BlueAngel444: na this thing conte talk, fans go turn good managers after match don finish. You no see the rubbish England still played after they reverted back to 4-3-3 with your opinion of walker and shaw as full backs
What did Saka offer?
Why didn’t Italy change formation? Southgate no sabi.
Illimitable: Ole and Southgate are twins separated at birth.
The same idiötic tactics Ole deployed in the Europa final was what Southgate did. Southgate waited too long to unleash his subs at normal time to wrestle the game away from Italy.
He waited until the last minute of the extra time phase to bring on Rashford and Sancho(saved them for the shootout). If he had unleashed the duo on the Italian defence that was tiring and carrying few yellow cards, England could have won in normal time.
Southgate and Ole are indeed poor, Chiellini and Bonucci are not the fastest of CBs around even when they were much younger talk less of now yet he stuck with Kane up front when he should have removed Mount, for Rashford with Kane playing as the AMF where his creativity will be better utilized and Rashford up front to use his pace to work on Bonucci and Chiellini thus creating space for Kane. Another smart change would have seen Trippier replace by Sancho and not Saka...Saka is not direct, he rather wants the ball played to feet where he looks to combine with those around him compared to Sancho who will run at his marker...
England have been lucky, I am happy they didn't win if not, an Ole fanboy who also supports Southgate would have been here calling out people for dropping their opinion of Southgate...
Immobile isn't fast, why play Walker as part of a back 3?
Walker and Shaw are more than good enough to handle Insigne and Chiesa, they're not poor defensively to warrant such a shake up. If they layed against France with Mbappe in attack, I'd understand...
You only have to watch Italy vs Spain to see how much that poor Spain team dominated the Italian midfield that looks so good against England tonight to know how much these English players are overrated. Imagine if they squared up against the Spaniards...
Panther7: If UCL is the standard Ronaldo has won more then
I made reference to the UCL in response to Doc.
I have clearly stated that my reason for saying Messi is the greatest is that he is a fantastic playmaker, dribbler and scorer...Is Ronaldo better in any of the aforementioned criteria?
96forever: imagine comparing this to dribbling and scoring Pk’s against the mighty Eibar and Elche lololololololololololol
If I ask you to show me Messi goals scoring stats against LA Liga teams, you'll disappear like the fart........So, sit this one out, when we are done you can come on stage to troll...
Pele was fantastic at all he did too and he maintained it at the World Cup on multiple occasions. Something Messi has not done.
You can't be on a similar level with someone and that person has 3 World Cup victories to your ZERO and you claim you are greater. E no enter.
If we are comparing Messi to Totti or another obviously inferior player it would be different but we are comparing him to players on his general level. It can't be 3-0 at World Cup and you are claiming greater.
The world cup is rated for the emotions it generates amongst fans but the UCL is the standard right now and Messi has won more than a fair share...
Watching that clip, the defending back then was comical, Pele was a good dribble but Messi is better.
If we are to rate them based on goal scoring, dribbling and play making, I think the score will be 2 vs 1 in favor of Messi...
afrodoc2: Pele was a slightly better scorer (especially at the highest levels), Messi was a slightly better dribbler (especially with the smooth pitches we have these days), Pele was far better at the highest level of football (the World Cup) and he scored more, assisted more and won more than Messi at this highest level of football.
Let Messi try to dribble people on such terrible surfaces.
Is the world cup really the highest level of football right now? I think not...However, it was in Pele's time.
Whilst Pele is arguably a slightly better scorer, Messi beats him in dribbling and play making in general...
Talking about the pitch, we can also agree that the standard of football and quality of players have improved overtime thanks to the role of science in sports...Whilst we may not be able to say how will perform had they been born in either generation, one thing is certain, we can at least assess their overall game play in their respective eras. Pele in his time was a fantastic goal scorer with good dribbling skills and good playmaking added to it...
Messi as we have seen over the years is fantastic at all he does and I think that's where he edges it.
For me, Messi is the G.O.A.T. He combines perfectly the qualities of all the other contenders for the G.O.A.T. crown and isn't lacking in any...He can score as well and as much as Pele and CR7, he dribbles with pace and mastery of the ball so much so if not better than Maradona, Garrincha and R9, he is as good a player maker like any other in history...
His vision and technical ability is right up there...It goes way beyond winning the world cup which can be influenced by many variables. For instance, this Argentine team is not the most talented in recent times but there are the once to deliver on the big stage. In Scaloni, they found a pragmatist whose style of play is in sync with the players at his disposal, they can play when they want, they can roughen things up if it demands...
I think away from trophies, a players ability to play football at a level that is unmatched should be the determining factor when discussing who is the greatest...And for me, I haven't seen anyone who is as complete a footballer as Messi, he dribbles, scores and creates chances like no other in the history of the beautiful game. If you think otherwise, I'll wait for you to point at someone who did it better...
BlueRayDick: Now here's the problem ; you didn't get the full gist about Femi's proposal neither did u get the full gist about why the governors rejected it, but yet u are stanning it. If u must must know, Femi's proposal is a foolish one that isn't in line with modern dictates.
Femi is suggesting that governors make available lands within their states to be used by herders as ranches .....:the governors knowing they aren't obliged to provide such lands for privayr owned businesses turned the proposal down, they believe if farmers can buy lands and cultivate their crops why can't herders do same.
If u don't know, there are farm settlements in places like Epe, Imota and other areas in Lagos where people buy vast amount of lands to cultivate.( I know this because my boss in the office operates a farm in one of such places)
Now tell me what is tribalistic in telling people to run their private businesses in line with modern best practices?
It's not Femi that proposed it rather I think it's from the ministry of Agric or thereabout...
I don't support the proposal though, there's enough land in just about every state, if you want to ranch, lease a piece of land and do your ranching. It's counterproductive to ask states to provide land for ranching as that will mean a certain segment of the country are treated better than others...
