DailyNews, please am not against the money they will need to pay, but I am against 'President' and 'Vice President' as an office. The constitution I've been working on talks of a Directorate...and this is good...we need a servant leader not a high office...the other officials are ok by me...what do you guys think?

Please check your emails. I have forwarded the new constitution.

DailyNews: Welcome back onboard exty, we have missed your presence...thank God they didn't kidnap you in your sweet dungeon...Lolz...welcome back....dear.

Lets not perceive any danger, everything will be put in place soonest; things will be in order and YAN will accelerate at a more higher speed cos we seem to be running behind schedule. Sunical thanks a bunch, Emyo...the independent atahiru jega himself your efforts has been immeasurable...lol...ok ok.

Yes we are having new members join and indicate interest daily, I foresee YAN going beyond our expectations only if we get it right now, so the moment to decide the future of YAN is now! That in mind, we need finance from all angles to fulfil our goals and mission...remember, finance is the power behind every great thing we see today in the world, so lets all think of how to pull out resources to fun YAN and to publicize YAN to become a giant household name in Nigeria and beyond. We need a branch in UK, USA and Ghana the moment we kick off, and thats why we need solid start and a solid leadership to carry this vision and to bring it to a fulfillment.

If not that we truly want to run YAN as a purely democratic entity, I would have asked for members' permission to elect our first leaders by appointment based on efforts put in so far by some distinguished members who truly have this association at heart even as they sleep eat. But we decided to make it democratic so people can make their choice, but that doesn't mean we shouldn't make the right choice to avoid crumbling this dream cos of bad leadership, remember, YAN is still a todler trying to stand and walk.

We won't be having so many leadership positions to avoid confusion and conflicting roles, later tomorrow, I will be unveiling the various posts we will be looking up to have for now.

But then, each position to be contested for will have a certain amount of cash attached to it as fee to be paid by the person to hold such post, reason being to ensure leaders are truly prepared financially, mentally, emotionally and passion-wise to take up the challenge that comes with the post they are vying for. This is also going to serve as a strategy to raise fund for YAN because YAN needs funding right now and we have to source for it from all angles.

Below is a brief of what we should be expecting:

1. President to pay 20k
2. Vice President to pay 10k
3. P.R.O1 to pay 10k
4. P.R.O2 to pay 5k
5. Treasurer to pay 15k
6. Secretary to pay 10k
7. Chancellor/Coordinator to pay 30k

Note: The position of a chancellor is something I just came up with recently and wish to share the idea with everyone openly to see and hear our reactions to the idea. The position will be permanent for now and to be occupied by the founder. You may ask, why the position of a coordinator when there is a president again? Now see, YAN is still tender, hasn't even stood grounds and only few members are dedicated right now while so many are just passive and hoping to see things move forward. Now, we want to elect people to handle the leadership, and we don't know the level of their passion and readiness to pilot the affairs of YAN to fulfil l YAN's short and long term goals. Therefore, I saw a need to have a checkmating leader to guide the acting leadership to avoid them loosing passion or focus along the line when things gets tougher both financially and otherwise cos it will definitely. I do not intend to run the day to day activities of the association or to take it as if its a private business I am running hence my not intending to run for any position, to enable other members who share similar vision and passion to run the affairs while I checkmate and monitor their activities to ensure credibility, fairness and accountability. I initiated this idea and I do not want it to die or not to achieve its goals hence my asking for our support for this position of a chancellor or say a coordinator to exist so as to coordinate the activities of YAN by liaison with the acting leadership in-line with YAN constitution to ensure we achieve or joint and individual goals for YAN. I want to hear your opinion and views on this idea, if it is welcomed or not.

Finally, I want to also appeal to us that certain positions will be reserved for the female members to ensure gender-equality, and to also tell the entire Nigerian society that YAN supports and will empower women in literary industry. I am suggesting these positions (to be reserved for female members for now): Vice President, Treasurer, Secretary.

Once again, only fully registered members who have paid their registration fee will be eligible to vote when the time reaches, thank you in anticipation to hearing from you all, stay blessed.
Seriously? See bolded...I think we don't need a president in this association...Oga DailyNews, how did this all start? We all wanted to come together and work towards realizing our dreams...someone answering a president will take airs and ruin everything, I think. A director was mapped out as the person who answers to the board...like NAFDAC n all that...peeps. let's not be carried away by this...been working on that constitution and I'm about to upload what I have done so far...

DailyNews: This is an idea from a concerned member of YAN, please read his idea below:

Suggested by: Busayo Felix Abikooye

this is my idea,
I SEE CRAZY MUSICS ON THE TV SCREEN EVERYDAY WITH NO MESSAGE COMPARED TO THE GREAT MESSAGES ON THE LYRICS OF OUR POEMS. SO I START TO ASK MYSELF THAT WHY SHOULD OUR POEMS BE LIMITED TO THE PAGES OF A MAGAZINE AND POETRY SITES, MEANWHILE, THEY CONTAIN MESSAGES THAT COULD CHANG
E OUR SOCIETY. SO I WANT TO SUGGEST THAT IF WE CAN BUY TIME ON A TV STATION, AND DISPLAY MONTHLY TOP 10 POEMS (LIKE THEY DISPLAY TOP 10 MUSIC VIDEOS ON THE TV SCREEN ). SO THAT MEMBERS OF THE PUBLIC WILL SEE TRUE MESSAGES AND INSPIRATIONAL LYRICS. POETS WILL SUBMIT THEIR FORMS WITH THE FEE OF LETS SAY #1000(AS THE ADMIN DECIDES). MEMBERS OF THE PUBLIC AND POET COMMUNITY WILL VOTE FOR THE TOP 10 POEMS. WE CAN EVEN RAISE MONEY AS COMPANIES WILL WANT TO ADVERTISE THROUGH THIS MEANS. I WANT THE EXECUTIVES TO DELIBREATE MORE ON THIS because IT WILL BRING FAME, UNIQUENESS, GROWTH AND FULFILMENT TO OUR GROUP.
Thanks. Love u all.
I can also be contacted if needed on this thanks.
Pls do well to reply me thanks.

Suggested via YAN Facebook Fan page mail box.

Please read and comment...just part of things to unfold...YAN will really change literary entertainment in Nigeria if we work passionately together will all we have- talent, time, resources, passion, etc...
Love it...

I've been so busy with some crucial responsibilities back here, reason why I've been absent for a while, buh would try to be e-present during the online meeting today... Thank God, and also thanks to you Peaceworld for succesfully putting up the website, 'the ministry is moving to the permanent site' *kidding*... Wishing we all a fantamafabulous weekend... Cheers!
Done. Have sent it to the email you provided, as well as your personal inbox, I think...The website you see here is just the new site design, dear. Sunical...what do you think of the new design?

I'll prefer someone who lives in the Surulere/lawanson area.there is little pay for now but if you do well and learn fast you could earn something nice. if you interested contact me by email @ doubledrumproductions@gmail.com.

Uniquexty: Good evening. I just discovered that we have over 50 members who sent in their forms. The sad thing is that only a handful are on nairaland. Hence, d others don't know what is happening. I just sent an email to all of us bringing us to date. @sunical, only a handful have paid. Let me wait and see if more wil respond to the email i sent. Then, i wil sent u d contacts of those who have paid. @collins, i'm begining to like that young man. @hapi, xup? U didnt send d msg. @peaceworld, wot could we have done witout men like u? But, i'm angry with u. So considering all the pretty girls we have in this club, u didn't find any of our faces worthy enough to grace that homepage? (joking). U are wonderful. @dailynews, oga u remain. Every other person is counter. @emyo, happen dey wetin 4 ur side? @yk, i know u want to say something, say it. @you, i'm coming back to tell u something. sunical: @DailyNews and Pearl_Hapi. I am not offended. Why should I? None of you are bossy or autocratic at all and I respect that. I was only surprised at what I felt was an attack on a healthy disagreement. We've all been doing great, but it's best to get the best in a project, especially at the beginning. We need to get it right at the beginning. All respectful disagreement is welcome, but not at the expense of actions and progress.

I'm on groupme too. If we can fix a date, better. Maybe, it would help hurry up others to register. Just suggesting.

@House. Lets all send our initial registration fee of N1000 to Christiana's account so that she can register us to vote. I will send mine tomorrow.

Thanks.
Peeps abeg...nobody's arguing here...Sunical n I are just discussin abt the site design...I understand what he means by a mature feel...n am workin towards a bettr design...cheers...smiley
