Brilliant pausa in his play before feeding Griezmann.
Atletico knows they have a super star but more importantly the team knows they have a player who would play for them and not just himself. He will make them even better and scarier.

TheSuperNerd: RMC Sport feature on Tochukwu Nnadi released this morning.
OM: "Ball vacuum," rugged, "modest"... who is Tochukwu Nnadi, the midfielder recruited at the end of the transfer window?
Just hours before the end of the winter transfer window, Olympique de Marseille completed the transfer of Nigerian midfielder Tochukwu Nnadi, 22, who arrives from Zulte Waregem in Belgium where he has impressed everyone since the start of the season.
"I dream of playing in a top-level league. If I continue to work hard, it's entirely possible." Last July, Tochukwu Nnadi made his Jupier Pro League debut with Zulte Waregem. Not yet a guaranteed starter a year after arriving in Belgium, the 22-year-old Nigerian managed to make a strong impression in his very first match in the top flight.
"The Nigerian delivered a fantastic performance, a real 'vacuum cleaner' on the pitch," wrote HLN , for example , after the opening draw against KV Mechelen (1-1).
Hence the ambitious statement from the defensive midfielder, who was nevertheless described as "a person of remarkable modesty and simplicity" by Het Nieuwsblad.
⚫️A fantastic start to the season and a selection for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations Born in Nigeria in June 2003, Tochukwu Nnadi began his training in the United Arab Emirates with Madenat Al Amal in Dubai. At 18, the 1.76m defensive midfielder then honed his skills in Bulgaria with Botev Plovdiv, where he made his professional debut in April 2022.
After two seasons and 48 appearances, the midfielder packed his bags and moved to Waregem, then playing in the second division. In 2024/2025, he wasn't immediately a guaranteed starter in the eyes of his coach, despite playing 23 league matches. Having come to Europe alone, he admitted it took him some time to adapt to life in Belgium, even though he quickly bonded with Senegalese player Demba Diop (who left for Strasbourg in the summer of 2025). "My family lives in Africa, but I also consider the club my family. My best friend left with Demba (Diop). We were inseparable, but I'm happy for him that he was able to make that choice. I still hear from him every day," he revealed to HLN .
Having developed his personal style and adapted well, Tochukwu Nnadi burst onto the Belgian scene this season. A regular starter whenever available or at his best (18 league matches, 1 assist), the midfielder even saw the doors to the Nigerian national team open at the perfect time. Called up for the first time by Eric Chelle for the final warm-up match for the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations, he was part of the Super Eagles squad – eliminated in the semi-finals by Morocco on penalties – even though he only played 13 minutes against Uganda in the group stage.
⚫️Its flaw? Cardboard boxes (Yellow cards accumulation)
While his impact on Zulte Waregem's momentum is undeniable, Tochukwu Nnadi does have one small flaw, of which he is fully aware: he picks up too many yellow cards. Booked in five of the first six league matches, he was suspended before facing Leuven in September. "It seems like every referee wants to give me a yellow card!" he joked in August. "I do my job, but maybe I should be a bit more reasonable. I'm not supposed to have fifteen yellow cards by the end of the season." A few weeks later, he told Het Nieuwsblad : "I'm trying to stay calmer now."
An aggressive style of play that didn't displease his coach, Sven Vanderbroeck, who saw it as a sign of a dedicated player eager to win for his team. "That's part of his strength. He's one of the few who stands out in this team. We need him, but I'm certainly aware that the number of cards he receives could become a problem," he noted at the same time.
Since September, Tochukwu Nnadi has received "only" two yellow cards and one red card in 12 league appearances, without easing up on the intensity of his pressing. It is surely this profile of a midfield harasser that appealed to Roberto De Zerbi.
On the final day of the transfer window, the player arrived in Marseille on Monday to undergo his medical and made his intentions clear from the airport. "The fans want us to win every match, and I love this summer's spirit. I want to fight every day and bring Marseille to where it deserves to be," he calmly stated in English. As for his fighting spirit , OM fans can certainly count on him. I’m so so happy for this kid |

TheSuperNerd: Well, Nnadi is good enough to shadow Ndidi or even operate in Onyeka's role as another option. Not as experienced yet but then experience climbs with more games. Nnadi is good enough to rival or even displace Onyedika as Ndidi's main backup and can still be considered a profile for the Onyeka role as he is very mobile and can cover grounds. The U20 WC in 2023 especially showed this.
And maybe others are sleeping on Anthony Dennis but not some of us who have mentioned him a couple of times here. Dennis will get his move. Time is the only factor. Nnadi is a testimony.
Do you know Nnadi that just moved now was first beaten to a top 5 league move by Pape Demba Diop, last summer, who moved to Strasbourg but is now on loan at Toulouse. The thing pain me that time ehn coz I was really angry at how the Senegalese kid was given way more chances in Waregem's midfield than Nnadi then in the 2nd tier which saw them promoted. Diop got the move as Waregem's main man in midfield in their promotion success.
Good thing Nnadi fought back and made good use of Diop's departure to help keep Waregem in decent footing in the league this season, at least above relegation.
So give it time, the Dennis Goztepe Chapter will end soon, maybe by the summer, and a hopefully a top 5 league chapter begins. Can’t wait for Dennis to get his breakthrough too, will surely happen just matter of time!! |
