SaintRobs: Boss,is it a must for us to travel down to IFE for the submission of the hostel application form,or some one on campus can be of help to do it on our behalf? every submission ought to be in person. But 'hostel application form' sounds somehow to me cause I'm oblivious of such and if it happens that one is unable to get hostel during the reg struggle, one is expected to visit the DSA and put down their details. |

sweetchi26: good evening, tanks for all the info so far....the state of origin stuff are we going to need it during d online registration or we are gonna present it during resumption as far as I know, the answer is NO for faculty of Admin and Social sciences. But it's advisable that you have it for other factors(maybe bursery) and future purpose, especially if you're from faculty of technology. |

The alleged voting at the department of Local government Studies is nothing but a propaganda which holds no water. Kindly disregard any related rumour. |

EmBashir: Sorry bro, just want to know... Is connecting to WiFi on campus free of charge?? Am asking dis because i want to update my Windows 8 to Windows 8.1... Even if not free of charge, I prefer using WiFi to doing data subscription o you can only access eportal for free while connection to other websites would require that you purchase INTECU card which ranges from #100 (4hours (unlimited download)) upward. |

EmBashir: Dont forget that: Bio-data form (course registration form) is included in the documents we are required to print (as soon as we hv access to d eportal for reg). And you wont be able to submit them until ur documents are complete. Bio-data form (or course reg form) can be filled as from May 4th. Check the newly-released academic calendar sir, bio-data form is different from course registration form. Bio-data form is the form that captures your personal details e.g name, date of birth, home address, etc while course registration form is the one that captures the courses (core, restricted electiv and special electives) you are to take and write their exams in a semester or at the end of the session (LIB and SER001). You would have access to the course registration form after the payment of all fees. However, you must not rush in the registration of courses as you are expected to fill in (a total maximum of 24 units and a minimum of 15) all your core courses first, followed by one restricted elective (depending on the deparment) and special elective course(s). It is advisable that you consult a stalite before filling your course registration form. |

Masterkolade: Really in doubt about printing the notification of admission someone is even telling me to get a coloured copy, another guy said its the school admission letter that is required. you are to use any of the two during the submission of documents at the faculty. But print the JAMB admission letter in coloured form (NYSC things) and print the e-portal notification of admission in the form of white and black. |
Education › Re: The Obafemi Awolowo University Admission Thread For 2014/2015 Academic Session. by papindinho(m): 4:38pm On Mar 24, 2015 |
EmBashir: NO... You dnt need to be in Ife or its environs b4 you do the online-screening which will commence as at 20th April. However, for the submission of ur documents (to different academic offices), you need to, because such cannot be done on a proxy Exactly boss. Permit me to add however that, when the time for submission of documents (especially at the faculty) comes, make sure you do it as at when due. Failure to do that may result to delay in the production of one's matriculation number which would invariably affect one when results of some courses are being released (most especially first semester results i.e test and exam). |

mikeczay: guys pls do course reg have cost implication? if you happen to be on campus with your system or Android phone then you can make use of the wireless internet service by connecting it to that of any faculty (arts, social sciences, law, health sciences etc) including the senate too. Accessing the eportal is free as well as downloads and uploads on the same platform. However, it would be ideal that you scan all your documents and have their soft copy on your flash drive or phone. The cost of making photocopies and scanning are relatively low on campus unlike off-campus where scanning can be done at a rate as high as #150 as against its being done on campus for a maximum of #50 (currently #30). Printing (#3 per copy) amongst other goodies. Permit me to implore you however that, you should endeavour to save the soft copies of the scanned documents on your electronic mail (e-mail) as it remains the best store for such properties. The documents to be scanned include: all results, birth certificate, passport photograph and your signature. Feel free to ask any question |

Solexy96: The requirements to be printed are as follow: 1. WAEC/NECO/GCE O'Level result(s) 2. Birth Certificate/Sworn Declaration of Age 3. Admission Letter (printed with N1000 JAMB e-facility card) 4. UTME Original Result Slip (also printed with N1000 JAMB e-facility card) 5. Post UTME result/Pre-degree final result (printed with OAU screening result checker) 6. Local Government certificate of origin.
Upon successful access to the eportal with your 2014/2015 JAMB reg number, you are also required to print:
6. NOTIFICATION OF ADMISSION (admission status on eportal) 7. Bio-data form (course reg form) 8. Hostel slip (optional)
As far as I know abt documentary requirements thou and make at least 4 copies of each document. However, you may get to know that you don't need some of the documents now but it's imperative and expedient that you get them now. Nice one Solexy96, boss I hail o. |

spenca: File a report to your HOD concerning that ,it is against the school regulation for a student to have more than 3 papers in a day infact it is 2 but lecturers do let it fly ,wait ! How can you have 4 exams in a day in OAU when you have only 3 period hours for exams that is 8am -11am , 12noon - 3pm ,4pm -6pm so I don't know how you came about yours except it is a carry over or electives( which are not really exams in an OAU sense) carry over kwa? Lol. Nah. Elective things. Oh! But I tell you, electives such as SER002 remains more of an exam. Thanks for that piece even though aware of that in the first place. The time schedule you listed are accurate albeit it is not always so in all cases. A case is when you have two papers within the same time frame of 8am-11am just like I have them on April1st and 4th. |

longest time... Ariyke: congratulations on ur admission dear
To ur question in my own perspective I would say staying in the hostel has more advantages than disadvantages
*by staying in the hostel u get better information dissemination which is very important, u get to stay with ur fellow freshers and u won't feel inferior whatsoever and it's nearer to academics which saves u cost of transporting urself if u stay off campus and it's cheaper
The only disadvantage is the fact that u might not like the environment, the room is overcrowded and the toilet and bathroom facility might be a turn off
If u ask for my opinion I would advise u to stay in the hostel for ur 1st year then u can move off in ur 2nd year
Wishing u a happy resumption in advance well said.... I don't see myself staying off camp though. |
