All this endless ranting, as if he’s blameless, when he’s the one who chose to abandon the marriage.
Did he stop for a moment to think about the pain he’d cause his children, about how his leaving tears their world apart? Now he’s upset, that she’s asking for child support—how else was she supposed to provide for their children?
It’s heartbreaking, the way he turns his back and then complains when life demands responsibility.
Additionally, he has the option to pursue joint custody if he wishes to spend more time with his children.

papyjaypaul:
I still don't understand why African women change their surnames. It is not an African culture but many of them don't even know what they are doing. It is African culture they think is backward while European or American culture they think is woke is the one that will maltreat them and mislead them.

The British saw marriage as a transaction which makes you the woman his property. In Africa, marriage is between families and you are not his property. You are the child of your father and your family name is intact. If you divorce him, there is a way to go around it but you do not take his name. No be your husband born you or own you. The British brought this culture of theirs under colonialism and you adopted it. You adopted their white wedding. Now you want to adopt their gay nonsense but your forefathers tradition and polygamy is the worst. It's the one that deprived you of freedom. It's the one that took your surname. It's the one your mothers were slaves, mumu and too calm. You better take some time to learn about your history and stop condemning everything using European brain and Arab eyes. The people you think are more advanced than you don't respect their women the way Africa does. Quote me anywhere. But our women want to eat their cake and have it. They want me and women to be equal in marriage. They want to be the head of the house. Go on and find out. The other woman I read already took 2Face's surname in Caps. This one here cannot change her ig name 🤡 Your African culture already knew what to do when it's marriage, divorce or death. No culture is perfect but if you listen to most Nigerians, they don't even know their culture. They just want to be like oyinbo wey no get culture. Oyinbo wey de oppress women. Oyinbo wey you get right pass them but dem deceive you to think you are oppressed.

Keep fighting for fake freedom and be abusing Africa, saying what we have here is patriarchy, is this or that. Until you taste the other side, you won't know how much freedom you had from those who love you. Una go get sense by force.

papyjaypaul:
There is nothing like that. The problem is that we do not appreciate our culture and history. Do you know that markets are connected to the Oba? The Iyaloja is a member of the King's cabinet and the King gets to know the feelings of the people through what the market women say? Our mothers worked and earned without problem until the British colonialists came to destroy our system of government. It won't happen in Igbo markets because historically Igbo don't have the same system but the story of Funmilayo and Aba women's rights should have taught Nigerians some lessons about who they are. Alas!

Our society has been destroyed by Western ideas and some people who call themselves feminists without knowing who they are will say their fathers are misogynistic and all that nonsense. They don't know how powerful their mothers were before oyinbo came to destroy what they had. Now the oyinbo are contaminating their minds the way they did in the west to make them compete with men instead of us working together as a society. Everyone had their roles, both men and women. The same British called our fathers idiots for giving their women so much freedom such as Iyaloja!!! They did not allow women participate in their own democracies, today women are looking for crumbs to eat in that thing they call percentage whatever. They are begging the Presidents to give them space. How foolish can Africans be!

Do your own research on why we had the Aba Women Riot and the Abeokuta riot, all led by women. Even in Black America, women were tired of being lied to because they saw white massa sleeping with them and giving them false hopes. Women are protectors of the society. Today I saw one boy on Nairaland who said a woman without 500k should not get married. Women in Nigeria have been raped off their power and deceived with feminine rights by oyinbo who make them hate their ancestors and love fake oyinbo rights. The women did not take a careful study of how these oyinbo gave their own women rights and when.

Before you reply me, if you choose to reply me, listen to Prof first and reflect on who we historically are. If you don't know your history, you will repeat the mistakes of the past

of course before colonialism men held charge in societies. We had kingdoms and women were seen and not heard. In fact you dare not try to be heard as a woman. However today women want to not only be heard but be in charge. So their own values are now forced down everyone. So the destruction of Africa started from the colonialism not African men per se. If African men had been able to fight them and won then it would have been a saner climate today
Hnmmm fair points but I don't totally agree with you. My little history shows that women were more empowered then than now. Colonialism convinced them that they were oppressed. African women were held in high esteem and they had honor. I don't pretend like there were no excesses but the rights our women had, the women in Britain did not have them. Yet the British called us idiots for giving women freedom while they were praying God save the queen. They will destroy your own and elevate theirs. Many of our women don't know that they had electoral franchise before these women they are trying to copy. Now who is the oppressorhuh

The western cultures saw women as properties, that's why the surname is that of the man while we here believe that you belong to your father. We don't buy you during marriage, this is why marriage in Africa is not a union of 2 people but 2 families.

This is why I am afraid of religious zealots. Some people want to control women using religion while our cultures saw the role of women and men in society.

truth is the black woman has the worst inferiority complex in the world. That's why Africa is a mess cos the mother's pass on this inferiority complex to their sons and daughters and so the neo colonialism continues
This is true because to destroy a society, all you need to do is destroy the women but what is not true is how you pretend to ignore the men who hold political power. What about them? Are they not the ones who sold us out? If the men are men, they will correct what they see that is wrong in the women. On this one, the men are more guilty than the women.

Life is experience. Parents, take your kids out to the real world, it's part of education. Everything is not in school alone or the internet. You as a parent, you are the first source of education to your children, don't expect the teachers to do everything for you. Once this girl sees how mummy brings things to the house, she will understand mommy instead of being a spoilt kid. She needs to go to the market and find out how the real world works. How do you become a functional adult if you don't know where your food is from and how it is made. This is how parents spoil boys until they need your daughter to keep taking care of them as an adult. They can't cook, they can't boil water, everything is done for them and they become an entitled kid. Parents today are losing it. It's an experience that will make the girl grow. Stop leaving your kids in the hands of YouTube and TikTok. Let them get out to the real world. Parents are so protective today that the children can't do anything themselves. Sweet mother ❤️

Also, nothing like 24 hours tv. TV where i lived came on at 4 pm every day, maybe 12 noon on saturdays (till 1991, when Cadbury breakfast tv started ariring early at 7-8 am). And parents controlled TV viewing times. Any programme considered immoral...tv got turned off. (lol).

And my father used to yell at us to watch educative programmes like Speak out back then. Anything entertainement was a waste of time...lol.

Nowadays, DSTV and the internet have given us a variety of choices, but it kind of has robbed innocence. At least under the good old days of NTA....most of the time programming was not kids oriented, so we had to go out and play until sunset. Now...
I agree with your underlying sentiments but I disagree with the conclusion. There's also more educational materials on TV and online these days. More than ever that you don't need to visit a library anymore, or for the most part of it. What has changed is that we now have LAZY Parents. Parents who want to blame everyone else but themselves. Parents who want to put career above their family. Parents who prefer a house help ie the Smartphone to take care of their own children. Parents who are no longer forming a tribe and community of support but doing mind my business. Parents who want to blame government for children they brought to this world, but they will never accept responsibility for their own failures. Parents in the past were more intentional, despite their shortcomings. Parents today only want to blame others for the problem but they never want to be part of the solution.

Don't forget that softsell magazines and pawn cassettes, bad influence was still around in the past. Parents today don't want to evolve, they want to keep blaming their own parents for failed parenting or the mistakes those ones made instead of trying to fix it. Every generation will face its own unique challenges but the basics of raising a family will never change from Amazon's headquarters in US to Amazon forest in Brazil.

It's short sightedness. There are many mad people in the market, do you want to impress them too?

This is why the foundation of every child is important so they have values that will guide them throughout life's fleeting temptations. At what cost will you make money? Sell your body and mind to the devil to please him then clap hands for God later?

If it is a medical surgery, it is still wrong. Why? Because the world doesn't need to know. We have let the smartphone and social media control us that we are now slaves to it, giving it updates and information about ourselves. No wonder Zuckerberg asked, "what's on your mind?" Africa proverb say, "fem, no be everything wey de your mind u de talk".

Yesterday, the Botregald or whatever his moniker is was supporting Israel because he thinks Arabs are worse. Whether it's Arabs, Europeans or Hindu, any oppressor is my enemy but guess what? This South Africa guy Botregald apparently has no idea what Israel did to their country. He is looking at West Africa and the Sahel without knowing his own country first. Africans don't know who their enemy is, religion was the blind cover on both sides, Islam and Christianity.

Botragelad:
Oh, so Israel is the one ruining Africa? Did you forget the Arab slavers who dragged your ancestors across the Sahara in chains, or the African kings who sold them for profit? Not the corrupt leaders who steal your money while your roads crumble?

Keep screaming about Israel. That’ll definitely fix your electricity, your schools, and your economy. The rest of the planet is busy actually doing things. But no problem, at least you’ve got someone to blame, right?
Your first question surprises me, especially as you are a South African but it's okay, Isreal is your friend. You don't even know Israel's role in your country and you are talking about people in North Africa. You need some schooling. I won't reply you because I can see your shoddiness.

PoliticsRe: Is This The Greatest Mistake Of Atiku Abubakar's Political Career? by papyjaypaul: 11:59pm On May 04, 2025
papyjaypaul:
Not only him, they are many. But he's no different from Tinubu who should have let someone else run and remain the godfather he claimed to be but godfather sef Wan hustle. They are all hustlers. It's all about their bellies not the nation. Have you forgotten when they revealed Tinubu wanted to be Buhari's vice and he objected because it was Muslim Muslim? Shey they said he is the Guardiola of political talents, he can select like Ferguson and mentor like Zidane. It's all packaged lies, thank God he is now President and we can see him for who he is. Those who knew him from Lagos know they are just packaging lies for national. The same man brought Buhari to us for his selfish ambitions, he and Atiku are not really different, one of them just gbajue pass the other one. Didn't they both work together in the past? Atiku has been on this since 1993, this is 32 years. Is he and Tinubu not telling us that in 30 years, they did not know how to build young people that will lead Nigeria? Atiku worked to destroy PDP from within so that he could get the AC ticket and be president. The only reason he is not in APC today is because Tinubu is there and he can't have his way with him there. Didn't they both have deals for PDP tsunami in 2007? All of them is about me, me, me, me, me. They just want to satisfy that desire to be called president even if age or their health will not allow them to do well. They are selfish and believe they can buy everyone with money. There's no much difference between Atiku and Tinubu, it's just friends in different parties and one of them got what the other wanted badly.

Most of the elders around 80 should be ashamed of themselves.

Edit: I want Atiku to keep staying in PDP. While you may think he is the problem of PDP, he is also a problem to his friend, Tinubu. Tinubu also wants to be sure that his money bag friend won't contest against him in 2027. It is part of eliminating the competition and knowing those who can be bought. It's better not to give in easily until the final moment. APC also wants to see what cards opposition will throw at them, that's why you see them attacking Obi the 3rd more than Atiku the 2nd. Atiku is their customer and he still has a base in the North no matter what you think. Don't make it easy to predict. APC and PDP did not plan for what happened with LP in 2023 within short notice. 24 hrs is a long time in politics. No one knows tomorrow.
papyjaypaul:
Atiku needs to step aside.

What brought the different groups to form PDP in 1998 was rotating power between the North and South. The rotation was what made Atiku gang up against Jonathan in 2015 for breaking the principle, first in 2011. Now they are leaving him. Don't forget that Atiku could not be a vice again so he supported Ribadu and the Gtbank guy against GEJ and they lost. They tried again in 2015, this time with Buhari and they won.

Atiku has lost against Northern and Southern candidates. He should not have contested in 2023, even if he had the right to. He worked with ACN in 2007 and has been flip flopping for his selfish ambition to be President. If we are surprised at Wike's behavior, I think PDP set the standard so low they allowed people like this to control their party and destroy it.

If he thinks his story will be like Buhari, he should remember Buhari first contested with his base in ANPP and CPC so he did not need the party per se but it was the bloc votes Tinubu saw that made them beg him to contest one more time and they found the right time and opportunity. Tinubu's 'win' has given him another false hope. He should read the handwriting on the wall.
