samir101ng:Thanks for your help. Can you please send me the link to join the DIY Nigeria telegram group on 07035383828. Secondly, will the ratings on the pictures you attached be perfect for protecting 5kva/48v inverters? |
Hello Good People, My 5kva/48v inverter suffered lightning damage a few weeks ago. I’ve spent some reasonable amount of money in the course of the repair, and I wouldn’t want to have a similar experience again. Please I need a help on how best I can protect the inverter from lightning damage. I would appreciate any device (with price) that can help me achieve this protection. Thank you all in anticipation to your kind response. |
kingreign:Thank you. I tried to upload a short video about the sound but couldn’t. Maybe if I can have a WhatsApp number to forward it. |
Good day good people of Nairaland, My 2012 Jeep Wrangler had an engine problem. It was throwing code P06DD (Engine oil pressure circuit performance problem) with a ticking sound on the engine top. It sometimes refused to accelerate past 3500RPM, while it moves perfectly other times. After several mechanical interventions including changing of oil pump, oil cooler, tapet valve and rocker arm, the engine didn’t get so much better. We decided to get a tokumbo engine which was mounted yesterday. The new engine accelerates well, however it has a small ticking sound coming from the right top of the engine. When I complained about the ticking sound, the mechanic and other people around tried to convince me that the engine may have been parked for long, that the sound will clear when I drive the car and oil circulates well. I have driven the car yesterday and today, but the ticking sound is still there. Should I start pushing for am engine change or will the sound eventually clear? Please people with experience of tokumbo engine I need help. |
osayuwamwen:I presume you are using a 12 volts system. 13.7volts is the reading when a 12volts system is fully charged. Maybe you don’t have plenty load on the systems that will push it to generate more than the 416 watts it generated. What brand of solar panel are you using? |
Peterlove11:Thanks. Ooh my naija! |
Dam5reey:I’m Using Luminous Tubular batteries ( Two 12volts 220ah) purchased from the Authorized distributor “SimbaDen. The inverter isn’t equipped with record of daily generation. If I load the inverter with more than 1.2kw, the balance of the excess will be drawn from the battery. |
Peterlove11:The angle should be between 35- 45 degrees. |
brightk:Thanks for your response, Honestly I didn’t check the panels individually. The panels are positioned East-West and facing due north. I couldn’t get it to face due south because of the roof orientation. There is no shading at all. In fact the panel receives quality sunlight between about 7:30am - 5:30pm. Meanwhile, I used 2*7 AWG wire, that’s about 2*12mm square and the length between the panel and the inverter is about 10 meters. See attached pix

Hello good people, I installed six pieces of 350 watts Felicity solar panel mono (3 each in series and paralleled). That is totaling 2,100 watts. I’m using 3.5Kva/24v Felicity Hybrid inverter IVPM 3524 with 80amp inbuilt MPPT charge controller. The system is only able to generate 1,200watts maximum on very bright sunny days, even with depleted batteries and load. So I’m wondering if other users have similar experience. This means I’m loosing 900 watts of my total installed capacity. Is this normal? Please what are your experiences? |
My 2012 Jeep Wrangler had check engine light illuminated. I diagnosed it and fault code P0430 came up. “P0430 Status: Confirmed Possible decryptions (note control module): OBDII: Catalytic converter system, bank 2 - efficiency below threshold” I had the exhaust system removed and inspected, only to discover that one of the catalytic converter was empty. I couldn’t get the direct fit catalytic converter for the car. The parts sellers at Apo mechanic village were charging 80k to reconstruct mine, while a guy in Lagos charged 200k to place an order from US. I wasn’t convinced with any of the Apo parts sellers because none of them could guarantee that whatever they reconstruct will off the check engine light. Luckily I saw this oxygen sensor spacer trend on Nairaland. The offer was fair and worth trying, then I met the seller “correct guy” and he gave me the O2 sensor spacer. I was skeptical at first but when I installed it, it worked like miracle. The check engine light disappeared immediately. I did a live date of the oxygen sensor and the one with spacer ran cleaner that the one that has catalytic converter. The spacer works like magic. The live date in the picture was how bad it ran before I installed the spacer. Sorry I didn’t get the screenshot of how it runs now, but it’s more straight around 0.2 to 0.3.

mayor2013:I had d car scanned, and it showed brake fluid switch problem. When d mechanic checked, he discovered that the break fluid was very low. He added break fluid and the VSA and hand brake warning light disappeared. Thanks for your advice. |
Please, while considering the above request, also take a look at this. I own a Honda accord 2009 model. My battery got drained and I had to borrow another to start the car, then placed mine back while the engine was running (not jump starting). Two to three days later, the Vehicle Stability Assistance (VSA) and hand break light came up on the instrument cluster. The car is moving fine, no dragging issue, as it should be if the hand break was on. I have had d light cleared/Deleted but they came back on about 2hours later. Please, the good people and car experts here, what could be the problem and its implications, and should be my fear? HELP!!!!! |
