He is a world class cb
He dey try, but he has room for improvement before he can be classed as world-class. Too many average players around, so the word world-class is thrown around easily.

About Portugal...

I think it was a mix of poor coaching and a clash of playing styles. Neves and Vitinha are central midfielders who like to control the game’s flow, build up play slowly, and wait for the perfect moment to advance.

Bruno, on the other hand, is the player who prefers attacking at pace; he loves getting the ball to his feet to find his attackers, but with Neves and Vitinha, he never got that. Instead of playing his game, he adapted to the strengths of the two PSG midfield maestros.

Ronaldo, too, was an issue; he lacked the stamina to keep two center backs busy, which was worsened by the Portuguese coach always choosing wingers who preferred hugging the line instead of inverting to support Ronaldo and give the full-backs space to push forward.

All Martinez as the coach needed to do was decide which of his star players should lead the team on the pitch and then force the rest to play to that player's strengths. I saw an interview where Pochettino said that at PSG, he faced the same problem with Mbappe, who wanted the team to play to his pace, while Messi and Neymar favored a more controlled approach defined by a slow build and possession-focused play.

In the past, we saw France play to Zidane’s strength, even though they had Henry, who was at his devastating best at the time.

Martinez allowed the egos and talent at his disposal to reign supreme and unchecked, which ultimately hurt the team.

Nah, this isn't really an upset. You can say Brazil were considered favorite but this isnt an upset in my opinion.

An upset is Cape Verde knocking out Argentina.

Only because you actually rate this Brazil team

I consider them one of the weaker teams. This result is very normal to me and expected
Ibime, this is a shocker. You don't need to rate Brazil highly to know this is an upset.

How did the conversation go from Paraguay to Argentina?

I can't even blame Paraguay for their actions. If the coach of Paraguay had been Mourinho or Simeone, they'd likely be praised for organizing their team to shut down all of France's attacking threats. Did we really expect Paraguay to play like prime Barca against France and get beaten unfairly? It's tournament football; I can't fault any team for doing whatever it takes to win. After all, we now have VAR, so if the referee and VAR don't do their jobs, players shouldn't suffer because of the officials' incompetence.

I was told here by Einsteins that he will never make it in the Premier League.

Carragher did a whole session on MNF for 30 minutes, lying to his minions that Lisandro isn’t fit for the rigors of the Premier League.

Carragher has since apologized for his ignorance. cheesy

First time the U.S. is beating a European or South American team in a WC knockout match.

This is also Team USA’s first win over a European team since 2021..

I still believe Trump has enough pull to get Balogun’s red card either rescinded, or have his suspension take effect after the World Cup 😁
Like Ronaldo abi? 😂😂😂

This is exactly what I wrote on another platform. The Senegalese thought they were already in the round of 16 and so didn't need to score more.

Belgium has some individuals who can change the game at any time. Senegal should try to score another goal before Lukaku is introduced.
