As this is the case nw, what do u think would be the better option cos it will not be proper to lack behind the pace cos we are not going to germany to eat, see white people and infrastructure o.
The answer is simple. Nothing can be don about the past but something can definitely be done about the future. That is why when I read the issue of German girls I just smile and shake my head.
Like I said you don't have to experience it first before you adjust.
To all 2016 peeps please readjust your mindset as in commot am for German babes or flexing things. Your mind should be focused on one goal and that is graduating. Abi you no know se no be everybody de graduate? Like Futurewiser said fail one exam three times and you are out. Three times no be many times o dem de write the resit before the commencement of the next semester so no time to se I go read am next year. One to two months after the iniitial exam resit don land if the person fail.
The only option is to focus on your studies and avoid distraction in all its forms and guise at least till you settle down and fully understand the system.

Good luck......

LOL. Bros you be Reverend? Abi e don get one black girl wen you like wey you come dey try chyke her by proxy? Forget that thing bros - Anybody fit blow him money on top anything wey him like, including the German girls. Plenty something dey their body wey no dey our naija girls body. For instance, dem be blondes and our naija girls be black, some fair ones, and some wey don dye their skin color from black to yellow. So, having blondes will be having a different flavour from that which you have been used to. I mean don't we all want to experiment, at some point in life? Try something different? Show me a man that can survive on bread alone, will you? Especially when that bread is not the best and there are varieties staring at you in the face.....Our naija girls pretend die, Blonds don’t (And this is talking from experience). They are so upfront. And I find that very attractive. Our naija girls just wants to take advantage of a ni***….They are always in it for something……mostly financial benefits (however coloured), and this includes the girlfriends and the wives. A blond will shag you without thinking twice, she will dutch the bills with you on dates and outings, she’ll spend time with you simply because she just likes your company…. If a naija girl is spending time with you, look closely, something is in it for her….By the way, you know wetin the ones wey we leave for Naija go dey go? Both the girlfriends and wives? Spare us that gist bro. Let’s talk about visa.

Respect to all the ladies. I don’t mean any disrespect. I’m just saying.
Guy YOU ARE NOT BROKEN. FEAR GOD O! lolzzzz
I'm not a Reverend ok.
From your statement I see the mindset and perception with which you view life. It is a free world my brother but remember that we all will reap the consequences of all our actions someday, one way or the other. All of our actions are seeds sown into the future.
I rest my case I no talk pass there.
Enjoy!

weldone boss.... what course sir and that your rent fee is it inclusive of all utility charges? and shey semester tickets dey?
I'm studying Economics yea semester ticket comes with the payment of your semester contribution the school gives you a card THOSKA for the use of all city buses and trams. But if you mean the semester ticket for free lunch at studentenwerk den you must buy a service pack i.e pay your rent in full at a go. Omo that one na one chance so its not an option.

Bros it is inclusive of ALL. Electricity, heater, washing and drying machine (one euro though) room comes fully furnished. In Germany EVERYONE has to pay internet fee of 10 euros weda ur rent na 500 euros per month.
Please note that others pay higher in certain instances for self apartment (your personal kitchen bathroom and toilet) for single room (personal room, shared kitchen two bathrooms and toilets) some persons pay 138 euros. I pay 167 which is still way cheaper than other cities.

Pls I just applied for a funded doctoral position at the Friedrich Schiller university, pls do you know what's their acceptance rate of international students is and how long will it take to get their response and an invitation for an interview which may culminate in beginning of studies.

Thanks good to know that Jena is not what guys online say it is. Am happy to hear from someone live in Jena. God bless you.
You're welcome Bro. Jena is a lovely city in all ramifications I have NO REGRETS coming here.
PhD positions are mostly determined by the individual faculties, departments and chairs. Firstly I do not know the position you applied for (department and faculty) but a good place to start is by looking up specific information on the friedolin website:
https://friedolin.uni-jena.de/qisserver/rds?state=wtree&search=2&category=einrichtung.browse&navigationPosition=functions%2Cunistructure&breadcrumb=unistructure&topitem=functions&subitem=unistructure

Click on the site, select your department and peruse. NB: you need will see a British flag somewhere at the top right corner click on it to change the language to English.

Good luck. Do let me know if there's any other thing I can do to help. I look forward to seeing you.

As per acceptance rate, the school accepts PhD students and its definitely with funding. I know of a Nigerian here who finished his doctorate and got retained by the school.

My efamily SEE i tire o .U go start classes in the morning and 6pm here day don dark . The europe n russian guyz dey follow but be like say the Afri guys need 2 study n study o as I no know if na similar curriculum when we use 4 the past 4 yrs them self use o .NO TIME 4 CLUB OR PLAY O

On the area of Food, Here is what I do . I buy sliced bread and nutela and take 4 slices in my bag to school everyday.in september i spent over 200 euros on food but in october i spent less than 100. i ensure i cook . Make plenty stew n soup every weekend then boil rice or make Griess everyday morning and evening. Griess of 29 cent can be made 3x. Rice of less than 1 euro can be cooked like 3x too.

ON School Location , I agree with u I got admission in schweinfurt and Hamburg. The cheapest i saw in hamburg was over 400 euro 4 shared flat and about 1 hr or so by train from school. But I took schweinfurt as the accommodation is 247 for self contain and 5 mins from my school on foot.

so if u leave in a small city u may save more and stress less. imagine when i have a class by 8:15 i can leave my room by 8. but if it was far i will have 2 leave by 7.
There are jobs but u must know German that is a plus 2 big cities though as u may get job with very low german lang.
BUT 2 be sincere When u wan take do u work ? when u get over 300 slides to understand or crame ? u go enter lecture of 90 mins u no go fit ask question as u no even get idea of the theories when they prove?

Omo as them announce credit transfer I sharply go transfer some so that my life go easy o .lol
That been said if anyone is interested in coming to FHWS - schweinfurt just send me a private mail and i will reply u with my number.

I wish team 2016 success
Guy I feel you jor. Who no go no know my brother. Na same thing we de experience. Na God go help our educational system for 9ja and to say we de there de brag se we de get world class education smh......
I think I will go with your bread idea. I used to buy this sausage 5 for 3.87 euros and eat it as lunch for 2-3 days lolz but I think the bread is better.
2016 peeps make una take note o. Experience isn't always the best teacher I tell people you can always make the experience of other people your best teacher. You don't have to go through the same experience to learn.

I'm Paul I rep Friedrich Schiller University, Jena. The City of Light and Science.
Any peep interested, send me a mail. No go pay 400 euros for rent per month and then you're left with 270 euros na der body go tell you. After your studies you've got 18months to settle down. With the savings you'll make in two years by working and spending minimally you wont have to struggle when you eventually decide to relocate elsewhere after your studies.

Good luck.....
TravelRe: General German Visa Enquiries Part 2 by Pauluche: 9:33am On Nov 07, 2015
Alright I,m back. Had a busy "yesterday". Lemmi start with the issue Annie17 raised. PLEASE there are GOOD winter jackets in Katangora. I repeat GOOD WINTER JACKETS. As I write I bought four of them and till now I haven't bought any in Germany at least until now and we've had pretty bad temperatures. I really don't know where these guys that are criticizing the mkt got their's. I bought each for 2.5k and they are worth it at least till winter comes. When you enter the mkt just go straight till u see the first building by your left (old upstairs) there's an Igbo man he'll give you good winter jackets.
Yea I raised some important issues in the first post such as booking a bus or train and traveling with your MasterCard. In addition do well to carry Aboniki cuz e go help you.

*** Lemmi correct this mindset with which i entered Germany and almost got worse off. PLEASE DO NOT MAKE THE ATTEMPT TO CONVERT YOUR EURO TO NAIRA BEFORE YOU BUY THINGS like snacks which you might need if you stay long in school, basic items in the shopping center and so on else you go put yourself for hunger and almost get high bp as you de spend and convert. You have to understand that the standard of living as well as exchange rates are not the same. I almost developed ulcer trying to yield to some of the advice given here. Just be prudent in your spending I mean 670 euros is enough to see you through in a month and you will still have something to save at least if you spend wisely. I came in here with 200 Euros it's been over two weeks now despite the buying and all that I still have change with me I never even touch blocked account money.

*** Well that brings me to the issue of school location. I must say that ALL I read here about Jena like the city is small, the state is poor, there are no blacks, no jobs etc IS FALSE (no insult intended). In all honesty and with due respect to Nigeria the city is well organized and the serene is better than any city in Nigeria; Abj and Lag included. Well that's when comparing to 9ja. Yea the city may not have skyscrapers buh who cares about skyscrapers? For heaven's sake I'm here to study not for tourism lolz. There are tall rising buildings though. The City is small Omo no be size of city we come Germany come chop na? Read your books graduate and go anywhere you wish to. The city isn't small by the way. Because it takes me thirty-fourty minutes on tram to get to campus from where I live. Some cities in Thuringia may be poor but Jena Erfurt and some others aren't in anyway. The index of the state is computed on the performance of all the cities in the state that is why the state may of course have an average performance index.
** There are no blacks.... Holy Nehemiah! Who said? Omo I have seen so many blacks as a matter of fact there are so many blacks in my class mostly from Nigeria, Ghana, Cameroon, Gambia just name it. I was shocked when I saw them. Just go to Haus auf de Mauer when you see blacks you go run.
*** There are no jobs.... ehnnn who said? Make I no hear am! My mentor asked me the second day after I arrived how I came (the funds) and if I would love to start work next week I told him I'd like to settle down at least for this term. Na there I stop.
**** Basically I know the opportunity of getting student jobs, the vibe of the city and all that mostly influence our choices at times but from an Economic point of view you also have to realize that the cost of living isn't the same. More so you get paid the same amount for the student jobs. Here some student rooms costs less than 140 euros compared to 250 or 280 in Munich and other cities that's 140 euro difference! Cost of things are also cheaper in these cities compared to other larger cities. Take it or leave it for individuals with similar or the same spending preference (which definitely isn't possible because of the higher propensity to spend/consume in larger cities) the savings of the individual in a larger city will by far be lesser than that of the individual in an average city ceteris paribus. Bear in mind that I didn't include the issue of uni ranking because of the numerous debates it has been through here.

***** You have to make up your mind to study. School here no be beans people have said that before and the Europeans are not making it any easy. You go come class and lecturer go just de talk, de solve and then you realize se at the end na only 10% of the lecture you understand you no go even fit ask questions as the lecturer de teach because you no know where them de I mean you're practically lost! Na der u go see Europeans wey de shake head de understand and de flow with the lecturer and then you begin to ask yourself what happened to the four years you spent in the university in Nigeria. Imagine you go for just one lecture and then you go through 103 slides. How many slides will you have at the end of 12 lectures assuming the class holds just once in a week or 24 lectures assuming it holds twice a week? And then say you are offering 4 to 5 courses in the term? Guy even if you make first class na wash when you come here. I have a very sound result and I was like Omo nothing de happen no be Economics, Econometrics, Calculus and all that? Omo right now, something de happen to God!
I see some guys talking about German girls and I laugh. You get 670 euros per month and you wan waste am on partying, clubbing, drinking and on German girls abi? Ok na enjoy! Very soon if you truly came here for studies body go tell you except you came here for something else.
****** If you have someone you are betrothed to like a serious relationship or engagement or probably you're even married guy chill out naaaa easy.... Consider the other party. We know se bodi de be as e get buh you have to understand that distance makes the heart grow fonder. If you truly have a conscience and you fear God you wouldn't do that. I mean wetin de the German girls bodi? Holla to all my black sisters nothing do una joor. I mean brodaly there's no comparison naaa how e de happen passhuhhuh BLACK IS GOLD.
Anyways I no be relationship counselor it was just an issue raised over here yesterday and the previous post about German girls in this thread that necessitated the last paragraph.

Good luck to all 2016 aspirants. Success is yours!

Hello All, it's been a while since I last showed up here largely due to the fact that I have been trying to settle down and only just signed my internet contract yesterday.
** Let me start by saying Germany is a LOVELY country although procedures can be kind of overly bureaucratic which can be frustrating at times especially as a 9ja guy lolz.
** Anyways here's for the 2016 guys. In addition to the foodstuff you're carrying, carry beef (boiled and dried), fish, garri, dried, stock fish, pepper soup spice, egusi, ogbono, crayfish, pumpkin, bitterleaf, indomie etc also CARRY OIL! CARRY OIL! CARRY OIL! No se dem no tell you! Here's how i carried mine. I put it inside two Eva 75cl bottles, tied it very well, put it inside the inner pockets of my suit then buttoned and rolled up the suit inside a transparent suit nylon(d type dry cleaners de use) and then arrange the suit wella.
I flew Emirates but my luggage was 49kg! Plus one 7kg hand luggage (omo e weigh 11kg in reality o! na small travelling bag sef) and one laptop bag lolz no mind me o I carry food stuff wey go last me till next year cuz I no de take food play... eehhhhnnnn if i hear am! wink wink wink grin grin grin smiley
I paid about $50 for the extra load to be carried (e get how....) If you plan on carrying much load like i did PLEASE follow another airline and forget the names!
From Lagos I follow Obiwann style na three jeans and two winter jackets den hold one for hand omo I de der de sweat like Xmas g**t my laptop bag damage come see as i de drag d hand luggage and laptop bag and winter jacket for hand chai!
*** Didn't have problems with customs dem search my bag dem no see d oil based on d arrangment things.
PLEASE IF YOU WISH TO CONNECT YOUR CITY BY TRAIN OR BUS FROM THE AIRPORT DO WELL TO BUY THE TICKET ONLINE BEFORE YOU LEAVE 9JA AND PRINT IT IT WILL SAVE YOU A LOT. I had a terrible experience trying to connect Jena because i couldn't find the train station in Frankfurt. See as i de drag my three luggage from terminal one to two and back. Despite d weather sweat con de do me! Thank God I HAD MY MASTER CARD WITH ME (Broda and Sista carry am follow bodi o!) I went to a US post there where the american lady used my card to book a bus for me. IF NOT I FOR SLEEP FOR ROAD that day.

To be continued.......... Make I chop I de come...

Hello all, pls is it possible to defer msc admission by say like 1 year or 6 minths after visa issuance ?
Your travel visa is valid for three months you have to arrive Germany before applying for permit.
If you can't travel within the stipulated time then you have to reapply for Visa.
Deferring of admission depends on the school but from what I understand, for some schools that do not defer you can actually include your previous letter of admission in your next application process as a sign that to the admission committee that you previously met their requirement and was granted admission.
However, I do not know if this applies to schools under uniassist.

LOL..Make una no vex, my silenece was as a result of a couple of things beyond my control. One of the fact being that, for the very first time, I didn't really know what to scribble down and how or names to leave out.
On Monday, I took the print out proof of AOK insurance and international passport, as I went to hand over an insurance documents to a very dear friend for her own collection. By faith, I said by force by fire, as I'm going to the embassy, I wasn't just gonna become a channel again, the time for me to go is now! I had everything that morning for collection, but for the print out of the a.m matter mail from the embassy. It was past 9 but I was going no where until I get it I said to myself, I called my alien office and the response was positive. Lo and behold! Just like in a dream, an hour later the mail dropped like hot pap. Right inside the car park beside the embassy, where I was humming to Big Sean's song "Blessings"..."I'm way up, I feel blessed,...I'm way up, I feel blessed...." then the people around me wondered why my voice changed from a Michael Jacksin's falsetto to a Barry White's baritone but they won't understand that ended is a 2 year struggle, a moment that will turn around the fortunes of the bad crooner standing before them.
The journey was arduous, filled with streaks of disappointment from both family and friends (those times were the very lows) but in all victory was assured. Giving up was never an option, I didn't have time to complain, calmness and a strong faith was all I had. However, this wouldn't be possible without all your prayers here. For long I had a virtual family that sometimes translated to a physical one. Mentioning names is the hard part, but at decisive moments in the journey, Apart from family some people had done beyond encouraging words and prayers in their intervention. Swtxt, crowns, Vivian, grin, (who remembered her?) Seunstein and his friend, kennyoguns009, Phucado, oga Goldhorse, Dolpaz, panzi (brother and ghost follower), Obiwannn -one of my DB heroes, My Naija German people, (you guys are the best). For many who will call, send messages, do their prayers in their secret places, I more than appreciate your efforts. We have been so close I don't even remember your monikers.
Guys still awaiting their mails, please, never give up, I started the big dream with less than 100k in my account, a phone & PC for research purposes and a will of steel. Family said no for so long, it was hard but I journeyed despite that to embrace my destiny even after one failure, quitting was not an option. If I can do it, then you can absolutely do it.
For the newbies, I will DEFINITELY, be here whenever the need arises just as always. This time around, with more experience.
I can finally say to myself, "Eke40seven, Congratulations!.... Go to Deutschland and SUCCEED!".
CONGRATS Boss!
Now the part of your post thy really caught my fancy was the switch from FALSETTO to BARITONE! Like seriously I didn't know you're into music too o! Mehn Na u be EVERYTHING O! on this note (if truly you're into music) we have a lot to talk about in Germooooo because apart from studying and all that one must also sustain their PASSION.
Congrats once more. Go to Deutschland and succeed bro!

Ok i will do that, but do i need to send the embassy any mail at this juncture: When i get an extension for enrollment, do i need to alert the embassy immediately? Please i need the advice of everyone in the house. God bless y'all.
Well if you only submitted the appeal on 29.10.15 then I feel you should hold on a little while say till next week while at the same time seek for an extension. If by the time you get the extension the embassy hasn't replied you then you can forward a confirmation of the extension to them via mail. However getting an extension should be the priority now while you await the decision of the embassy.
Most importantly I feel you should put it in prayer.
My Ogas at the top can also render their own advice.

Hello good people in the house, i really need urgent advice on what to do next. I sent an appeal to the embassy since September 28, that's last week Monday, but till this moment i have not received any mail from them. What should i do, considering the fact that my enrollment deadline is October 26.
Please request for extension from your school while you await the decision of the embassy on your appeal.
