Real Madrid have made Manchester City striker Carlos Tevez their number one target for the summer, according to the Daily Mirror. Jose Mourinho is asking his paymasters at the Bernabeu to make a £35m bid for the Argentina star, and the paper claims that the club's general manager Jorge Valdano has sounded out Tevez's agent Kia Joorabchian about a deal. Chelsea's billionaire owner Roman Abramovich is to pull out all the stops to bring Guus Hiddink and Gianfranco Zola back to Stamford Bridge to run the club, according to Tuesday's papers. Almost all of the tabloids report that the Russian will do everything he can to prise Hiddink away from his current role as Turkey boss, while he is equally determined to bring in Chelsea legend Zola as his number two. The Sun, Daily Mirror and Daily Express all carry the story, with the Express claiming that Hiddink will be offered £6 million a year to take the reins once again. The Dutchman had a successful spell as temporary manager in 2009 which ended with him leading the Blues to victory in the FA Cup. http://gblsoccer..com/2011/05/chelsea-owner-to-get-hiddink-and-zola.html |
Moments ago Manchester City justified a little the millions they have spent in the past few years on players. In match which both teams needed to win to keep hopes of qualifying for Champions League alive the Boys from Manchester proved the better side and only needed an unreplied goal to become sure of at least qualifying series of Champions league football next season. Even a third-placed finish - and automatic qualification for the group stages of the exclusive competition - remains a possibility as Robert Mancini's side moved to within two points of misfiring Arsenal. The win was doubly sweet for City, considering their hopes of reaching this season's Champions League were dashed by Spurs in the corresponding fixture 12 months ago, when Crouch's only goal of the game sent the North London club through to Europe's premier club competition at City's expense. http://gblsoccer..com/2011/05/manchester-city-beat-tottenham-1-0-to.html |
Chelsea's European record against English teams in open play is six wins, seven draws and two defeats. United's is four wins, two draws and one defeat. The two clubs meet at every level over the coming weeks. The two academies clash in the semi-final of the FA Youth Cup, Chelsea being the defending champions, and the Reserves meet in two weeks. Then towards the end of the season, the seniors see out the Barclays Premier League campaign at Old Trafford. Chelsea recently recovered from being a goal down to the Red Devils at the Bridge to win 2-1. That result means Man United have not won at the Bridge for nine years. Chelsea, in contrast, have managed three wins at Old Trafford since 2005. Ferguson and Carlo Ancelotti and are both bidding to win the European Cup again and join record-holder Bob Paisley on three wins trophy in the competition Just two teams have ever won or even reached the final of the Champions League on home soil: Borussia Dortmund (1997 in Munich) and Juventus (1996 in Rome). Five teams won European Cup finals in their own country: Real Madrid (1957), Inter Milan (1965), Man Utd (1968), Ajax (1972) and Liverpool (1978). http://soccerfiesta..com/2011/04/champions-league-match-preview-chelsea.html |

We all want to be honest and forthcoming in an interview. So when the question “What are you making now?” or “What kind of salary are you looking for?” comes up, it’s tempting to just cite a number or a range and move forward – but try to resist the urge. If you reveal your salary expectations too early in the process, you lose two big opportunities: 1. The opportunity to make them love you before they know your price. 2. The opportunity to demonstrate your ability to handle an uncomfortable situation confidently and respectfully, without caving (a prized skill in most jobs). To Answer or Not to Answer? If you’ve done your homework, you should have a fairly good idea of the typical salary range for someone with your level of experience in the kind of position you’re seeking within your market, http://ngjobsncareers.com/2011/04/how-to-answer-the-salary-question-during-job-interviews.html |
Joseph Yobo has ruled out retiring from the Super Eagles in the immediate future. Instead, the defender has set his sights on hitting a century of appearances for his country. The Nigeria skipper marked 80 caps and 10 unbroken years of international representation when he led the Super Eagles out against Ethiopia, and says he has rediscovered his love of the game. "There was a time when things wre so bad that I thought about retirement, but now the spirit has changed, the atmosphere has changed and I am enjoying the new set up," Yobo told KickOffNigeria.com. "I want to play on. When you are enjoying the game, enjoying family life, playing regularly for you club and staying fit, you can't be thinking of retirement. "For me, the target now is to try and see if I can get to 100 caps, and also win something. I have played for 10 years now and I haven't won anything. But with this group of players and the coach, I believe we can win something." With more and more young players come through, Yobo admits that no player's position is safe. "There are a lot of good young players coming through, and I know that I have to step up my game. But of course, if there is a player who comes in who is better than me, I will encourage him, http://soccerfiesta..com/2011/04/joseph-yobo-targets-100-appearances-for.html |
The impression you make in a job interview goes a long way to determine whether you get a job or not. Given that today’s graduates mostly parade certificates they cannot defend interviewers place more emphasis on a candidates performance during job interviews. Here are some advice on how to ensure you impress your interviewers and come out top in your next job interview; - Research the Organization, Know Vital Things About Them: Knowledge is your key to doing well at the interviewer. Some questions you will be asked will be about the organization and if you don’t show enough knowledge about the organization and its activities you do not stand a chance of getting employed with them. - Be Confident & Courteous: Confidence doesn’t mean pride. Be sure of yourself and one way to do that is to prepare well. Think a bit before you answer questions and do not use careless words. You need to come across as someone who thinks before he acts or talks. - Know the Kind of Questions to Expect and Prepare for Them: In most job interviews you will expect two forms of questions viz Personality questions and Professional questions. The first, personality questions, are questions targeted at knowing the kind of person you are, how you think and whether you can fit into the organization. The professional questions simply test your knowledge and skills for the job to ascertain your readiness to take on the job. It is easier to prepare for professional questions as you can research and get updated on skills and knowledge needed for the kind of job you want. Enough of talking and more of action needed on the side of INEC though I'll say that the politicians who made the electoral act undermined the process by not clearly spelling out punishment for electoral offenders |

David Luiz headed Chelsea into the lead against Manchester City before Ramires finished off the visitors in stoppage time. The Brazilian duo found the net late in the game following a tense encounter at the Bridge. The win takes the Blues back up to third in the table, four points behind second-place Arsenal. The opening goal crowned off a superb performance from David Luiz, who dominated alongside John Terry in Chelsea's defence. Fernando Torres returned to the starting line-up on his 27th birthday, he was joined up front by Salomon Kalou while Didier Drogba and Nicolas Anelka sat on the bench, both later to come on. Branislav Ivanovic moved to right-back instead of substitute Jose Bosingwa. Michael Essien sat in front of the two centre-backs next to Frank Lampard. The visitors were without talisman Carlos Tevez after the Argentinian failed a pre-match fitness test. Instead they lined up with Edin Dzeko as lone striker. http://soccerfiesta..com/2011/03/match-report-chelsea-2-vs-manchester.html |

The Champions League quarter-final draw concluded on Friday with some very interesting fixtures lying in wait for the coming months. A repeat of the 2008 Champions League final, Chelsea clash with Manchester United in a tie that promises there will be at least one English semi-finalist. Meanwhile, fellow English side and Champions League new-boys Tottenham face Jose Mourinho's Real Madrid - a remarkable achievement at this stage for a side who were bottom of the Premier League 18 months ago. And of course with Barcelona drawing Shakhtar Donetsk, there's the distinct possibility of a Clasico semi-final if both Spanish giants - who will be hot favourites - progress that far. Italy's last hope, Inter, have arguably the easiest draw of the pack as they face German side Schalke, a team currently plagued by internal problems.
