Crime / Re: 8 RCCG Members And 39 Students Kidnapped In Kaduna Still In Captivity by paulovieroskoles: 7:51am On Mar 27, 2021 |
prof2007: If the Kaduna state government won't negotiate with the terrorists then the sensible thing is to initiate a rescue of the students from captivity. How long should it take the government and the police to track the whereabouts of the abducted students and launch a rescue operation? This is common sense. But our leaders are so docile in matters like this because it is the masses that are affected and not them. Would El Rufia be this adamant and unresponsive if his ward or close relative was abducted? In the last End SARS protest, we saw the police gear worn by the police showing that when the police want to do their job, they have the tools to do so. The police and government should be begin to take kidnap cases seriously. In a situation whereby victims' relatives are unwilling or can't afford to pay ransom, rescue operations should be conducted even if some students end up dying. They should only make sure that the kidnappers don't escape either. 1 Like |
Politics / Re: Hijab As Red Meat Of Bigotry - By Farooq A. Kperogi by paulovieroskoles: 10:29am On Mar 21, 2021 |
ThatFairGuy1: If the Hijab is so important to you and you don't want to risk offending Allah by not wearing it in a Christian school then the solution is quite simple. You attend a school that protects your choice of wearing it at all times. Any Christian that goes to a Muslim school where they insist that all female students should wear Hijab should either comply or leave. It's that simple. People should weigh what is more important to them be it the quality of education or the freedom to wear a veil. |
Politics / Re: Hijab Crisis: CAN Hasn’t Learnt From History, Says MURIC by paulovieroskoles: 9:52am On Mar 21, 2021 |
360degreess: This is a silly response. Mere looking at the first sentence you made shows that you didn't really think through what you wrote. You said the bible says women should cover their hair. If you read the passage in context, you would see that the passage was talking about a church service. You can't compare a church service to a school as they are not the same. Secondly, you said women. Are the school students women or girls? That again should be another issue you ought to have considered. Now you said we follow our scholars instead of the Bible. Based on what you have just writ ten it appears you need them more than the Christians. As apostle Paul when he wrote that letter wrote to Jews and not Nigerians. And even if it was a matter of debate, the church is where the matter was being debated. While your previous points could be called ignorant responses, your concluding statement only shows how bigotry clouds common sense. You are asking a Christian school to go to Rivers state or whatever to relocate if they won't allow hijabs in Kwara state. The question now we should now ask is who declared Kwara a Muslim state? Are the founders of the school from Rivers state? Is there any state in Nigeria you can call a Christian state? You and MURIC that is demanding that they relocate, can't the Christians equally demand that you look for Muslim schools to attend if you won't abide by the school's dress code? We know that the odds are stacked against the Christians and they probably won't get justice but I suggest that all parties explore the justice system to resolve this crisis as truth be told, it's a trivial matter but religion has the tendency to amplify things more than they actually are. |
Politics / Re: Sheikh Gumi: Bandits Feel Everyone Is Against Them by paulovieroskoles: 9:00pm On Mar 10, 2021 |
Gumi talks like we offended the bandits and terrorists before they went on their killing and abduction spree. One would think that he is actually pretending to be naive or actually very stupid in the way he talks. 1 Like |
Sports / Has Mourinho Gone Too Far? by paulovieroskoles: 1:11pm On Aug 12, 2015 |
There seems to be more trouble for Chelsea first team doctor, Eva Caneiro, as Chelsea manager, Jose Mourinho, has elected to limit Eva Caneiro's influence on the squad after Mourinho publicly criticised her for rushing into the pitch to treat Eden Hazard who went down seemingly injured while Chelsea were hanging on in their premier league game opener against Swansea. According to reports, Dr Eva's job description will be modified. She will no longer attend training sessions, be in the team's hotel nor be on the bench on match day. She however, will retain her post as first team doctor. You can read more here: paulovieroskoles..co.ke/2015/08/has-mourinho-gone-too-far.html?m=1 |
