and win in this manner, weeks after the trophy lift.
Morocco accepted Senegal's return from their 10-minute walk off, gladly resumed play and took their penalty.
Missing it, losing the game, then appealing to gain the trophy doesn't sit right, even if by the letter of the law there are grounds to do so.

TheSuperNerd: Na lie ooo. You literally just contradicted yourself. Maduka Okoye has been trusted in a major tournamet. He was trusted at Afcon 2021 and we fell.
And omo ehn, E vex me as Akin go afcon no see 1 minute play. As a young player it slows momentum but it is hard getting back your place especially as a young loanee. Pisa coaches dey exact their revenge naa. Akin was a starter pre-afcon but now, post afcon, the coaches no gree am. Also, Gilardino, the man who was starting Akin and later began benching him post afcon was fired after the Inter thrashing and replaced. The current coach has played 5 games winning none and used Akin only once!
Akin had a fine first half of the season but this second half, his gametime is suffering. Uche same thing but thank God he will return to Getafe and dorn that #10 shirt and ball like we know hin to again. And na why I dey scream for Nnadi matter at Marseille. I need these lads playing. Chelle no try for Akin matter at all at Afcon. I said he has only been trusted in 1 major tournament which was the Afcon Tunisia ousted us na |

TheSuperNerd: A simple trivia... GKs wars: Trust and reliability
The Super Eagles are in the final of the 2027 Afcon and will inevitably end that game in penalties shootout. Question is which Goalkeeper do you absolutely trust to man the goal even into penalty shootouts?
Option A. Maduka Okoye
Option B. Arthur Okonkwo
Option C. Francis Uzoho
Option D. Amas Obasogie
Option E. Stanley Nwabali Stanley Nwabali |

TheSuperNerd: Yes, but but but never led the Super Eagles to a Semi final or Final. Na best in Super Eagles we sabi for here. he really haven’t been trusted to man the team’s goal in major tournaments I think the only one he has been to as the team’s number 1 was the Afcon Eguavoen coached the team that they were ousted by Tunisia. How far Akinsanmiro? E be like bobo come back from Afcon Pisa coach no gree play am anymore? |

Predator87: Rhor was more into the German born players. If Eze were German he would have been capped by Rhor long ago After all Okoye got his 1st cap while playing in the German4th division. Dude fumbled on Eze big time. and where is Okoye playing now? For him to make progress from the 4th tier of German football to top tier of Italian football since Rohr handed him his debut in the super eagles implies that the German tactician unearthed a good talent for us |

forgiveness: Which Superstar? Eze that honored invitation to train with us in London?
He waited in vain for a call up to SE then All we needed to do was to cap tie him.
Saka and Oliseh were nobody as at the time we talked about then here.
NFF no approach them at the appropriate time. Perhaps, they couldn't identify their talent. Rohr bleeped up in Eze but if the same Eze wanted to play for us wholeheartedly he would have done that with less persuasion, but instead he preferred accepting a call up to rep England u20 at the expense of the super eagles Pinnick really did all he could especially in getting Saka, Eze and Tammy and amongst the trio the duo that seemed likely were Tammy and Eze Tammy after meeting Pinnick couple of times accepted to play for us but changed his mind after pressure from the English FA coupled with his good performances for Chelsea then Eze trained with the team in England but Rohr refused featuring him in any of the friendlies, also he didn’t call him up for subsequent afcon and World Cup qualifiers afterwards. Eze started gaining momentum in the championship with Reading which attracted the English FA and the rest was history Rohr only called Eze up when he started emerging as one of the bright talents in the English 2nd tier but by then he has already caught the attention of the English FA |

Molde's Nigeria U20 international Daniel Daga has been convicted of committing a sexual act against a person who did not consent to it, and has been sentenced to six months in prison, according to Norwegian television TV 2.
The verdict was delivered by the Nordmøre og Romsdal District Court, which found the midfielder guilty of the offence on Tuesday afternoon.
In addition to receiving a six-month prison sentence, Daga has been ordered to cover NOK 10,000 in legal costs, approximately N1.45 million in Nigerian currency.
Daga's lawyer Astrid Bolstad said the Nigerian will appeal the verdict, maintaining that the player is innocent and that the encounter was consensual.
"He is terribly sorry that the verdict was the way it was. He believes he is innocent and that everything happened with consent, " Astrid Bolstad told TV 2.
"He will appeal the verdict. The verdict is not final. He will be treated like everyone else until he is sentenced."
Molde announced in a statement on Tuesday evening that they are aware of the verdict and the player will not play matches for the time being.
"This is a very demanding matter for all involved. As an employer, Molde Football Club has a responsibility to look after our employees in a responsible manner, while at the same time having great respect for the seriousness of the matter and for the burdens this entails for all parties concerned.
"Based on the situation and the ongoing legal process, the club has decided that the player will not be part of the match squad until further notice."
Daga joined Molde in January 2025 and has appeared in seventeen matches for the five-time Norwegian champions, scoring three goals.
The 19-year-old represented the Flying Eagles at the 2023 and 2025 Fifa U20 World Cups. |
