I remember when you guys used to say Messi played with better players than Ronaldo at Barcelona and in their respective national teams.

After Ronaldo won the Euros with Portugal, it was even worse; some of his fans bragged that he could do it alone with 10 average players behind him, while others believed that he would rule the world if he had a quality support cast.

Fast forward a few years, and all those assumptions have been put to the test. Portugal has the better team, yet Messi has gone ahead to achieve more. Ronaldo sacrificed his footballing abilities for goals because he believed that stats were everything in the modern game. Still, Messi competed with him yet did not have to redefine his game. They'll finish their respective careers with Messi having a superior goal-to-game ratio. It is even worse when you consider assists and other aspects of the game.

Now, I look at Mbappe and wonder how effective he will be without his speed. Kane has already started thinking long-term because he plays more with his head than with physical abilities.

Spot on! And Cubarsi, for me, is lightweight in that central defense. He would be easily bodied by Lautaro or Alvarez
Messi will have more success through the middle against Rodri and Ruiz because they aren’t as quick as Rice and Anderson. The threat of Messi also influences teams’ strategies; I haven’t seen a team yet that hasn’t adjusted their game plan to contain him. When he has the ball, he draws 2-3 defenders, and at least 2 more when he doesn't have it.

It will be interesting to see how Spain sets out to stop him.

This World Cup is for Argentina. He destroyed Ronaldo, and now, it's time to shit on Mbappe, Haaland and Co....

They must admit that he is the Greatest of All Time...

Who do you think will win Midfield battle between Spain and Argentina
Spain will control large swaths of the game, but Argentina will choose their moments, and it will be decisive...

Argentina have varied their play so much so that they can score from any sequence of play, whether it's a quick exchange of passes or a cross or a goalmouth scramble. They have the tools to hurt Spain from defense to attack.

After watching France vs Spain, Tuchel came into the game with more or less a front 4 because Bellingham completely abandoned his midfield duties, forcing Kane to drop back. There was simply no way Rice and Anderson could've held it up against Paredes, McAllister and Enzo. It is even worse when you factor in Messi.

Tuchel should have moved to close down the spaces in the midfield and opted for more control by shunting Bellingham out wide, bringing in Mainoo for Rodgers.

Spain should not underestimate Argentina else they'll regret it. Their midfielders are not quite as fast so Messi will definitely trouble them through the middle.

Patrickmuf, you know ball. He predicted Argentina vs Spain when France was the hottest thing in town.

All Mbape and Penduist supporters. You guys should unite and support France for Bronze.

Tears everywhere 😢 😭 💔
Midfield na football. I knew Spain had the tools to deprive the rampant French attack of the ball.

As for England, they have been struggling to dominate teams with players who are not as good as those Argentina parades. I was so sure they'd struggle to control the game because Argentina always choke the midfield, and then there's the Messi factor.

Argentina sabi use the entire width of the pitch. Gonzalez and Montiel helped stretch the play, forcing England to open up.

We want to see an entertaining final, not one where one of the teams will park a double-decker bus for 90 mins...
