The daughters are not comfortable with it. Was it not an igbo daughter that took the case to court? If she was comfortable, why did she take the case to court? Blackmann001: ..if the justice system is looking for societal fair treatment ,it shld go to the north and change all the stupid laws which are very barbaric....13year old gals are forcefully married off, cutting of peoples hands and heads are called tradition just for verbal abuse, women are restricted from so many rights including education but no one is saying anything.... If its to Jim on the Igbo's they would know he to do dt one.....
After all, the igbo are living with their tradition rules peacefully and daughter are even very comfortable with it..

I know someone who is also a victim of this. He and his brother were kids at the time of passing of their dad so their uncles took everything away from them. They are grown now and hope to fight them in court. jericco1: It is long overdue oo that was how my dad's inheritance were shared amongst his brothers leaving nothing for his children, simply because the eldest was a female. |

Supreme court cannot just scrap Sharia law. Cases are handled on individual basis. Anybody wrongfully sentenced to death by Sharia law can take the case to the SC and that judgement will definitely be overturned. kponkedenge: Why can't the Supreme Court do something about the Sharia law being practiced in some Northern states? |

I really can't believe such repugnant culture is being practiced by igbos. I'm urhobo and even in my father's house I have inheritance. Infact, every woman from my tribe has inheritance and there is no superiority of gender. My grandfather just passed last month and before his demise he shared land to his male and female children alike. This issue of inheritance has really caused problem in igbo families. Brothers and uncles dragging property from widows and leaving them in penury. It is well. propsvilla3: You don't get it, properties in my father's house belongs to my Sons but every other properties or investment outside my home soil will be shared among all my Children. That is the right way to balance Cutlure. |

Trash.... How does the nonsense you posted prove that humans came from fish? Or that a bird can evolve completely to become a dog? How could any human have witnessed the bolded when there were no other humans and the only human (Adam) was deep asleep when the incident occurred? Don't you think? Sodom and Gomorrah as depicted in the Bible has been found with sulfur everyone just as the Bible said. Go there and see it for yourself doubting Thomas. How possible if that such place exists and 100% matches biblical descriptions...or you'd call that a mere coincidence? LMAO.. At the depths of the red Sea, the chariots of the king pharoah's men have been unearthed and also dates back to the exact period in history as stated in the Bible...that is a coincidence too? Farki : https://www.who.int/news-room/fact-sheets/detail/antimicrobial-resistancehttps://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Peppered_mothhttps://www.britannica.com/science/fossil-record[b] No single human saw Yahweh remove Adam's rib and create Eve but you still believe. No human knows where the garden of Eden is or if it even existed yet you still believe. Why didn't Africa evolve when there was no religion? America is the country with the most number of Christians in the world but. It is by far the most powerful nation on earth and if America sneezes the entire world would feel the impact. It was founded on Christian laws, infact the democracy you practice today derived from judeo-christian doctrines so please tell me how is it that most of the wealthiest nations in the world are Christian and also how most of the countries in the world that value human life are Christian...? Flairoqy: After the cognitive revolution, the discovery of ignorance evolved stone age to nanotechnology, if the aryan race (White supremacy) had believed that there were no answers to unimportant questions like "why do we die & how do we live forever " as religion says death is the purpose of life to experience afterlife, we would have all died from one illness or the other long time ago due to no medicine. Bottom line is AFRICA will never evolve until religion is abolished. |

When that same spider Man book also has hundreds of prophecies that have been fufilled and are still being fufilled 2,000 years later and also contains knowledge of things which absolutely no man knew and even needed modern technology to prove like the Bible does then yes that spider Man book will become factual and validated. Please when and where have we insulted science? Us Christians are not like Muslims that say the Earth is flat. That said, you should know that science validates Christianity, not the opposite. We believe that God has bestowed knowledge upon man to be able to reveal certain things and make certain discoveries. Know the difference between science and pseudoscience. Evolution (macro) for example is pseudoscience as it has absolutely no basis nor facts backing its claims. Ask yourself which is more believable? To say that the big bang happened millions years ago (non-life giving rise to life which is unscientific) or actually unearthing relics to show that an ancient palace existed ( which is in line with not only religious text but lots of historical texts as well). Farki: Religious people won't insult science in this thread |

If anything science validates the Bible rather than invalidate it. Most Christians and Christianity in general is not against science. Not pseudoscience that masquerades fiction as facts though. michlins: The same people who questioned the validity of science that predicted the game of fossils of different animals will jump on this and rejoice.
