Dutch giants Ajax have become the latest club to show serious interest in signing Nigerian striker Tolu Arokodare from Wolverhampton Wanderers, Soccernet.ng reports.

Transfer expert Matteo Moretto (via Voetbalprimeur) reports that Ajax are closely following the 25-year-old's situation after his relationship with Wolves completely broke down. The Eredivisie side believe they could take advantage of the uncertainty surrounding the Nigerian international, whose future at Molineux appears all but over.

Ajax have already strengthened their attack by spending around €20 million to sign Brazilian striker Marcos Leonardo, but the Amsterdam club are still searching for another forward with a different style. Standing at 1.97 metres (6ft 6in), Arokodare offers the physical presence, aerial strength and hold-up play that Ajax feel could add another dimension to their attack.

The Dutch champions are rebuilding their squad ahead of another campaign in domestic football and European competition. Club officials believe adding a powerful striker alongside their existing attacking options would give head coach Miguel Ángel Sánchez Muñoz more tactical flexibility during a demanding season.

To be fair, the north SEEMS to be investing heavily on football these days, and I hope they succeed eventhough I don't really rate them highly for now. They always flatter to deceive.

About Eastern origin players bred in the north, they have nothing on players bred in the east. Their best is Mikel, Nsofor and Babayaro but they are dwarfed by Okocha, Kanu, Okechukwu etc

especially when it comes to grassroots football

I'm from the SE but to be fair, some of the best talents from the East that have played for Nigeria were born, raised or trained in the North, especially Jos. The North have talented ballers, but they just struggle to hone that raw skill by going abroad like their counterparts from the South. Right now most of the most exciting Nigerian players coming up are from the North...the likes of Mubarak, Zadok, Bewene, Suleiman Sani etc are all from the North.

Continue deceiving yourself. Go and look at Nigerian youth teams that actually performed at the world stage and tell me where the vast majority of the players came from. They were mostly from the SS and SE. Whenever i see a nigerian youth teams with edo sounding names. Delta sounding names and igbo sounding names i usually feel good abouth that team.Before you accuse me of coming from the southeast I am from Akwa Ibom state. We need to start telling ourselves the truth in Nigetia.

Since the core of our youth team players having been picked from a particular region we haven’t achieved anything tangible in Africa or even made it to the global stage for some time now.

The regions that have provided talents to our cadet teams are the SW,SS and SE and 40%-50% of these players mostly ends up in the super eagles and top leagues in the world

Despite the obvious zombie-fandom both camps exhibit, I enjoyed the best of both Messi and CR7. I enjoyed them so much to the extent of digesting at or in full length their individual and unique traits. I studied and watched everything there is to know or see about Pele and Maradona too and I can tell you authoritatively that watching Messi was like watching one half of Pele in full display and with some Maradona similarities in tow.... the playmaking, the freekicks, the close control dribbles, the kind of goals he specialised in scoring, the cerebral nature of his approach, etc...

So I fully enjoyed both from A to Z and realised in my deep observations and unavoidable analyses of both, for I am naturally a researcher and scientific mind, that both Messi10 and CR7 are in a nutshell, two distinct halves of a mega talent that has walked the earth before in the beautiful game.

I like to understand why certain things work or are the way they are. I dont have the time to expatiate on all research done and observations done or what I discovered to reach this conclusion but this is one of the best ways I can put it.
