OZIOGU1:
Pls is the wife complaining?

Sometimes men are not wicked, they only find themselves in the hand of woman without value.

I am married and i call my wife who is a mother of 4 kids Inya, INYA in my native language means mother, that is the highest honor you can give to your wife, she is actually a mother to all of us in the house...so if the husband call her fairly use mother of 4, she might be okay with it coz that's the standard they operate in their home
This is not respect to women or mothers. He likes to be called baby, what if the kids call him "old man", "Baba", "after 4", "fairly used father of 4"?

If his own mom was called fairly used, will he be happy?

I don't like half stories and commenting on people we don't know on the internet because anyone can say what they feel like. Just yesterday, a NLer was commenting on how men never rejected women that had kids in the past. Today, men are behaving like children.

Onegai:
Back then, a Man who married a woman with children KNEW that all her children were now his responsibility. He didn't insist that their biological father keeps them.

That ensured that children ALWAYS had a father present in their lives. Children need BOTH their fathers and mothers.

A lot of popular families will testify to this, MKO Abiola never refused a child. But it ended up causing problems because people are greedy.

Nowadays men treat single mothers like lepers, punishing them for being responsible and training their kids. Which is why women are now opting to send those kids to their dads (and a stepmother who will never love them). Causing even more problems.
This man is unwise if he thinks a man who likes his fairly used wise needs a mental check. Men or let me write, matured men will go for experienced women most times, including the mother of 4. He is delusional if he thinks she is used. From this guy's comment, there's something from his youth that he has not healed from, let him get it from the younglings.

And that is why Divorce is described as Violence in the Bible: it wrecks havoc on the family and that affects the society at large.

To quote an American commentator: "I ain't never seen a school shooter from a happy home, before".
When Africans say to raise a child, it takes a community to raise one, there is no such thing as "this is my child", we are all the children of the community. Unfortunately, that has died today and I agree with you. What you said MKO Abiola did is common for that generation, whether those he left behind did something else is up to them. For instance, FRA Williams' children kept fighting over the father's estate, even one of them died in their 60s so I have seen in life that there is no guarantee anywhere, just go with the best intentions.

I am not trying to say the past was all clean but there was system in place and that is called culture. Even women who were barren were called mother of A or B. Let's not deceive ourselves, there will be single mothers because men die. Are we saying they must not get married again? Are we saying people in a bad marriage should stay? Our culture knew that there would be divorce but one thing is that we don't abandon children. Nowadays, we abandon children. Single mother is not a curse. Every child should know who their mother and father is.

Regarding the school shooters, just like gangs, these kids lacked parental guidance. However, in one of the school shooting, I can't remember the exact one, even the parents didn't know their son was plotting to shoot and this had nothing to do with lack of parenting.

RomanceRe: Before You Lose Your Virginity, Remember This by papyjaypaul: 9:03pm On Aug 06, 2025
You should be careful who you give your body to, whether you are a man or woman.

You should be careful who you give access to your life, whether you are a man or a woman.

You should be careful who can see you vulnerable, that is, when you are naked, whether you are a man or a woman.

You should treat your body with respect, whether you are a man or woman. Even if everyone is doing it, you can draw your boundaries. What many don't know is that it is more difficult for boys than they think it is. Men can be bullied by others if they know he is a virgin. It takes a disciplined man to stand his ground and not let anyone put pressure on him.

To save yourself from trouble, don't open yourself to the people of this world, they don't know how to keep secrets. Sex is not a bad thing but when you do it under the right conditions, you have no fear. It is something that human beings do but we don't behave like animals showing the world how dogs sleep with themselves outside.

Misery loves company. If you are a virgin, including those who once had sex and say they will not do it again, don't let the world deceive you. Respect your body because the world doesn't care.

I know someone who told his pregnant wife that exact line "maybe I didn't know myself before I got married", before running off to greener pastures and FB babes. He swears he's happy now, living with another woman. Saw him recently and "hmmm" was all I could say.

A lot of people don't know what they truly want till they've lost it.

A lot of men in my family got married not younger than 39-mid 40's. It's been a mixed bag of results. That's why I don't think there's a set age for anything. I had my kids later (one pregnancy was a geriatric one smiley) and I think I'm a better Mum now, not really because I waited.

A lot depends on whom you marry, because the guy I would have married in my early 20's was actually my friend (he still is) compared to whom I ended up with.
I totally agree with you. Life comes with experience, that's why they say it's the best teacher. Even if you see other people, it can never be like you going through it. People are afraid to go through the experience and what they want is on the other side of fear.

Our mamas in the past, some of them married 2-3 times. Back then, unless they tell you, you don't know some women's kids were from different men
Today people are afraid of marriage and divorce but men and women back then walked out if it didn't work out. Today it is taboo. The older I get, the more I love African wisdom. It has more freedom than the foreigners could give us

You don't want to talk about the people's lives you will destroy in the 16-29 before you are ready to settle down shey? You people who talk about maturity to me are capping because your grandparents married early. Go and draw your family tree and find out how old your mama, grandma or great grandma (if you are Gen Z) was when they got married. How old were the husbands? You can't cheat nature. You are a sexual person. If you decide to be celibate, no problem but please don't test different men and women then tell us you want to get married. Once you hit the age of puberty, your body starts changing. Africans knew this and they started training you before you do nonsense but these days we are living in denial.

Marriage was an institution protected by family and society. When you made mistakes, you had older men correcting you. Nowadays, technology has become the next of kin to many of us. When a man had responsibility of taking care of a child in his early 20s, he still has enough energy to hustle and his wife is fertile to have enough kids. All these excuses you all give are in your head. I agree with you that you are wiser in your 40s but there are adults who still behave like kids and there are teenagers who are more mature than some people in their 50s.

Let me tell you, the old school way is still the best. There, they are mentoring you everyday of your life till you are ripe for the rituals of marriage. Today, we think formal education is all you need in life and parents are no longer teaching their children. They are leaving it to technology and western education. Education is not just the books you read, the first education you get is from your home. That's what they call 'well brought up'. Once you have home training, the rest will fall into place. We all go back to Maslow's theory that the basic things we need is food, clothes and shelter. All the rest is jara.

And Onanuga came in to do the work Ajuri was doing perfectly well. I am not a fan of Tinubu but they should have left Ajuri in that post, no, they went for politics. Just like Buhari having 3 spokesmen, Tinubu went for Bwala, Onanuga and the rest. They are more interested in politics. Only Ajuri displayed maturity in being the spokesperson for the President, he's the one who understood the brief in recent times and could win more people to the President's side. In a few years, she will be 29 and you will be 40, do you want to be with the woman who will make the saying, a fool at 40 is a fool forever true?

By the time you are wise and she is 40 and you are 51, do you want to look back and be proud of your decision 22 years ago? When your children are already teenagers or leaving your house?

If you see ripe fruit, pluck am, no waste time. The family system is dying and parents are no longer training good children for marriage anymore. It's the internet that is raising kids these days, they will waste your life arguing with you about what is right and wrong because their parents did not teach them how to be husbands/men or wives/mothers/women.

Before the world contaminates this woman, groom her as the bridegroom and you won't regret it. Let me tell you one more thing, once she works with you or for you, she will have no problem with you, it will give you time to build more because she is a trusted manager. Trust is the most expensive currency in business. But I must warn you, they also say don't mix business with pleasure. Remember that once you get married, you have to change the way you deal with her, she's not your worker, she's your colleague, she's your wife. She will get pregnant, she will change, make sure you groom your wife and she will flourish.

Don't worry about what society thinks, it's all in your head. I often refer to Omotola Jalade who got married young and the age gap is like your own. People only look for bad examples to scare you but remain focused on your vision. The best time for women to have kids is in their late teens and early 20s, Africans have embraced western lifestyle to their own detriment and now we are having the same problems as them, such as fertility problems. Our parents and grandparents married very early, some of them failed and married someone else, some of them were successful. Education should not be an excuse to get married, don't let her waste her virtuousness when she can get education online. Moreover, all the education we are doing today is either to work for someone or be our own boss. She already has real life experience working with you. Let her enroll in courses that will make her sharp and your business will flourish. He is a lucky man who finds a good wife.

Obi may do it, he may not do it. I don't really care. Right now, he has said he will do it, when he gets there, if he will do it is yet to be seen but I don care about the politicians, am I stating facts or fiction? Did Mandela say he will do 1 term or nothuh

On 7 July 1996, in a television broadcast President Nelson Mandela confirmed the rumours that he would not stand for re-election in 1999.

This is in accordance to what he had initially said when he was sworn in as the country's first democratic president in 1994. The South African constitution has a stipulation that states that the president can only serve for two terms as the head of state. Mandela felt one term was enough as he had already laid the foundation for a better future for all. Mandela did not publicly chose his successor. This may have been due to the fierce competition between Thabo Mbeki and Cyril Ramaphosa, who were both favourites for the position. Most commentators hold the view that a behind the scenes endorsement by Nelson Mandela and some old guards of the African National Congress (ANC) swung things in Mbeki's favour. Mbeki was ultimately elected ANC president in 1997, thus putting him in line for the country's presidency ahead of Ramaphosa

He just did, talk and do.
"Mandela, 92, said he would have preferred to serve the new South African state without holding any position in the ANC or government.

After being put on the carpet by one of the ANC's leaders, he changed his mind, but made clear that he would serve only one five-year term."

Anyways, it's the live he has chosen to live........
wink thank you for having a mature discussion, something that is rare on NL.

Do you know that when I was responding to you yesterday, I remembered two things?

1, Some people say it's better to have an absent father than a father who is around but not there. That is, a father who can be around the house, he is present and available but he is so busy with himself, playing with his toys and being the big baby boy in the house that he is next to useless

2, Naval staff or military service personnel who leave their families for a long time, before technology used to keep up with their families. They would write letters and the mother will tell them what is going on. Of course, back then, a single income household could provide for all the needs. Some people have the opinion that women in the work force is not because government wanted their liberation, they want more people to tax instead of 1 adult. Some people can take care of the house with 1 person being present and the other person goes out to find food and some people need 2 or more.

Parenting is not easy. I really can't tell how this guy lives his life but some men are very good at choosing the families they want to build. Who knows? He may be paying the extended family to take care of some things when he is away. We now have telephones and better communication. He has enough money to do things as he would wish but I just don't like narrow arguments because people don't like certain lifestyles that don't affect them. There are rich people in singular nuclear families who have nannies and help but they are never there for their children. It's the drivers and domestic staff who bring these kids up. How many years does a child spend with you before they grow up? Let people do what works for them 😊

It makes men lazy and women don't like a man they can't look up to. Once a woman starts to solve a man's problem for him, a switch in his brain goes off and he relaxes. He doesn't provide anymore. This is why women who already have money find it difficult to 'submit' to a man except and unless the man himself is doing better than her and she will submit to master.

CelebritiesRe: American Rapper NBA Youngboy Expecting 14th Child At Age Of 25 by papyjaypaul:

I have always maintained that family planning should be centered around the male gender. No way a woman can have 14 children at 24 years of age. A woman can only get pregnant at most once a year, while a man, God bless his soul, can impregnate 10 women on a single day.
This is not a good way to live...the children need attention, money don't solve all issues.
I can put it to you that children don't need that much attention from a man as they will need from their mom. It has been proven that even if a man becomes a stay at home dad, his children won't be as encouraged as children who see their dads go out there to provide and win for them. Of course, tech bros (they can work from anywhere) are around but men don't need that amount of time with the kid as women do. What the father needs to do is provide, spend quality time and be a good example for the family with his actions. This is why women are home makers and men select those who make homes. Have you asked yourself why a woman who spends 12+ hrs with a child will shout and scream at him to do something and when the dad comes, only one eye message will send the same thing to the child the woman has been screaming her lungs out forhuh That's what is called men's presence. Men's presence is not 24/7 availability, it's their ability to put structure in place and maintain it whether they are there or not. There are certain things men can see that women cannot but women are better nurturers than men. There are roles God gave men and gave women. We play different roles which makes us complement each other. When men were fighting wars in the past and leaving their families for years, were they useless men? Did the family break? He is a good man who sees good women, chooses them and builds with them. Men and women will never be the same. It's these recent woke ideologies that are trying to tame men and make them more feminine while women abandon their feminine nature of care and nurture to hustle out of the house and be slaves to the corporate merchants. Now, women are the breadwinners and men are the butter and we still want women to show their feminine side?

Again, no romance without finance but I can put it to you that while money is not everything, children don't like a dad who is present for them but absent in finance. He should only not just do too much finance at the expense of his romance and family but I am very certain children don't gain much from seeing their father every time at home as they will if it were the mom.

Edit: when a woman is working and she has kids, even if her workplace gives her the best daycare and baby care, she still feels guilty for not being there for her kids. This is not about men, she can be jealous if her maid is closer to the kid than her, so if that kind of woman has a man who is a stay at home, she will despise him for no fault of his. This is biology at work. A man can give birth to children and abandon them for a long time and come back to connect with the children. This is what they call a deadbeat dad who abandoned his family. If a woman does the same thing, she is not seen as a woman and she will keep feeling guilt because women are not built that way. This is why women are now choosing to work and close their laps because they don't want the trouble of deadbeat and the stress of children when they are pursuing careers. We are now at a stage where women think they can afford to have a baby without the dad and this is the beginning of the destruction of the family unit. Money can solve the problem and they can mould a child alone. If this man can provide for his family and be present when there is the need, set his family up and have his women as allies, all of you are just projecting your fears and inadequacies on this person. As some people have said, Elon is not always there for his baby mamas but we can forgive him because he's building starlink and saving the world shey?

Parenting is what is absent, whether a single parent, two parent or even grandparents. Let parents do their jobs and let the community raise the children, you won't have this problem. It's a misconception to think that many children are the problem. Whether it's 1 child or 20, the most important thing is to train the child in the way of the Lord so they don't depart into nonsense. Africans are the ones who will be projecting rubbish stories on themselves. Please save me some victimhood mentality and take responsibility for what you have. It's only reasonable for him to spend 5 years as president..... Now since you want to compare obi to Lincoln and Mandela.... Mandela and Lincoln name didn't keep government money in a bank in which they owned shares.... grin Peter Nelson obi Mandela grin
What's all the explanation for? You said Lincoln was assassinated and I said Mandela wasn't. So why cherry pick? Or is it because I didn't write it in full that Mandela, despite all you wrote here had the dignity to not die abroad or seek treatment abroad? We currently have Presidents who are not ashamed to open their bodies abroad and die in foreign countries, whether as Presidents or ex.

Mandela, 92, said he would have preferred to serve the new South African state without holding any position in the ANC or government.
After being put on the carpet by one of the ANC's leaders, he changed his mind, but made clear that he would serve only one five-year term.
