Saudi-born Christian evangelist Ahmed Joktan says following Jesus Christ cost him his family, his home, and 13 teeth after he abandoned Islam. Raised as the son of a prominent Islamic religious scholar in Mecca, Joktan memorized the entire Quran by age 13. “The cost of believing in Jesus is real,” he declared, revealing that he still carries scars from the persecution he endured.

His extraordinary journey began while studying English in New Zealand. Joktan says he dreamed of a mysterious man surrounded by brilliant light who directed him to a building with white pillars. The following day, he discovered a church matching the building in his dream, where a pastor introduced him to the Gospel of John. After learning about Jesus Christ, salvation, and repentance, Joktan decided to accept Jesus as his Lord and Savior.

Returning to Saudi Arabia with a secretly concealed Arabic New Testament, Joktan began reading Scripture privately. When his family discovered his conversion, his brothers beat him, his father threatened him, and he was ordered to destroy his Bible. Eventually, his family disowned him and removed his name from their family lineage. Yet Joktan refused to renounce Christ, declaring that his name was now written in the Book of Life.

Today, Joktan boldly proclaims Jesus Christ and urges Western Christians not to fear sharing the Gospel with Muslims. At the AWAKE Houston gathering in September, he declared, “Jesus. Is. Lord!” and encouraged believers to share their own testimonies. Despite losing his family, he says fellow Christians around the world have welcomed him as family, strengthening his conviction that following Jesus is worth the cost.

I met Senior Students who looked like this in a Boarding School I attended. Proper matured men who could've easily had wives at home, without our knowledge.

I'm talking about old boys who had forests on their chests with a lot of veins mapping up their heads, hands and legs. Seeing the calves of their legs, you could've concluded they did BBL.
We just had a lot of men as our Seniors then. We had huge Seniors whose breaths and coughs alone sent cold chills down our spines.

The Seniors we have today in Secondary Schools are just funny boys with their bossy attitudes and prides. What you see today are just tall babies who grew up in wealthy homes with a lot of Indomie, milk and eggs.

Then he made his own position clear. He said people like him encouraged Chinese companies to come because ordinary Nigerians need cheaper goods. He used clothes as an example. An item that can cost about ₦200,000 in Nigeria may cost about ₦20,000 in China. That difference, he said, is why the pressure for cheaper prices will not stop.

VDM reminded them that even if the protest pushes Chinese shops out today, the same change will return in a few years, and it will be harder to stop.

He also blamed Nigerian billionaires. They saw skilled people in Onitsha and Aba making shoes and other goods. They had the chance to build big industries and export those products. They did not. Now foreign companies are entering the space they ignored.

VDM ended by telling them that Change is coming. Traders can adjust now, or the market will force them to learn the hard way later.
