What about the Lava Iris 501?

This is an appeal to all owners Tecno N7. rekeson has just volunteered to try port a custom ROM for our phone and I think we need to encourage him. I have download two of the ROMs but not the Microfire 3.2 which is the latest and the best. The reason is that it is uploaded to Mediafire and the connection breaks after a while. The zip file is about 500MB. I think we need to contribute for him to download these ROMs totalling over 1GB. Let us send MB, card or credit to him. Sorry for replying late. They are:ROM Microfire 3.2 by Akash on Xda Developers Forum. Please ask for his permission first, he is very insistent on that. This is based on on Jellybean. The others are [ROM] Lava Iris 501 and [ROM] [02-05-2013] Revolution HD , the latter is Jellybean, the former ICS. Both are by fahad.saggitaurus. Stock Jellybean firmware is also available from kamal882 0n Modaco and Xda. Speaking for myself, I prefer the Microfire 3.2, it is a beautiful job. Best of luck.

What about Samsung does it have a platform? It was known for Java phones. I want to believe that some of you just feel bad that some other people are using Android phones like yourselves. It is a shame. Samsung like all others, o not own the Android platform. Everyone knows that quality and build wise the HTC OneX is better than the S4. HTC is a Chinese company.

Some people who use Tecno products are not less than average Nigerians. It is a matter of choice and priority. Have you ever seen a man at the point he lost his expensive BB or I Phone? I am told of a former Nigerian ruler, who can who buy your village, who was using a Nokia 3310 until a few years back, maybe still. A man's life does not consist of the abundance of his possessions. A phone is a utility as far as many are concerned.What is your problem with Tecno? Why cann't one go through a thread without the name Tecno popping up? It is irritating.

Barometer, Thermometer et al which one was created by Samsung? These things have been around for years. Anyway, I stated sometime that Tecno simply understands what they want and went for it, Nigeria has one of the largest though poor telecommunications market in the world. Somebody wrote somewhere that Tecno cannot go to India, it did in July. And for everyone's information, three of the most popular phone models in India, Micromax A100, Lava Iris 501 and the Prestigio 5000 are exact replicas of the N7 to the last detail. We are Ok with Tecno and we only ask for OTA upgrade in the future.

Does the Pc recognize the phone? If it does not, then take the following steps or better still google: How to unbrick your Mediatek MT65xx. Just follow the steps. After that just flash a recovery for the phone.

For God's sake somebody should try and port a custom ROM for N7. I know of very good custom ROMs for replicas of N7.

1. Xposed installer
2. Xtheme engine
3. Build properties tweaker
4. V6 Supercharger
5. Mobile. Uncle
6. Titanium back up.
Have fun. Make sure you use Mobile Uncle to install custom recovery and then backup. Try TWRP by Akash has a friendlier interface..

Is this really Tecno? They want to hear it ring, and are afterwards surprised. They look at the interface and ask a couple of questions. Ashamed, no reason to be. It is the BB owners who are now.

Honestly Android is better. The only good thing about BB, is the BBM which is coming to Android anyway. The downside for Android is the discriminatory Data package in favour of BB and Android gobbles Data. If you are not a heavy user, Android all the way.

N7 or L3??

N7. I noticed that the boot and recovery images are locked. This seems to be the problem. Any way to unlock them?

Dmedalion please help I have been trying to root my Tecno N7 for as long as I can remember. SuperSu has embedded my device that is not rooted because every apk that requires root says it is not, except AVG. I have followed your tutorial, it is the best so far, believe me I have searched. Below is the screenshot I took applying your tutorial. What do I do next? Sorry it is too large. The gist is that the images should have been downloaded to the target before and could boot up. And that the images layout map on the target is same as that which is to be downloaded. I have the images from the flashtool and my Nandroid backup n d results really d same.

Good job. Please can you do a similar thing for the N7? Your tutorial makes more sense. Thanks in advance.

Please, I need help the setting of myTecno N7 is not working. There is no audio, every other thing seems to be working. I am using it now. I have a Nandroid backup, but every attempt to root has failed. This problem started after I tried to root with Root and Restore v31. What do I do?

A person who bought an N7 and decides to buy an F7, does not throw away the former. He sells at depreciated value and tops up to buy the latter. Having said that, lack of OTA upgrade is a big minus for Tecno. But then the average user does not chase after every little innovation. My N7 suffices for now.

The ChromeOs is supposed to enable you connect very fast to the internet and it is almost dependent on the internet. I have a ChromeOS I downloaded sometime back. Get a Windows OS and try to dual-boot, because when you need to connect with the internet the ChromeOs is super fast.
