Thanks. I need a stable network to do so. Be it noted that I will be uploading a 4.1 which I personally find better than both the 4.2.1 and the 4.2.2. The problem with the two is that for now one cannot load new applications other than the ones preinstalled.

If you have a PC, download Root with Restore by Bina4ry_v31.zip. On the dashboard, pick the option OLD. This assumes that your phone is properly connected to do this you must have installed the drivers. The easiest way to do this is to install SNAPPEA it will install the drivers if you are connected to the internet. Or you could install PDA Net 4.13. Go to SETTINGS > DEVELOPERS OPTIONs on your set and tick USB DEBUG. If no PC you can try FRAMAROOT just save it in your SD card install and follow the instructions. YOU DO THIS AT YOUR OWN RISK.

My friend, I am not a signpost. I bricked my phone over 30 times trying this out. I dont want anyone to go through that. I will waste my bandwidth unless people are interested. Google is your friend, do the search yourself if you feel I am too slow. I posted about the already well tested 4.1 several days back and nobody has shown interest. I am not a guru. I just want to share at my own pace. It is not the link that is important but the work around.

Complicated.I was bricking my phone on an average of four times a day. I am not a guru, an old man in fact. I was challenged that N7 was left behind and the taunts of those people with a fixation on Tecno. The challenge now is to enable interested users benefit. It would not do to point you to the source of the ROM. I would love to upload a ROM that would be a breeze to flash.

At last Jelly Bean for Tecno N7. I successfully ported JB 4.1 on N7 yesterday. I have been using it since then, stable and good for every day use so far. rekeson will give further information on this. By His grace, 4.2 will be here in a couple of weeks.

Htc phones have a special procedure. First read about S-Off and go to www.htcdev.com to know if your device is listed. You could just google ROOTING HTC MERGE and you will have all the answers you need. Good luck.

I stated earlier that I was testing the ROM. I am not a guru just an average user trying to get my money's worth. What I downloaded was an odexed rom. I have deodexed the system apks and the framework. I am now Supercharging after pimping it. I want to upload a better ROM than I got. I am working with only rekeson on this. Please be patient with an old man...

Note that this is is an ICS custom ROM, and it is not my work I only downloaded it and found a workaround to use it on N7. It runs smoother than stock ROM. I have been using it for two days now and no bug except the one already mentioned and an annoying robot voice when connected to NAIRALAND only. It keeps announcing every move made. You need to try this first. rekeson and I are both working on JB. Network in my area is at less than snail speed at the moment. Below are resized screenshots.

Anyone interested in a custom ROM for N7? I have flashed a custom ROM, I am using it presently. I need to test it for a few days more. Only bug so far is the keyboard, the comma is partially hidden. Installing any other keyboard takes care of it. I will post screenshots after resizing them.

only 483 MB of RAM is available to N7 users. Therefore, if you have many applications installed, the phone will always run out of memory.Install Memory Booster and the like to manage it.

The custom jelly bean rom for the N7 is almost done, still having some major issues with the kernel.

I just downloaded and installed the Cwm recovery. Let's applaud rekeson. This is what people should use their time for, not being champions of Samsung. Just salivating for the Jellybean ...

Use MT Droid Tools. Once it it is connected, you click on create scatter. It will be done. Is your phone rooted? You cannot use Mobile Uncle with an unrooted phone. You cannot also get a permanent cwm on a stock ROM. (The battery on my Laptop is flat, so I am writing offhead)

Just go back one page and you will find your answer. If you cannot get that google recovery for Lava Iris 501.There are two cwm and two Twrp. You can use either the SP Flash Tools or Mobile Uncle. You will need a computer and installation of Adb drivers to flash with SP Tools. With Mobile Uncle, you don't need a computer, just run the apk and open the dashboard select RECOVERY UPGRADE. You should have pasted the recovery image at the root of your device's SD card, that is not inside any folder. Mobile Uncle will scan and locate the recovery image. Then it installs the recovery. By pressing the power button and tapping the Volume up button at the same time, the device goes into recovery. You navigate up and down with the volume buttons and confirm with the power button. Move or copy your backup to the SD card and use it to restore.

He came out with microfire v3.2 for LAVA Iris 501, in Augustcf [ROM] [NEW] MicroFire v3-2|LAVA 501 and you may also check forum.xda-developers.com|showthread.php.?t=2252143. I believe this will save some work. Since that busybody mentioned it I will work on how to build OTA updater and swap apks, I had them in my Laptop, and let you have them by tomorrow by His grace. To include OTA update in the ROM, just go to to the otaupdatecenter.pro and follow the instructions. I will send screenshots of instructions on swapping later. More grease to your elbows.
