proudly9ja:Now that is the point! Until someone comes out to rily speak abt the fiscal situation at arsenal, we'll all continue to call AW names. AW does more of covering up for the board who are MORE interested in making profits and balancing the books (except prolly, the new Gazidis); and to their advantage, they av a manager in AW who' ll do just that. The players and fans want to win things, the priority of the board get champions league money and AW has to do just dat to keep his job. That's y wenger will neva b sacked for finishing fourth 3 times in 4 seasons. Bottom line, the board don't want what the fans and players want. |
tkb417:United will BEAT bayern anywhere (for now) |
We play Athletico Madrid, Valencia n the the big one begins, away to Everton on Sat d 1st, 8th and 15th Aug respectively. Judging by yesterday's game, we aint ready at all (judging just yet will be unwise, anyway). We gat about 18days or so. At the end of last night's game it seems that Emmanuel Eboue went over to the Arsenal fans, threw in his boots/shirt etc and waved goodbye. Is he going too? I think AW wants to flush out the Africans to a minimal extent knowing how important our fixtures are btw Jan n Feb(Aston, Bolton, Everton, Man, Chelski, Liverpool, amongst others), but he needs to do that with adequate replacements. For all fans, I think this guy isn't a numskull and I think also that he'll buy. He seems to want to adopt the last minute method he used last summer and January (arshavin). He felt short in the former cos he was £2m short for Alonso n Liverpool refused to sell at that. i think also that he's rily covering up for the fiscal problems at arsenal which SAF seem to know abt. Kip ur fingers crossed gunners! |
BlueDiva:Your wish! Arsenal r genuine title contenders ds season, guess u know that deep within ![]() |
There's a big deal abt 30 goals in a season indeed, but it shld be interestin to know how these goals came and the drought he had b4 he revitalised his scoring against derby county. 24 of the 30 were league goals. 6 outta d 24 was against derby country (home n away), the worst team in the history of the EPL, statistically. 18 left, right? 7 of the 18 were penalties. 11 left right? 1 outta d 11 was a handball against d Manure in Old Trashford. the remaining 10 are the numba of goals he deserved. Everyone misses! That's true! henry missed as DAYOKANU said, but the same Henry took arsenal way thru to the UCL final, UEFA cup final, FA cup finals against Barca, Galatasaray n Liverpool respectively. Drogba took chelsea way to the UCL semis against Barca and dropped them there too (not the referee). but where has Ade's goals taken us? is my point!!! |
I tell u Mr. tkb, the chances were more than 150. I just rounded if off to look gud |
@debosky, tnks man! Yea, I read this too yesterday! but a line in the article highlighted d fact that we rily do not need the overly defensive midfield general to partner cesc like we've been clamoring! From the stats (in d article): What does this show then? After all Carrick and Fletcher are far from the archetypal defensive midfielder, but they were the pairing for the champions. It seems that while we stress on the partner for Fabregas being tall, strong, technically excellent, defensively dominant amongst other qualities, we forget that football is a team game and these statistics show this, with the Manchester United pair often scoring low on these various aspects but they weren’t doing much wrong given the trophy haul they accumulated last season. so what exactly is d prb with arsenal ![]() One more thing! some defeats (if not most) we accrue are somewhat preventable. If we'd played arshavin in the semi of the FA (not from the bench), we prolly cud have won, not that chelski wont score too but the score line might have ended d cricket way!n the victory going our way .We did not lose any match with arshavin starting, or did we?If Adebayor was more reliable, we prolly wudnt have been humilaited by United in the UCL semis. Like i said b4, the fixtures shld help us this season, if we capitalise on it |
He was on 40k a week n he scored 30 goals from 150 chances. he threatened to leave so his wages was double (80k) and scored 15 goals. He operates a system where the number of goals scored is inversely proportional to his salary. Now i hope he gives them 7 from 150k, Good riddance! |
@doyin is Ade rily a world class striker? |
This is a funny stat: Details of goals scored by Adebayor last season: With Cesc Fabregas: Blackburn – 3 (header + penalty) FC Porto – 2 (header + penalty) Fenerbahce – 1 (one on one, through ball provided by Fabregas) West Ham – 1 Tottenham – 1 (tap in) Wigan (one on one, assisted by Fabregas) Middlesbrough (header from a Fabregas corner) Manchester City – 2 (one on ones, both assisted by Fabregas) Villareal (bicycle kick, still the pass was Fabregas’) Villareal Without Cesc Fabregas: FC Twente – 1 (one on one) (CL qualifier) Hull City – 1 (header) |
Well, good point there, if he's ready to be on d bench. AW tries to avoid such things! He'll rather sell the player than make him wait 4 a turn around, esp when d player doesnt mind leaving. Exempli gratia, Diarra. Gallas will be a free player afta next season and he hasnt shown any sign of wanting a renewed contract, maybe Toure will be much needed as d most experienced CB by then! Nonetheless, what we need MOST is a defensive midfielder. Will any come? Song will be needed by Cameroun by Jan/Feb and considering the fixtures in that month, we'll needed a dependable cover, Everton, Bolton, Aston Villa, Man U, chelski, liverpool in that order with 2 possible Carling cup semifinal fixtures n 1 FA cup fixture in between. It's gonna be a cracker! Thereafta, our last 12 fixtures in the league will be without the other top 3. the league is however winable if he look deeply into this arrangements. |
Personally, I wont really be gutted. Reasons being that, Gallas is arguably our best CB, n KT with him doesn't just work out. I think he's past his best too. So we need someone to partner gallas and i dont think that person is Kolo n I also dont see him sitting on the bench in arsenal. AW would have considered all these b4 making d decision to sell him. This is debatable though: we lost out in the FA cup and UCL semis cos of the absence of Gallas n Almunia esp in the former |
I think this is a very gud game, but is this really France ![]() Uche! Uche!! Uche!!! Uche!!!! Uche!!!!! Uche!!!!!! Uche!!!!!!! |

No, u call it grammatical cacology or solecism ![]() |
;d ;d ;d |
thot he possessed enough arsenal to withstand the ballistic morphologies. Eyaa, get well soon! Anyway lola, where r ur hedonistic troops? |
It's with abstruse extenuation that i come to u 2day for my breach in transmission. So where are we in the quest to bombard this thread with cachinnation through our phraseology? Where is Krama? |
This great and late comedian also has this to say: Didactic trimeloky is not suitably vamolious to a dandasorious activity in a sagatocious millennium if a kindagarten lolypid is trumariously jemoralised! |
khanye:Even though Arsenal wasnt at their supposed best last nyt, the overall tie shows that they should qualify, nonetheless. Roma was shyte in Emirate, bt Arsenal showed some class at Rome, though we all expected a better performance disregarding playing away from home cos we did it against Milan (even without a home win). It's the qualification that matters. Gooner till eternity!!! |
Lloyd~Iy:Yea Lloyd~Iy:Yea, a prophet with accurate prophesy indeed. Twasnt easy at all. Arsenal wasnt at their best tonight, but i wont accrue that to Roma's performance. We should have played better, nonetheless. What counts is the qualification, anyway |
dani1luv:Looking at ur choice of words with absolutely no pre-existence, my faculty was obliged to remember a late comedian in person of Gbenga Adeboye who spoke analogously at a tym and i quote: "The sadominal oral of a labenicle territory is anajestically damorecious to a state of tuporial agrilony if a lackadaisical aroro of a dansonious plutony is semendaciously and femoratically daisy in a jantamantial efrology of etamious bandu. Then the watanical drimology of etamious bandu will be tantamount either by law or by style to a gintorious gentamantal" which all simply means "Wonders shall neva end" |
hmmmmmness is an absolute solecism; utterly cacological and bombastic too |
I visualise that while some peeps contend to demonstrate their aptitude and knack for vocabulary, others are busy projecting excruciatingly obnoxious, horrendous and abhorrent ballistic missiles. Does that make them so hebetudinous like Jack ![]() |
manmustwac:Arsenal will qualify with that scoreline, nonetheless! |
Yea, except Man U ![]() @ poster. Swthrt, it's not Nigerian time, it's Nigeria time!!! Cacology! ![]() dominique:2 seasons back, Arsenal crashed at the 1st Knockout to PSV, Liverpool went on in the quarter final to hammer an avenge |
@ Jamace Rotflmfao!!! U'r an inspiration. That was with some verisimilitude. Now, referring to your potential paroxysm, I will not opt to remonstrate with that piece of jocular asserveration. The mastery of my grammatical parlance and verbalism have been bestowed by Olodumare that every vocabulary-deficient specimen may hold on to the fastidious erudition with clarity, brevity and perspicacity; comicality being an incidential boon. To Jah be the kudos! |
