Contrary to the opinion held by a lot of people that hunger is the greatest problem facing Africa, President Muhammadu Buhari has revealed what he feels is the greatest evil of all time that is sinking the boat of the continent.

Buhari who was speaking on Sunday, January 28, 2018 in Addis Ababa, stated vehemently that corruption is the greatest evil facing Africa.

He said: “Corruption is indeed one of the greatest evils of our time. Corruption rewards those who do not play by the rules and also creates a system of distortion and diversion thereby destroying all efforts at constructive, just and fair governance.

The president who has been named the champion of anti-corruption at the opening ceremony identified other negative effects of corruption as, posing a real threat to national security; eroding the development of a universal culture of good governance, democratic values, gender equality, human rights, justice and the rule of law.

Continuing, he said: “A Judiciary which stands firm against arbitrariness and injustice by the executive is a vital pillar in the anti-corruption fight. As leaders, we must build synergy between the Executive, Legislative and Judicial arms of government in order to entrench good governance, transparency and accountability.

Porosity: describes how the hair absorbs moisture. Your hair can be
high / medium / low in porosity.



Pre poo: necessary before shampooing. You do this by using an oil (which is chosen according to your hair porosity) to finger detangle and massage into your scalp. This helps minimising breakage and stripping of your scalp's natural oil. After detangling, wear a shower cap and let it sit for at least 15-30 mins for the oil to penetrate every strand.




Detangling: removing the tangles and knots of your hair. This is achieved by using your fingers or a WIDE tooth comb (if it's not wide, you are going to pull all your hair out). The best and easiest way to detangle is by serperating your hair into 4 sections and then carefully using your fingers to remove the knots





Shampooing: washing your hair with a shampoo. Make sure it's your scalp that you concentrate on because that's where the build ups are. It's your scalp that has to be clean. Dividing into four sections helps the hair not to tangle when washing. Once a week for low porosity hair and medium porosity hair . Every second week for high porosity hair.






Clarifying shampoo: Only for those with low porosity hair. It's used once a month to clarify the scalp because low porosity hair is prone to more build ups.






Co washing: Washing with a conditioner instead of a shampoo. Beneficial for those with high porosity hair . Since people with hair porosity hair shampoo every 2nd week, you can co wash in between those weeks.






Note: Everybody's hair is different so 'listen' to your hair. If you find out that shamppoing your hair every 2nd week makes it feel dry then shampoo every 3rd week or once a month but co wash in between





Deep conditioning : Extremely important! Helps moisturise the hair, soften it and strengthen it. It's done after washing. Apply a conditioner (which is chosen according to your hair porosity) to every strand of your hair (you apply just as you would apply a relaxer). Wear a shower cap and let it sit for 30 mins before washing it away.
If your hair is low in porosity , you have to deep condition with INDIRECT heat. After conditioner is applied, wear a shower cap, put a warm towel on it and wear another shower cap so the conditioner will be able to penetrate every hair stand (since the cuticles of low porosity hair are closed, it's very difficult for moisture to get in)





Proteins: Proteins in conditioners are very good for high porosity hair because they help lock in moisture.
Medium porosity hair should avoid not using too much though. Too much moisture causes hair strands to weaken, which causes breakage. So it's best when you just use a conditioner that contains protein once a month
Low porosity hair should avoid proteins because it makes their hair bristle or straw like





Sealants: are e.g Leave in conditioners, hair milk and oils. They seal in moisture and should be applied when the hair is DAMP (not soaking wet & not dry) and after washing your deep conditioner off





Moisture: = Water. So make sure the first ingredient of every hair product you buy is Aqua/H20/Water





LOC Method: For high porosity and medium porosity hair




LCO Method: For low porosity and medium porosity hair




LC Method : For low porosity hair




LO Method : For low porosity hair



L= Liquid (you can keep in a spray bottle and mix with a leave in conditioner/hair milk)
C= Cream/Leave in conditioner/hair milk
O= Oils (use oils according to your hair porosity )





Protective styles: help protect the hair from harsch weather and breakage, also helps grow the hair e.g braids, twists, bantu knots etc. A protective style should be removed after 4 weeks to 6 weeks so you can take care of your natural hair. If you don't build ups will occur which can lead to breakage





Big chop: Cutting all relaxed/heat damaged hair off




Transitioning: Phase of letting your natural hair grow out and gradually cutting the relaxed ends off





Trimming: Should be done if you notice your ends are getting thinner

The Federal Government yesterday stated that it has released $1 million for the delivery of contraceptives to enhance the quality of family planning in Nigeria.

The Minister of Health, Professor Isaac Adewole stated this while briefing the State House correspondents after the Wednesday's Federal Executive Council, FEC meeting yesterday.

According to him, following a presidential approval of the joint venture agreement between the federal government and May $ Baker for the production of local vaccines, a board had been constituted on January 19 to oversee the venture and consequently, Nigeria will begin to produce its vaccines within the next two years.

He also stated that the Federal Government had also made plans for was the enrollment of 320,000 members of the National Youths Service Corps (NYSC) for National Health Insurance Scheme yearly, adding that the bill seeking the establishment of National Centre for Disease Control (NCDC) to help in tracking diseases has passed second reading in the National Assembly

A 71-year-old man has constructed a two-faced car that has two front sides and can be driven simultaneously by two drivers.

The Indonesian mechanic identified as Roni Gunawan splitted two Toyota Limbo cars into halves and welded the fronts together at his garage.

He spent six months with the help of ten workers to finally produce the car which has two engines, two steering wheels, two pedals, two gear sets and a single fuel tank.

However, the car might not to see the light any time soon as the car was seized by local police on January 15 within few hours after it hit the street for the first time for violating local traffic rules.

The Senior traffic police officer said he violated two articles of the 2009 law on vehicle roadworthiness, including a requirement that cars feature all of the proper safety signals.

He said: "The vehicle does not have a reverse light and the dimensions of the vehicle are not appropriate.

The owner had not taken the license to change the colour or the shape of the vehicles before designing this car.

Former Minister of Education and convener of the Bring Back Our girls group, Oby Ezekwesili has been detained by police officers at Unity Fountain in Abuja.

Mrs. Ezekwesili who took to Twitter to cry out over the development wrote;

The Nasarawa State government has suspended a principal and three teachers following the viral video of students being flogged like animals at Government Science Secondary School, Nassarawa-Eggon.

The State Commissioner of Education, Mr. Tijjani Ahmed disclosed that the suspension became necessary following a previous ban on flogging in public schools across the 13 local government areas and 18 development areas of the state.

Tijjani issued a stern warning to other teachers against corporal punishment to students, adding that anyone caught would not be spared.

He said: “We have constituted a committee to investigate the matter and report to the ministry in the next one week to enable the ministry to take appropriate action. Already, three staff members of the school including the Principal have been given a one-month suspension over their involvement in the corporal punishment pending the report of the committee set up by the ministry.

“The ministry has also written to all public schools, informing their managements of the ban on corporal punishment.

“Even if teachers would want to punish students for any offence, it should be minor punishment, the government would continue to respond to the challenges facing the education sector in the state.”

Recall that the videos of the brutalization sparked a serious concern from people across social media.

The videos had even gotten international attention, with everyone strongly condemning the teachers' action.

A 20-year-old man is charged with murder after allegedly stabbing his former high school classmate over 20 times.

Blaze Bernstein had been visiting his parents while on winter break from the University of Pennsylvania. His parents reported him missing on January 3 and, a week later, his body was found in a shallow grave in a park.

The Orange County Sheriff's Department arrested Samuel Woodward Blaze's high school friend, on suspicion of homicide. According to The O.C. Register, Blaze's Snapchat account led investigators to Woodward.

Officials have not found a weapon and are still trying to determine a motive in the case, however, Woodward confessed to investigators that he grew angry when Blaze tried to kiss him the night he disappeared.

The two had reportedly communicated on Snapchat before Woodward picked up Blaze at his parents house at about 11 p.m. on January 2. They drove to the parking lot of a Hobby Lobby in Lake Forest.

Woodward told investigators that Blaze then kissed him on the lips, and that he pushed the Ivy League student away. Per the affidavit, Woodward allegedly "clenched his jaw and fists" while telling officials that "he wanted to tell Blaze to get off of him."

Texts from Blaze suggest that the student had been planning on sexually pursuing Woodward. Back in June, Blaze allegedly texted two female friends claiming Woodward was about to "hit on me" and "he made me promise not to tell anyone… but I have texted every one, uh oh."

Sex during pregnancy is not something everyone is quite comfortable with for varying reasons.
A recent survey found that one in six couples abstains from having sex during the entire nine months of pregnancy.
Some couples have their sex life pretty much active until the baby gets an eviction notice at the end of the 9 months journey.

But a whole lot of others give a red card to sex once they see the double lines on the pregnancy strips.

A new survey by Channel Mum revealed that the number of parents who desist from having sex during pregnancy is higher than we ever imagined.

From the survey, it was gathered that many couples were avoiding sex during pregnancy for fear that the baby might get hurt during the process.

Most of the respondents agreed that it was plain wrong to have sex while a baby is on the way.
Women from the study agreed that they had the best sex at around four months, but just two months later, at the point of the sixth month, 57 per cent had stopped getting intimate altogether.
Actually, the major reason couples desist from having sex during pregnancy is because of how pregnant women feel during those days.
Eight out of 10 mums who responded to the survey stated that they only felt attractive for a teeny period at the full 42 weeks, which of course is hardly surprising when you factor in tiredness, nausea and a changing body.

On the plus side, 65% of dads said they found their other half more beautiful than ever while pregnant.
According to Psychologist and relationship expert, Emma Kenny: “Anything which changes your life and your body changes the way you deal with sex – and pregnancy does both.

“For some women, they revel in their curvier body and their sex drive goes through the roof. But others are anxious about hurting their unborn child, insecure about their blooming body or stressed about the impending pressures of motherhood, and this means they find it far harder to maintain a normal connection with their partner and have sex.

Genevieve Nnaji has supposedly replaced Funke Akindele on the cast list of hollywood Marvel upcoming movie "Avengers:Infinity War.

Funke Akindele’s name was expelled after it was uncovered that she was never reached for the part. A hack in the database had planted her name there.

Genevieve’s name is currently on the rundown and if real, she’ll play an individual from the Black Panther’s watchmen – the ‘Dora Milaje’.

A taxi driver accused a 16-year-old boy of stealing N100 in the early hours of Saturday, January 13, 2018 at Area 3 Junction Abuja.

The taxi driver claimed to have had lots of !0 and N20 notes so he decided to help the boy who sells pure water with change.

Things took a fresh turn when the boy claimed that the taxi driver gave him only N60.

An eye witness in the taxi agreed with the driver that he gave him hundred Naira.

'He gave me only sixty naira' said the boy of Hausa descent who could barely express himself in English.

An argument ensued which would have degenerated into lynching of the young boy.

According to a Daily Naija ireporter, the argument grew tense and the taxi driver raised his voice calling him a thief.

A crowd of onlookers soon arrived the scene and luckily for the boy, some onlookers suggested that the case be taken to the nearest police station.

Nigerian music lord, Tuface Idibia has lent his voice to the incessant attacks by the Fulani herdsmen in his state and across other regions of the country.

He took out time to talk about the Benue killings shortly after his performance at the Soundcity MVP Awards held at Eko hotel and suites, in Lagos State.

Tuface charged the government to walk the talk and put an end to the attacks which have seen so many people to their early graves.

In his words: “On behalf of Benue people, we cannot continue to sit down.

“Enough is enough, Abeg our government and security agencies should stop the killings in Benue.

“Let them not just talk about the killings but take action.”
