After putting up a spectacular show last year, hosting a successful FIFA World Cup last year, the Confederation of African Football (CAF) yesterday opted for South Africa as new host for the Africa Youth Championships. The tournament, originally scheduled for March 18 - April 1, in Libya was postponed due to civil unrest in the country and is now billed to kick off on April 17 - May 2. “We decided to move the African Youth Championship to South Africa and it will be played from April 17 to 2 May,” CAF President Issa Hayatou said in a statement. New hosts South Africa will thus replace Libya in the eight-team tournament in Group A. They will face Mali, Egypt and Lesotho who are also in the same group. The president of South Africa Football Association, Kirsten Nematandani said his country is ready to put up another top notch performance both as hosts and competitors. South Africa had declared hundreds of millions as profit from hosting the last world cup http://soccerfiesta..com/2011/03/caf-decides-new-host-for-african-youth.html |
Remember, before you read on, that everything I am writing here on this blog is meant to get you started earning money , managing it and increasing your networth with lots of commonsense. The articles might be down-to-earth but that’s what you will need if you hope to get onto the lane of big-earning business people. No long story here just real, hard-hitting facts, a little anecdote ( since people love stories to motivate them ) and lots of good, old advice. Now back to the topic. I know you can’t wait anymore for what I’ve got to dish out. The first advice however is this: Don’t take anything you know for granted because what you know might be a revelation to others who don’t know it. But there still remains this nagging question, How on earth do you make tons of money from your skills if you don’t know what skills u have got ? WHAT SKILLS CAN GIVE YOU AT LEAST A HUNDRED THOUSAND DOLLARS ANNUALLY? My answer? Almost any skill can. It all depends on how you package both yourself and your skills and also on how good you are with those talents or skills. Before we start talking about how you can turn your unused gifts into millions lets first consider what kind of talents or skills you can actually work upon to earn your money. continue, http://nairabrains.com/2009/11/07/how-to-make-tons-of-money-from-your-talents-and-skills-2/ |
Being productive isn't many things. It isn't working on your job all day long. It isn't taking home work and shutting yourself away in the study. These actions instead put our life relationships in jeopardy. Productivity is getting the most things done in lesser time which will probably leave you time to enjoy the lighter side of life and build relationships. Amongst all the talk I've heard and read about productivity it boils down to one single thing which makes sense to me (maybe not to you but felt all the same to share it). I summarise it thus; Make a daily plan, Start right away from the first activity, Stop when you are supposed to. We mustn't all do everything in a day but if we can in the night before or early hours of each day have a semi-accurate plan of the duties facing us for the day and get about working through the plan one after the other we would at least end the day more fulfilled for having achieved more. I am always (unapologetic) a keep-it-smart and simple type. Why cluster your time and in the name of trying to be more productive take hours going through so-called productivity tips ( I even once saw a list of fifty ways to be more productive). If we spent our time learning those fifty productivity tips we'll definitely end up having no productivity to boast of. |
ETISALAT has announced its intention to purchase Alheri Mobile Services Limited, a fully owned subsidiary of the Dangote Group and a holder of a 3G license for Nigeria. The acquisition will give Etisalat Nigeria immediate access to and full use of a 3G license in line with GSM operators in the West African nation. Steven Evans, CEO of Etisalat Nigeria, said at the weekend that his telecoms company was delighted to acquire the 3G license, which is an essential element of its plans for the future. He expressed strong optimism that with the acquisition of 3G, the company could further develop its data and mobile broadband portfolio in order to offer its customers even higher levels of service. “There is pent-up demand in Nigeria for broadband and we intend to be leaders in satisfying it,” said Evans Earlier, Boye Olusanya, managing director of Alheri Mobile and head of Dangote’s telecommunications arm, stated that “it makes sense for us to sell Alheri Mobile to Etisalat Nigeria as we believe that the market here can only sustain four mobile operators in the medium to long term”. Olusanya further stated that Dangote Group would use the capital raised to develop its other assets in the telecommunications market.- source: http://ngjobsncareers.com |
Roger Burden, acting chairman of the Football Association, has withdrawn his application for the permanent position saying he can no longer trust FIFA members after the failure of England’s bid to host the 2018 World Cup. “I recognise that an important part of the role is liaison with FIFA, our global governing body. I am not prepared to deal with people whom I cannot trust and I have withdrawn my candidacy,” he said in a statement. He added that England’s bid team in Zurich, which included Prime Minister David Cameron and the second in line to the throne, Prince William, were promised votes which had not been delivered by the Executive Committee (Exco) members. Burden, who was appointed in May after rising through the ranks of the FA as representative for Gloucestershire in central England, said he would continue as acting chairman until a successor could be found. His decision followed a day of recriminations over England’s bid, which attracted just two votes out of 22 — one by their own representative — from FIFA’s executive committee in Thursday’s poll to decide the venue for the 2018 World Cup. The decision went to Russia which will stage soccer’s biggest showpiece for the first time. Qatar beat the United States and three others in the vote to decide the hosts in 2022. “I have no issue with Russia’s winning bid. I am sure they will put on a great World Cup and I have congratulated them,” Burden said. Widely acclaimed “We were equal top of FIFA’s own technical assessment of the four bids. We were top of an independent assessment of the best commercial bids and our presentation on Thursday was widely acclaimed as the best of the 2018 and 2022 bids. “Against this background, I am struggling to understand how we only achieved two votes. It is difficult to believe that the voting was an objective process. “On top of that, Prince William, the Prime Minister and other members of our delegation were promised votes that did not materialise.” Burden, who succeeded David Triesman who himself stood down after making leaked allegations of a corrupt 2010 World Cup plot between Spain and Russia, declined to blame the British media for England’s failure in the vote at FIFA’s Zurich HQ. “I am well aware that some of the UK media coverage could have upset some of the FIFA executive committee. We have a free press in our country and we all have to live with adverse comment from time to time.” Earlier on Friday, England’s bid chief Andy Anson suggested FIFA President Sepp Blatter influenced Exco members before the vote by reminding them of British media stories which alleged corruption against them and led to two being banned. He said that unless the selection process was changed it was not worth bids like England’s bothering with the process. “When you have the best technical bid, fantastic inspection visits and the best economic report – and from what people told us the best presentation yesterday – it’s quite hard to stomach that seemed to count for absolutely nothing. “Having only 22 guys voting gives them too much power and influence.” |
In a few moments from now, FIFA Executives will begin to select the host nations for the 2018 and 2022 World Cups. The 2018 edition has been zoned to Europe with Spain-Portugal pursuing a joint ticket, England and Russia are also in the race. Where do you think it should go? The 2022 World Cup bidding battle is between Qatar who are bidding to bring it to the Far East for the first time. Also the US, Australia are in the race for the hosting right. According to the BBC, FIFA will in a press conference in Zurich later this afternoon announce the host nations for the 2018 and 2022 World Cups but the truth is that the chosen nations will have to work hard to beat the excellent performance of the 2010 hosts, South Africa. The football world waits. |

On Saturday 16 October, BBC World Service, in partnership with the British Council, launches the 12th International Radio Playwriting Competition. Writers around the world are invited to write a one-hour radio play on any subject. You have five months to write your play and the winning entries will be broadcast on BBC World Service in autumn 2011. There are two first prizes: one for writers for whom English is a first language, the other for those with English as a second language. Last year, for the first time, English as a second language entries overtook the first language entries. The competition is unique in that it is only open to writers outside the UK. The winners – last year’s were from Ghana and USA – also receive a trip to London to see their play recorded. This is the only competition of its kind in the world – it is at the heart of what BBC World Drama does. It’s about hearing new, different stories and voices and is a reminder of what a fantastic medium Radio Drama is… This competition never fails to elicit an truly impressive response. Last year, more than 1100 entries were received. Entries are welcome from published authors as well as from writers who are totally inexperienced. Former winners have gone on to write again for BBC World Service Drama, making the competition a potential launch-pad to a future career. Visit BBC Website to get more details |
Spammers and hackers are constantly trying to take advantage of unsuspecting consumers (also known as my parents) online. According to a three-month study by antivirus developer PandaLabs, these cyber-criminals are creating around 57,000 new fake websites every week. That's close to 3 million per year. And all of it is being done to exploit major brands. These counterfeit sites are aimed at tricking users into providing personal information. So their biggest targets are banks and transaction companies such as Visa, Amazon, and PayPal. Together, these sites make up about 65% of the fakes. Clearly, hackers are cutting right to the chase: bank accounts and social security numbers. |

Man with all the flesh and bones would have amounted to a colossal waste had it not been for the mind, that single phenomenon that sets it apart from other creatures. The mind has been described by many philosophers and writers in various ways. Some see the mind as being in the head, some say it’s in the heart. But I like to see the mind as beyond the physical boundaries of the heart or head. It is the substance of our thoughts and actions. The mind is so powerful that with it man has conceived and effected changes in our world which otherwise would have been impossible. Like the author of Think and Grow Rich would say, ‘Anything the Mind of Man can Conceive It Can Achieve’ Here are the success traits all minds have and the reasons why your mind can be used to attain any accomplishment you desire; a) The Mind is Imaginative; if this were not so we wouldn’t be able to even find the simplest solutions to problems. The ability to take this ability of the mind to a new level determines how successful we become in life. There is nothing the mind cannot imagine. Use this to your advantage. Imagine things the way you want them, put your imaginations down. All ideas started as imaginations and musings. b) The Mind Believes; The mind is capable of believing even when it has not seen. Ask Christians, Muslims and indeed anybody who has religion. Even atheists all have something they believe in. The mind can seriously believe in something and work towards achieving it. Use it well. BELIEVE and set out to accomplish. c) The Mind is Elastic; this is closer to the mind’s imaginative qualities. The mind is flexible and can think or imagine to endless boundaries. The mind is a subject that cannot be exhausted in one’s whole life. d) The Mind Perseveres; this ability of the mind to endure harsh and unfavorable conditions is the reason why many prisoners of war during the two world wars survived. Once a man’s mind is made up to live or not to give in such man has almost always stood his ground and endured all sorts of torture and still not yield or break. Why can’t it be then applied in business and our personal life? Most divorces occur because the partners involved are unable to tap into the elasticity and adaptability of their mind. Learn to appreciate and use the mind today. The world will connive to make things better for you if you have the right mindset. |
