SportsRe: Why Do Americans Call Football 'Soccer'? by papyjaypaul:
I was watching the review of the club world cup and Lineker threw a jab at the Americans. He said, why do we need 26 mins half time? He was hoping that they don't continue with that in football. Then he said, it's because American sports are boring, they need to bring in an entertainment to fill the void 😂

IslamRe: Why Muslims Are Buried Without Coffins by papyjaypaul: 6:15pm On Jul 16, 2025
This is the original from dust to dust because you came to this world without clothes, without a box from your mommy's tummy and if you were lucky, they used one wrapper to cover you during birth, so why do they build a house for you to sleep in aka coffin? Coffin is not an African idea BTW. Only Ancient Egypt mummified and decorated the dead so much, the average African uses palm leaves or anything natural. Coffins are western ideas that the colonialists gave us but you know what's funny, when there's mass burial, you see the truth about coffins. It's a luxury oyinbo man uses from birth to death to find something to make money from.

Tinubu is the most unpopular president in recent times and he wants to do everything to force himself on us.

I would have thought that seeing Yar Adua ( a man he contested against in the 2007 elections) die in office though abroad in a foreign hospital and seeing his body brought home, the President would change our health sector but NO.

I would have thought that seeing his boss Yar Adua die in office, the man who took over (Jonathan) from him would have learned from the doctrine of necessity to revamp our Healthcare but NO.

I would have thought that seeing his wife die abroad, the President then, Mr Obasanjo would have a change in heart to fix our hospitals but NO.

I would have thought that having the opportunity to rule Nigeria for one year before handover, Gen Abdusalami Abubakar would have done something about our healthcare especially since he took over from Abacha who died in office but NO.

I would have thought that Buhari, after illness showed him shege in his first term and he himself said he had never been this ill and he wished he was younger when he took office would have done something significant about the health sector but NO.

Osinbajo almost died in a helicopter crash in February 2019. He survived unharmed. Later in 2022.he went through a leg surgery in Nigeria at Duchess International Hospital in Ikeja, Lagos. What did his minister of health say? We have enough doctors, if you want to leave, you can leave the country. They talked down at us, they abused us, they called the people they were to lead wailers just because of politics, they didn't give a damn but they have no shame to go to another man's country and die there for their body to be brought back home. Have you no shame you lot? They never learn. They can't give what they don't have. Stop blaming God and using religion to bully us, God gave this man signs, he refused to do the right thing. Here we are, repeating the same mistakes from the past, expecting different results. Hiss. How do I tell my grandkids that this is what their country's leaders did? What kind of example do I want to show them? How do I expect them to respect me when I can't show respect?

The agenda must not be to remove Tinubu because you don't like him and you want power. We can all see how that has not done APC any better. The agenda should be we must remove Tinubu and

a) improve Nigeria from where we took it
b) wreck Nigeria and finish it patapata
c) rescue it from where we took over from and take it back to how we tried before 2015

Be clear and very clear on what you want to do.

Africans are not sure what they want yet, whether they want culture or they want religion.

The Christians go to Jerusalem, the Muslims go to Mecca and Medina and are shocked that religion has not taken their culture away but no one wants to talk about this. Slave in mentality and slave in actions.

If you know that you are a Muslim or Christian and your religion does not allow you to do these rituals, please leave the posts alone. Leave it alone. Your religion already condemns it, so have honor and leave it alone.

FACT CHECK: Did Buhari promise not to go abroad for treatment? (updated)

Since Monday when it was announced that President Muhammadu Buhari was going for a medical check-up in London, there have been a lot of controversies. While some argued over the health condition of the president, others revisited some of the promises he made before his emergence in 2015.

The social media was rife with claims that Buhari promised not to go for medical care abroad. A statement in circulation quoted Buhari as making the promise while speaking as a presidential candidate at Chatham House, London, in 2015.

But Femi Adesina, spokesman of the president, was quick to dismiss the rumour, describing it as a new twist on the part of mischief makers.

“The comments are a new dimension in the plot to diminish the stature of President Muhammadu Buhari before millions of Nigerians who love and adore their president. Fortunately, the Chatham House lecture of 2015 is in public domain. The concoction by haters and agents of disunity is not part of the text of the lecture at all,” Adesina had said in a statement issued on Wednesday.

CLAIM: BUHARI SAID AT CHATHAM HOUSE THAT HE WON’T SEEK MEDICAL TREATMENT ABROAD

Buhari was alleged to have asked: ”What is the difference between me and those who elected us to represent them, absolutely nothing. Why should the Nigerian president not fly with other Nigerian public? Why do I need to embark on a foreign trip as a president with a huge crowd with public funds? Why do I need to go for a medical trip abroad if we cannot make our hospital functional?’

During the president’s visit to Chatham House in 2015, there was no discussion around him treating himself in Nigeria or overseas.

The health-related issue was on how Ebola was tackled, and Buhari said: ”I think health is one of the areas that had been allowed in those 16 years we have had to deteriorate. The life, especially in the rural areas is pathetic. And because of lack of basic facilities in the rural areas that aggravate the movement of able-bodied bodies to population centres and that has increased the rate of crime because of lack of jobs, lack of facilities, lack of even basic things to survive; So, I think APC government has done a lot of studies and our manifesto has consciously looked at this.

They now regret their decision and why they let someone like Jandor deceive them 🤡 the decision making mechanism did not come from wisdom but ego and playing God. If they had respect for the people, they would have done the right thing but they want us to look the other way just because they are older.

These our elders are part of the problem.
