This is very funny. Do you really think I am doing this for personal gain? Then why am I not going for president? The board is a maximum of 8 members. There's a reason for that. Thanks for your support all this while but to say I am doing all this for personal gain is not true at all. If so, I will be looking at ways of arresting this assoc for myself. I haven't done that. Emyo abeg modify your speech accordingly. DailyNews made the electoral fees to be N3000 flat for all positions for good reason. Please. And please beg him to add three more board seats on his list of offices for the election. Reason is that the board members he listed are really ex officio members...since they v got another extra job...Emyo you know what I mean...make una help me beg the guy. sunical: The Chairperson is the President and he's also a Board member. He has to be elected not appointed or rotated around.

On the highlighted, I think you are the one who has refused to accept that there's virtually not a writing association using that leadership style you are proposing.

Ours will b d first writing association with ds method, if dt's what you want to hear. It's a bettr option dn d president being d board chair as well. Abeg we'v settled ds. You won. Let's move on? You just want to keep arguin...

sunical: There are always two arms. 1. An Executive Board headed by the President and 2. Different committees headed by Directors or Chairs

The Executive Board oversees these committees. You will not find where there's a Chairperson to check the President as Peaceworld puts it. The people to be checked are the Committees. The President is a member of the Board, serves them and is subject to them considerably.

Please, we are all young people. Let none of us claim expert in this. It helps taking a look at similar associations to find out how they've been running successfully and what leadership style worked for them.

The chairperson or chairman is an ordinary board member who 'chairs' board meetings. This is what I wanted you to understand, but you don't want to. The president cant chair board meetings. We can rotate the chairman of the board position amongst d board members. Another good idea. Will b updating d constitution with DailyNews' proposal asap...

Pls your structure for YAN Exec board is OK, dont get me wrong. We shuld just note dt d president cannot chair board meetings. This makes it a better decision making outfit dn ANA...And blv me, I understand your structure quite well...dont think it's what DailyNews is proposin, though...n cuz of dt, I third his proposal, as long as the president doesn't head board meetings. ANA uses dt structure so how hav dey bn doing since? Mayb dt structure is even their problem. If they use it n they r doing quite well, then we shuldn't b trying to create ds association because we shuld all b in ANA. Do u knw I tabled a proposal before ANA's President and up till nw, nothin frm his office? My proposal ws for d creation of a grassroot wing combin d country for new young authors. ANA members loved it when they read thru it, but since d president heads evrythin, it ws kinda dropped. I rest my case. Even the so-called board mmbrs who loved ds proposal kept mute abt it. And ds is the association you want YAN to mimick? Hmmmmmm....DailyNews and my fellow YANNERS, this is my arguement...we have already agreed on an executive board, remember DailyNews? We hav already trimmed down the number of persons in authority. The only thing Sunical feels we shuld do now is allow the president free reign of both board meetings and the association's administration. In my opinion, I feel a fellow board member shuld chair board meetings while the president concentrates on carrying out the decisions taken in these meetings for evryone's benefit.
