Deexa01: I also noticed the same thing in the email sent to me. I think it is better to hold on since the scholarship covers accommodation expenses and we are not supposed to pay for it if we get the scholarship. Your point seems valid |

I noticed that in the email confirming submission of application, it's advised to apply for housing even before getting an offer since the housing is competitive. Do we (MCF applicants) need to apply? There is a $50 application fee. |

phillipa92: So I am a little confused with the whole fee waiver issue for MasterCard scholarship applicants at UBC.
From what it seems, as I’ve seen this issue happening to other applicants too, the application fee wasn’t waived via the link they shared with me. And I just found out about this today. Considering their MCF office takes a hot minute to respond, and it’s now holiday season, I feel compelled to pay the application fee so as my references can have ample time to submit their part(s).
I’m just wondering whether paying the application fee would in one way or another put a red flag to my application considering this scholarship is oriented towards the economically disadvantaged — of which I am. Any advice is greatly appreciated. Did you indicate your interest in the fee waiver? |

Xtretchy: Evening bro. I also applied last year and didn't get any reply until the year ended. Please I'll be glad if we could connect. Thanks
And also, what does AD and AL mean? AD--->Admission Letter AD--->Appointment Date (interview at the embassy) |
Travel › Re: General-german-student-visa-enquiries Part 8 by Pato5(m): 8:13pm On May 22, 2020 |
Mikeval001: To be honest you will need lot of prayers, believe and patient because it's not easy to get appointment date from the embassy especially on category B.
I was on this journey last year,I got admission in May 2019 for September intake and I applied for appointment unfortunately appointment didn't show till the year ended. I was said and worried and funny thing was that at the time I didn't know much about Nairaland mainly because I have three friends studying in Germany so they were helpful with guidelines but i forgot to put into consideration that a lot has changed since they left Nigeria in terms of appointment date and other things. I funded my block account with Fintiba last year June, when I couldn't get appointment date for September my school decided to defer my admission to March 2020 then I rebook another appointment but still I couldn't get appointment date for category B for March, I could remember vividly that even people on category A then couldn't get appointment date except for people on category A with scholarship, to be honest I gave up and I started working on how to get my money back from Fintiba and to the glory of God I got it back three weeks ago.
Now I'm processing another country but I've learnt and know a lot about Germany so I come here once in a while to give advice and answer questions to the best of my knowledge. This life sef. A friend of mine told me this same thing (his experience last year) early this year (Jan) when I was still applying. I rushed to book the appointment that January only to get AD for Mar 17. I had no admission then so I ditched the appointment. I have applied again last week after getting AL. I hope I will be lucky again. |

Ayohbk: Secondly, Language
I dont even know where to start with this. When I was in 9ja, I only did A1 class and I was following it up with online classes and apps. For class for 9ja, my head dey always dey swell sey I don know german finish. Even people for class dey envy me sef. When I got here, my school offers German classes which will be part of your credit units. So I joined A1 for easy 1.0 . Even for my german class here, I get mouth to shine small.
But to communicate with people outside na him be war. If they start speaking like this, e go be like so dem dey slap you as dem dey talk. You'll be both confused and lost. I try to pick up the verbs to try and understand what they are saying. But unlike English, German verbs can be placed at the end of the sentence or middle. So before you understand one sentence, dem don talk another, so you're like 200 steps behind. The annoying thing is they talk so fast which is very frustrating. I did my A1. 2, not much improvement, I felt I learnt more in Nigeria sef. Though my A1.2 was mostly held online because of coronavirus which made it more frustrating. I got into the A2. 1 class but I dropped out because it's been held online. It is probably the most frustrating way to learn that boring language. I hope to learn it soon though because it opens ways Dude you are creative with narration. I'm just laughing here. Nice one bro. |

Osyxcel: Using the three circles we know the answer, we can deduce the following sequence.
Circle 2 (right) = 2 x (5 - 3) = 4 Circle 3 (left) = 6 - (9 - 4) = 1 Circle 4 (right) = 3 x (5 - 4) = 3
You can see that the circles on the right follow the same sequence, hence, the ones on the left should follow the same sequence too. Therefore:
Circle 1 (left) = 4 - (6 - 3) = 1
That's what I think should be the answer. I may be right or wrong. In quantity logic like this, the same rule apply to all if the rule is correct. |

Chrbhny: Well the bank hasn't giving me an offer letter yet, so I'm not yet a staff, but a trainee. You will be given at the end of the training... My point not quit yet till 2wks to your resumption at the new firm. |

Chrbhny: Good day everyone.
During these trying time when it seems the worst is on us, I wish everyone good health and endurance.I hope everyone comes out strong, healthy and ready for a wonderful future.
I need your advice.
I'm a recent graduate and an engineer. I started a bank's training school which is to end this month and we are paid allowances each month, a good sum by the way. However I just got a new engineering job and a better pay which is to start June. I have accepted the job offer and signed all relevant documents.
I don't want to quit the training school untill it is over, the reason being that the allowance is important for my survival and I am also enjoying the training school.
do you think it is right for me to stay till the end of the training school, receive the allowance then quit the job, or should I quit now and forfeit the allowance of the training school?
All advice is welcomed. Thanks Continue with the TS and keep getting your allowances, give them a 2 weeks notice just before you resume the new job. Anything can happen so don't put your hope on the job. I believe your offer letter states you should give a 1 month/2wks notice before resignation. |

gbolly1151: This is actually what i think about this morning.... Seeing this coming again really means a lot to me thanks...if every first class graduate we have in this country can create job,it should be able to absorb huge unemployed and serious youth then the rate of unemployment can reduce.
In real sense, govt can't do everything for us. Most depend on govt work in which govt themselves aren't creating, except to sell out to private individuals Creating jobs is beyond having good academic grades. Even those with poor grades end up owning businesses that employs graduates of good grades. What matters is your ability to identify gaps and problems and solving them with whatever resources you have at your disposal |
