Police are launching an investigation into an NHS trust over what is described as the worst maternity scandal in the service’s history. West Mercia Police has confirmed it is investigating whether criminal charges should be brought against the Shrewsbury and Telford Hospital Trust, over 1,200 cases including the allegedly avoidable deaths of babies and mothers. In 2017, an independent review was launched to look into the alleged failings of the NHS trust following the deaths of 23 infants. Hundreds of families are understood to have come forward since then, including cases which have seen infants left with permanent brain damage. The incidents in question occurred between 1979 and this year.
In a statement, Assistant Chief Constable Geoff Wessell said a police investigation will explore whether there is evidence to support a criminal case ‘against the Trust or any individuals involved’. He said: ‘Today we have met with NHS Improvement, The Department of Health and the independent reviewer to discuss complaints made against Shrewsbury and Telford NHS Hospital Trust in relation to maternity services and provision. The independent review is ongoing.
‘We can confirm that a police investigation will be conducted to explore whether there is evidence to support a criminal case either against the Trust or any individuals involved. ‘The investigation is now live so we are unable to comment any further at this time.
Chief executive at the Shrewsbury and Telford Hospital NHS Trust, Louise Barnett, said the Trust is fully co-operating fully with the investigation. She said: ‘We are aware that a police investigation will be conducted by West Mercia Police to explore whether there is evidence to support a criminal case either against the Trust or any individuals involved, following complaints made against the Trust in relation to maternity services and provision. ‘I would like to reassure all families affected that we are listening and acting on feedback.’ If anyone has any information in relation to this issue, who has not already been in touch with the review team, they are being urged to contact the police or the review team.

“Hillary Clinton, what we gonna do? Lock her up like we used to do,” he sang — while joking that Bill Gates’ manhood was “micro soft.”

The Southern Poverty Law Center lists the Three Percenters as an anti-government militia group, saying the name refers to the “dubious historical claim that only 3 percent of American colonists fought against the British during the War of Independence.”

Cohen has yet to comment on the appearance. Some speculated that it could have been a stunt for a new series of “Who is America?” but Showtime has not commented, said Variety.

I have been idling around since the outbreak of the dreaded coronavirus because there was little to do at home. It has all been me and internet and African magic and of course social media. Officers dubbed the operation Fox Hunt 2, after busting an African cyber crime gang running a similar scam in February 2019, in which Dh32 million ($8.7 million) was stolen from victims.

A senior prosecutor told The National last week: “They would send out letters from email addresses almost identical to those of legitimate companies, targeting customers of these companies, with the purpose of diverting payments to themselves.

“Initial information includes that he was part of this gang which fraudulently obtained cash and cars from people.

“His statement was taken by prosecution but this is just the beginning of prosecution investigations.”

Hushpuppi was wanted for fraud in Europe, the US and Nigeria.

Dubai Police chief Lt General Abdullah Al Marri said cyber crime and financial scams on victims at home and abroad remain a major focus for the force.

“As criminals constantly change their criminal methods, the elite officers of Dubai Police work tirelessly with the latest technologies to tackle emerging and transnational organised crime,” he said.

It was alleged he was behind a third of Europe’s cocaine trade and is rumoured to have made €100 million from drugs.

Earlier this month, Amir Faten Mekky – an international gang leader wanted by Interpol – was arrested in Dubai.

He was associated with Taghi and the so-called Angels of Death gang and was wanted in connection with two murders and arson attacks in southern Spain.

Reno Omokri attacks Nigerian pastors again on tweeter. Reno Omokri is a lawyer by profession and also a pastor who has his own church. He played a significant role during president Jonathan's administration.

Reno Omokri is popularly known for his campaign to free the little Christian girl, Leah Sharibu in Boko Haram custody. He has been recently been tweeting alot about church.

About a week ago, he made a tweet that white wedding is not an African nor Christian doctrine. He said that it was adopted by church as it made it's way in Europe. 3 days ago, he made a tweet that those that claim to like santa Claus but hates masquerade are racists. He also said that bleaching is racism.

In a recent tweet, he wrote through his handle on microblogging platform tweeter as below

My fiancee told me last weekend that she was bored and i promised to take her out within the week, but i forgot and she called me during the week to remind me ;to be honest i had no plans to go out that evening but i got dressed, and drove to her place.�

When the manager came out and everything was narrated to her,she asked the girl who owns the money she was holding? she said it was the 5k the manager asked her to bring,and the man is here claiming he has given me money( it wasn't a small scene ooo)�

The manager now told her but you have given me 5k now in my office,this must be this man’s money,that was how the matter was settled and they apologized to me..�

After the whole trouble alone oo,i called her and she said she has gone back home,that what is 5k that i was making noise and embarrassing us in public?�

After i got over the shock,i quietly sent her a message and told her officially that it was over..we have done introduction but due to COVID -19 we suspended things.��‍♂️��‍♂️

Her people said,I am over reacting!!!pls how am I over reacting??�
Are my really over reacting?

What if they killed me there nko?And my only witness left me to die!!
How can my wife to be abandon me in the midst of such crisis?Can such a person standby me in future? Too many things running through my mind.

A federal high court sitting in rivers Port Harcourt has delayed hearing of the case against Godwin Obaseki, governor of Edo state.

On Monday, the court granted two orders — one to stop Obaseki from contesting in the PDP primary election, and the other to serve him by substituted means.

The PDP primary election is less than 24 hours away.

When the case was called on Wednesday, Ferdinand Obirh, counsel to Omoregie Ogbeide-Ihama, the plaintiff, asked E.O Obile, the judge, to grant the parties to the case four hours to conclude a reconciliatory meeting initiated by PDP leaders.

He said the party had begun the process of settling the matter out of court.

Emmanuel Enoidem, counsel to Uche Secondus, PDP national chairman, and other interests in the matter, did not object to the request.

The judge thereafter ruled granting the requests of the plaintiff to delay the hearing so as to give the party time to settle the matter out of court.

But he asked both parties to file their terms of settlement in the court within three hours and adjourned till 12.30pm for ruling on the matter.
