That's Araujo's man who scored. He faked an injury to delay time and when he was allowed in, he delayed to get back in position. |

With the amount of injuries to Madrid we should be ending the tie In the first leg. Glad am not Pep because Doku, Marmoush, Cherki, Semenyo and even Savinho all deserve to start tomorrow. I will go with Doku to terrorise Trent, Haaland/Marmoush and Semenyo. I will drop dias for the pace of Khush. We have a full squad to pick from for the first time this season even Kovacic is back in training. Quadruple race is on Is Gvardiol fit? |

🚩 Man City’s next seven games:
🇪🇸 Real Madrid (A) 🏴 West Ham (A) 🇪🇸 Real Madrid (H) 🏴 Arsenal (N) 🏴 Liverpool (H) 🏴 Chelsea (A) 🏴 Arsenal (H) I don't think Madrid will trouble them so much. The difficult games there are the games against Chelsea and Arsenal. |

In this context, 'wound' refers to the loss of his family members, not a physical injury to himself.
When I see the reactions from most people here, I wonder if you actually do any research to verify the information or to gain a deeper understanding of what you see online. If a foreigner visits Nairaland, their view of Nigerians might become negative. You all should improve your responses. |

AirBere: No I'm not trying to be mischievous and I wasn't doing a direct comparison. Okay let's use Westham with Summerville and Bowen on both wings to drive home the point. Rashford Will have more joy playing Westham than Getafe.
I think Vini is a good dribbler. We saw this same Rashford in the EPL in the last 2 seasons. That says it all...Rashford has since given up, it has nothing to do with the quality of the league. Put Rashford in the German Bundesliga and he will still struggle. He will score and assist but watching him, you'll be frustrated for the most part. |
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Fc Barcelona Fan Thread: "més Que Un Club" by patrickmuf(m): 12:38pm On Mar 08 |
Kilishihunter: The EPL is like the super league that's why our haters (mostly Chelsea fans) are still hoping Newcastle knock us out despite their injuries and poor form. There might be less space truly but lamine was marked well last night. That's why Rashford is also criticized cause of tight marking. Lamine didn't really have a great game asides the golazo. It's just that if you are a crazily talented player it will still be shown at some point Rashford has since lost his confidence. There are countless times in a game when Rashford is 1 vs 1 vs a RB but he doesn't even try to go past his marker and when he tries, in most cases he fails. Watching Barcelona, Rashford frustrates me. |
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Fc Barcelona Fan Thread: "més Que Un Club" by patrickmuf(m): 12:29pm On Mar 08 |
AirBere: I watch both leagues too. A game between Man United and Newcastle will have both Barnes and Elanga flying on both wings. A game between Barca and Getafe or Osasuna will have at least 8 players behind the ball. There's no way a player of Rashord's ability will do well against such set up.
See how Getafe frustrated Vini in their last home game and Vini is a beast dribbler. Vinnie will be even more dangerous and will score more goals if he joins a PL side.
Check out Isak's goal return in Laliga and compare it to his PL returns. PL players want to play on the front foot. Laliga teams just wanna frustrate. It what makes the league boring. That you are comparing Getafe to Newcastle to drive home your point tells me that you're not being sincere. Newcastle is best compared to Bilbao. Now, did you watch Man City vs Forest? Vini is not a good dribbler, he has pace and some trickery and that's it. And if you want to have a go about goal return of specific players to judge a league then I must say you should do a little research. They're players who struggle in one league and do well in another, it has little to do with the quality of the league especially when you're talking about the top leagues. Sometimes, it could be that the quality of teammates is better or the setup of the team is best suited for the players. Other times, it could be that the player is more settled in the city and has the trust of the coach. |

AirBere: I agree. The emboldened is spot on!!!
Compare to Laliga, space dey EPL small. This doesn't mean Laliga is better than EPL. EPL is the best league in world football.
There are more quality players in EPL meaning those players will love to express themselves a bit by attacking leaving some space. In Laliga, most teams play with a line of 5, 6 or a very rigid 4:5:1 system. Teams like Osasuna, Getafe, Mallorca are not even interested in coming out to play. Even this Bilbao used to be very gidigbo. I watch a lot of both leagues. For me, there's less time for players to stop and think in the EPL compared to La Liga. I don't have that players have much more space in the EPL but then, it's fine if you say so. |

Kimbeast: This season is soo funny. We are in March and yet no standout Balon dor contenders or even PFA player of the season. When Messi lights up the World Cup and he wins it, people will start complaining. I think Harry Kane and Mbappe stand a chance if Bayern or Madrid wins the UCL and their respective NTs go ahead to perform very well in the World Cup. |
European Football (EPL, UEFA, La Liga) › Re: Fc Barcelona Fan Thread: "més Que Un Club" by patrickmuf(m): 10:02am On Mar 08 |
AirBere: Rashford is not Laliga coded. I predicted his Laliga struggle even before he was officially signed. The stats are okay but he'll keep failing the eye test because he needs space to operate. He fits EPL, Bundesliga and UCL. He's your UCL wildcard.
Even for free I'll not want him in my team. He's Sancho with more speed and shot power. He's a waste of space because his salary will always be astronomical to what he'll offer on the pitch. Rashy can't dribble a cone. Lazy uncoachable English players. Sancho 🤝 Rashford. Where is the space to operate in the EPL? Go to the Manchester United thread from 3-4 years ago, and you'll find Manchester United fans complaining about the things Barcelona fans are experiencing now. Imagine if Rashford could beat his man how dangerous Barcelona could be. |
