There are so many unethical practices within the Nigeria legal system by solicitors, advocates and judges all in the name of client defence. The job of these people is not to help a client to avert justice but to achieve justice.

Nowhere was he telling them not to defend corrupt individual who are innocent until proven guilty but rather not to help them unethical or illegally to avade justice even when their clients has confessed their guilt to them.
Nowhere in the world is a lawyers job includes helping a client to commit perjury, conceal evidence and other unethical practices that seem normal in Nigeria legal system to the ordinary lay person.

Based on some the comments here, it shows how uninformed and ignorant most Nigerians are with regards to a lawyers required legal responsibility to a client. And there is a line never to be crossed in the name of defence.
