Romance / How Little Kerosene Spoilt My Day by patriotsam: 8:44pm On Sep 04, 2018
Today is really a bad day for me. All through last week, I no chop better food, it's either fast food or food with gino pepper onion as stew, but today I decided to enjoy the life of my head. So yesterday I went to market to get everything needed to make a mouth watering soup, wanna even prepare it that yesterday self but I was so tired from the stress of walking about in market, so i decided to cook it when i get back from school this evening but the joy of how the soup will be the best soup I've ever cooked make me postpone my lecture to afternoon.

After finishing cooking rice and beans, so i started with this my soup and everything was going perfectly not until i decided to add little cooking oil not knowing it was kerosene i picked and small amount of kerosene spill on it before i discovered, not up to 2 tablespoon. I was down immediately, was just trying to console myself the little kerosene wont have effect on it.

I dont know kerosene is that annoying, it spoilt the soup for me completely, all the meats and the eggs, and this the first time I'll spend such amount on soup. The soup just made my tongue to feel somehow, though I ate the food like that without enjoying it but it's just so hard for me to pour the soup away.

It's after I've finished eating that I started googling if little kerosene intake can kill but google no gimme the answer I want, e just dey gimme some scary answer that made my body to start reacting like its about to stop working.

The thing is that I've poured the cooking oil away from the soup, so I'm thinking anytime i want to fry egg, I'll mix the egg with the soup and slice meat into it because I dont want to waste it. Now the question is I know I'll be taking small amount kerosene into my body everyday, what I wanna ask is that hope it wont have any bad consequence on my body system since it's so little

I have always wanted to ask this, hence I don't know where to start from but anyways let me ask it anyhow and see who's gonna contribute and pls I don't need children commenting on my thread. Very experienced fellows who can add sense to the IT industry, that's what matters now.

Are there Pen testers in Nigeria?

I've always been looking forward to having a whatsapp group chat where hackers (white hat) and pen testers would meet, share ideas like you know how hackforums.net and other security forums work. As we know the only way to protect your computer is to hack it. Only I laugh when I see some skids doing copy and paste work and some who don't even know anything, just trying to feel among would want to comment as well.

This has to stop. We need to start giving and sharing ideas to Nigerians as we are ranked number 16 most vulnerable country to cyber attacks. Guys I'd like us to come together and share ideas, what you know I know somethings, and I'd like to meet someone who knows as well. So pls if you are capable, let's see you.

With some of ur posts, you don't appear to be someone who wants to gain more knowledge but someone who only want to share what he knows.

POA: you still av a long way to go to be a real hacker

Being a programmer doesn't make you a computer scientist. Google about what computer science entails. Does ordinary programmers know algorithms? Can they analyse algorithms? Do they know how those programs run in the computer? Do they under computer architecture? A pol Sci student can learn how to program but they are not computer scientist. Do you know the reason why some companies demand that you have your first degree in computer science before they can employ u to their IT department? Because they understand what it takes to be a computer scientist.

I'm not saying computer science is all about programming, but programming is under computer science and for someone to know programming, he's already a computer scientist.

Abeg, nairalanders, contribute to this argument

Sir, a programmer is not a Computer Scientist, it is more like comparing a Bricklayer and a Civil or an Architecture Engineer

Computer science is wide sir, and programming is under computer science. So how will a person be a programmer and not a computer scientist..

I think nairalanders should give their comment on this

Programming doesn't make you a computer scientist. There are lot to it. We computer scientist build tools and analyse programs or data. Anybody can be a programmer. Even market women could enroll for programming classes at aptech. What would differentiate them from computer scientist is that, do they know how the program runs? the time, space?

U said "we computer scientist build tools and analyze PROGRAMS".... May I ask what will you use to build the tools, is it not by PROGRAMMING.

"anybody can be a programmer".. So far someone is a programmer, he's already a computer scientist.
Though I agree computer science is wide but you cannot say a programmer is not a computer scientist

The mistake alot of people make is to think computer science is all about programming, well it is not. You could actually in certain instances be a computer scientist and not program. There's a whole lot more to it, than a mere programmer will grasp. Your ability to code is four languages is just like a man saying he can work with a hoe, axe, cutlass and spade. With computer science you can go a step further a even create new tools.

The thing is that programming is the bedrock of anything you are doing on computer, though its not compulsory to learn it.
But its good for someone to have it at the back of his mind that its a programmer that built the app he is using to do his work.
So everything is still under programming.

What is this one saying
You don't need mathematics to be good in programming.

Lol. Bro, you still have much to do if you want to be a programmer.
Do you know that computer understands no language except maths.... All these diff programming language translate ur written code to binary code(maths) for computer to understand.
Have you ever thought of why they said maths is the father of technology.
U need to research more bro. Jahbless

Education / The Polytechnic Ibadan Is A Thief by patriotsam: 8:18pm On Oct 12, 2017
Most universities and polytechnics already let jambites know before purchasing their post utme form if they accept any choice or only first choice, but this not the case when it comes to poly Ibadan case.
After exceeding the stipulated fg #2000 post utme fee by charging her aspirants #9000, her admission office later announced that it's necessary for all her aspirants to change poly Ibadan to first choice for them to be considered for admission. NOTE: This information came out after the closing of post utme sale.
What's vexing me now is that why didn't they let us know they will only accept first choice when purchasing their form and they had to wait for it to close before sharing the information. This is pure 419.
How I wish fg could sanction them

Its possible that's the cause. Especially if you did the change of institution very late. Just keep trying to login. Once your data gets to UI, you'll be able to login.

You're welcome.

Thanks for your reply, but lemme give you a piece of advice before you pick unilorin for remedial I.e uil pedigree. Do you know unilorin remedial admission is done just like jamb own. I also applied for their remedial last year but wasn't picked. So I'll advise you maybe to apply for other school predegree, they will admit you straightaway so far their required number of students have not been met, and when the space for other schools predegree is full, they'll stop selling the pd admission form, but opposite is the case when it comes to unilorin. Unilorin will have space for 4000 remedial student and she will sell the admission form to about 11000 people before she stop the sale(greed).
Most people don't know this before they apply for it, so if you know you don't get connection in unilorin, don't pick it for remedial.
Education / Which Of These Universities Should I Pick For Jupeb Program by patriotsam: 10:09pm On Jul 31, 2017
Unibadan
Oau
Futa
Unilorin
Funaab

I don't want to pick the one that its admission is not 100% sure even if somebody pass.
Thanks

No situation is permanent. com.ng is good for a start and if u are targeting nigerian audience. If you feel you are financially boyant, then it's best to get a .com but if it's not so, go for .com.ng

BTW, know that traffic is not something you get overnight. You haven't even started and ur're talking of Media.net. I can get 6 Nigerian Adsense acct approved easily but to get a media.net is harder. Start first then along the way, you can move on.

Thanks man, but my question is that the site I'm about to build is Nigeria traffic only prospective and from people reviews, it's like a website with Nigeria traffic only won't yield much. I just want people to let me know if it is advisable to go for Nigeria target site. Thanks.
Forget about that media.net, I just used it as example
