An electrician identified as Bright Ebenezer Odi, 33, has been confirmed dead after he was allegedly kicked on the scrotum by one Victor Chiekezi Iwu, at Umueje Obinze in Owerri West local government area of Imo State.


Iwu reportedly kicked Odi in his testicles during a quarrel that ensued between them over a sharing formula of the bride price of one of their sisters who got married on Sunday..

It was gathered that the victim fell down and started writhing vigorously in pains following the kick, and was immediately rushed to the hospital where he died the following day.

Following the the death of the victim on Tuesday, angry youths of Umueje village besieged the suspect’s family house but when they could not find the suspect, they set the house ablaze.

Confirming the incident, the interim management chairman of Owerri West council area, Okechukwu Enyioha, who is an indigene of the community, said he had called security agencies to take over the matter.

The Police Public Relations Officer(PPRO) for Imo State command, Orlando Ikeokwu, while confirming the incident also disclosed that the Commissioner of Police, Isaac Akinmoyede, has ordered the transfer of the matter to the State Criminal and Intelligence Department for an immediate investigation into the incident.

A young South African architect identified as Buhlaluse Skosana has taken her life shortly after putting up a disturbing Facebook post about her alleged boyfriend whom she claimed complicated and destroyed her entire existence.



Skosana took to Facebook on Monday, November 30, to write about how the man came into her life and ‘‘destroyed it.”

The deceased, described as an exceptionally brilliant architect destined to go places, recently shared photos of a house she had designed and talked about how it was her dream to designed something similar in her hometown, Ulundi.

Meanwhile, friends and colleagues have taken to Facebook to mourn her. One of her distraught friends, Sethabile Makhathini said she called the deceased immediately she saw the Facebook post but unfortunately it was too late as she had already killed herself.

“I called you this weekend, it was such a short call, you reassured me you were okay, I believed you and I continued with my life….I saw this post yesterday and called you immediately… you didn’t answer, and then I sent you a message, little did I know it was the end. I’m so sorry my friend I wish I could have done so much more, now all I can do is cry. I’m so numb. I’m so defeated,” she wrote.

Mallam Abubakar Yunus, one of the victims of the Zabarmari attack who lost two of his sons to the ungodly act, said he was arrested along with his children and that they were slaughtered in his presence.


“People were working on their farms. At our site, the whole thing started at about 10.30 am when the Boko Haram fighters, armed with guns, came wearing army uniforms and surrounded us.

“They slaughtered my sons in my presence and one of them asked me who they were to me! I replied that they were my children. I am still in shock as to how people could be that heartless,” he said.

Another source said it was the productive population in the community that was decimated.

“Those killed were our future; they were the breadwinners. They were agile men killed in their prime; we will never recover from this because a whole generation was wiped away. They left us the elderly behind alongside their wives and vulnerable children,” he said.

Daily Trust reports that farmers including women and children who were harvesting their rice in fields around Zabarmari, just 25 kilometres away from Maiduguri, the Borno State capital, were rounded up between 9 am and noon on Saturday.

More information emerged on Sunday on how the first set of people were killed.

They were reportedly held hostage at gunpoint and railroaded to an isolated area and slaughtered, one after the other, Daily Trust gathered.

The number excludes dozens killed in different locations around Zabarmari and adjoining localities.

The areas could not be accessed on Saturday because the terrorists also set most of the farmlands on fire, credible sources including community leaders, survivors and local vigilantes, said.

The People’s Democratic Party on Sunday described as wicked and devilish, the beheading of farmers by insurgents on Saturday in Zabarmari, Borno State.

No less than 10 women farmers have disappeared from sight following an attack by Boko Haram in Borno state.


Amnesty International has revealed that the ten women working on Kwashabe rice farm are missing after a fresh attack by Boko Haram terrorist group in Borno.

Boko Haram had beheaded 43 farmers in Zabarmari LGA, Borno on Saturday.

AI revealed that of the 43 farmers slaughtered by the terrorist group, 16 were Internally Displaced Persons.

“Amnesty International’sInternational’s findings show that, of the 43 farmers slaughtered by Boko Haram yesterday, 16 were Internally Displaced Persons (IDPs). 10 women working in Kwashabe rice farm are still missing after the attack,” the group said.

AI urged the Nigerian government to do more in protecting Nigerians and ensure perpetrators are brought to justice.

A 32-year-old truck driver whose name was simply given as Taiwo has sadly died, Sunday PUNCH reports.


The man met his tragic end after he fell from a bridge in the Kirikiri area of Lagos State and drowned.

Taiwo had reportedly parked a truck on the bridge on Wednesday to have fun, but he got drunk in the process.

Sunday PUNCH learnt that while he was sauntering on the bridge, he slipped and fell into the river below and drowned.

Some people who were at the spot at the time reportedly tried in vain to rescue the 32-year-old man, who lived in the Ifo area of Ogun State.

The case was said to have been reported at the Kirikiri Police Station by one Ibrahim who owns the truck.

A police source at the station told our correspondent that Taiwo’s corpse was recovered the following day.

He said, “The deceased driver was reported to be drunk and did not know when he mistakenly walked to the tip of the bridge. He fell and people around the area tried to rescue him. His body floated on Thursday and was recovered.”

The police spokesperson in the state, SP Muyiwa Adejobi, who confirmed the incident, said Taiwo’s body had been released to his family for burial.

He said, “On November 25, 2020, around 10.15am, one Ibrahim reported at the Kirikiri Police Station that his driver while under the influence of alcohol slipped and fell into Kirikiri river from the bridge.

“Policemen from the station visited the scene for on-the-spot assessment. His corpse was removed the next day and released to the family, who declined to have an autopsy carried out on the deceased.”

A 19-year-old boy, Maduabuchi Okeke, has died in Lagos while having sex.

The Lagos State Police Command has confirmed the death of the young man who died during a sex romp at a hotel in the Surulere area of the state.


According to the police report, Okeke “died on top of one Sandra,” a commercial sex worker at the Exclusive Mansion Hotel on Ayilara Street in the area.

In the report obtained by SaharaReporters, the police said its personnel had arrested and detained the sex worker and two security guards in the hotel for allegedly smuggling Okeke’s corpse out of the hotel.

It was gathered that on the evening of last Friday, the deceased had reportedly brought the sex worker into a room in the hotel for the night.

When Sandra, however, discovered that Okeke had died during the sex romp, she sneaked out. She contacted two security men in the hotel, Ottah Nduka and Aliu Tiwalola, to smuggle the corpse out of the premises.

According to the police investigation, the corpse was kept in a vehicle and placed on one Ejike Naso’sNaso’s leg who was asked to take the deceased to the hospital as if he was only unconscious.

Ejike, however, reported the matter at the Surulere Police Station.

The police report reads, “One Maduabuchi Okeke, aged 19, died on top of one Sandra (other name withheld) who is a prostitute at Exclusive Mansion Hotel. Two security men in the hotel smuggled the corpse from the hotel and placed the deceased on one Ejike Naso’sNaso’s legs. They threatened to kill Naso if he told anybody how the deceased died.

“Meanwhile, the prostitute and the two security men have been arrested during to know the real cause of his death further be conducted on Maduabuchi to further know the real cause of his death before his corpse would be released to his family for burial.”

Nasir Babale, a 26-year-old notorious car snatcher has been nabbed in Adamawa state.


He was nabbed by operatives of Adamawa State Police Command who recovered a Toyota Corolla.

Spokesperson of the command, DSP Suleiman Yahaya Nguroje, who confirmed the report in a statement on Saturday November 28, said the suspect Nasir Babale, a resident of Guyuk Local government area, was arrested on Friday, November 27, by operatives of Numan police division.

“The notorious suspect confessed to have stolen the vehicle somewhere in Jimeta, the state capital before he was apprehended while trying to smuggle the stolen vehicle out of the state to Taraba State,” said Nguroje, adding that the suspect will be arraigned before a competent court for prosecution.

Meanwhile, the Commissioner of Police, CP Olugbenga Adeyanju applauded the effort of the policemen, cautioned people to be security concious and assured members of the general public that much is being done to protect lives and properties in this festive period.

Governor of Kaduna State, Nasir El-Rufai says it is time to restructure Nigeria in order to ensure equitable distribution of resources.


He said this during a public lecture on Saturday, October 31. He maintained that restructuring the country is in the best interest of ensuring sustainable development.

El-Rufai, who cited the 2018 recommendations of the APC committee on restructuring, noted that there was a need to reorganise the country’s constitutional framework in order to give states more control over certain resources.

A retired military officer, Bode George, has revealed that a former Governor of Lagos State has three jets.
